What's new

[PICTURES/VIDEOS] "My aim is to play for Pakistan again": Raza Hasan

he got an opportunity to bring his career back on track after many years out, unfort he blew it. one could make an argument about his age when he was initially banned but hes pbly 30 now.

if he cant control himself now, he never will. was talented, but shame he had his demons.. but i wouldnt blame pcb for it.

He's had help, he's had senior players around him, he's had friends round him who are also professional cricketers, yet there were still issues which is really sad.

Such a shame because he was a damn fine bowler.

Raza Hasan takes 4-67 for Northern vs Balochistan in Round 5 of QeA Trophy

Vaguely remember him he looked a good prospect... hope he gets second chance and he does not throw it away again.

This guy could have been someone who played a lot of cricket for Pakistan but instead he wasted the many opportunities he got.

Poor company, poor decisions, whatever it was - he threw a potentially very good career away.

Haven’t seen him bowl since 2014…would be good to get some videos of his recent performances here.

Definitely could play for Pakistan in all formats could’ve been vital in the semi final as a spell of 2-30 in 4 overs would’ve been the difference between a win and a loss compared to Hassan Ali who conceded 44 without taking a wicket.

Lovely loop.

Always had the ability to spin the ball.

Such a shame how his career nosedived.

I mean he is still young for a spinner so no reason he can't make comeback to the test team if his performances are good?

We have a lot of home test series coming in the next year. Him and Nauman Ali could cause some real havoc on home pitches.

Another video of his recent performances

Who knows if he works hard, and stays focus, he can maybe make his way back into the national team in the future, luckly plays for Pakistan, so he can even make a return at 35, its a shame what happened, he was a talented spinner for sure.

Anyone seen one of his interviews? Not sure where it is from, but think it is quite recent. Complains about the management, etc. for keeping him out... another one not accepting his own mistakes. Keep him out of the team. Bad influence.

This guy was very talented but he also has problems with drugs and once someone is addicted to substances, he will go back to them.

Anyone have any updates on him? I remember during my first impressions of him in 2010 I was very impressed and thought he could be a great find for Pakistan. Cricinfo states he hasn't played since Dec 2021.

He has had problems with drugs and that's proberly reason why we haven't seen him play much.

Raza Hasan recently showed promising performance, with 1/20 in 3.3 overs and an economy rate under 6. Despite his immense potential, his career unfortunately didn’t pan out as expected, which is truly disheartening for Pakistan.

He was a part of the 2012 T20 World Cup squad. Notably, he dismissed Gautam Gambhir for a duck in the World Cup match against India.

He was such a good bowler when he started playing but he ruined his own career due to addiction.

Congrats to the couple.

Never rated him as highly. He was bowling way too quick and tried to spin the ball at that speed with that action and got a back stress fracture and was never the same when he came back in 2014

Mehran Mumtaz is another who I feel just bowls too quick .
