I am from Tamil Nadu, so is Ashwin. I watched him playing during my college days. He scored a fifty against our college team. He was an opener then. He was also the opener for his school team as well.

50% of Indian youngsters are![]()
We will have to be brave as well with him, there will be times when he will get slogged for a few.

Great video this
Those shots from Barnell/Barnwell (Don't know his name)
Were a treat to watch!
Very true. Mentally very tough guy this fella is. He has shown very good attitude towards his game so far. I wish to see him grow as a spinner and player.
hi yaar.lol reg that cakewalk issue yest,if a team dominates till 17 overs, and if other team lays well for 3 overs and reaches 140,its a victory but its by no means called a cakewalk.
and ya,ashwin strength is his mental toughness for sure.
Is he talented with the bat ?
He is not getting enough chances![]()
24 so he might get good 8 years as bhajji is 31 nowHow old is this youngsta beauty![]()
yup but the next time the situation occurred he stepped up and delivered to set chennai to the finalI'm a fan ,like his attitude and the way balls I just worry though what if he gets decoded. In some Cl 2010 game, david hussey got the measure of him in his innings, and when the super over came he took 28 runs off ashwin, but then again he might have had a bad day![]()
not good 4 india if he got 9 wickets on debut
some one called Narendra Hirwani took 16 wickets on debut also vs west indies
but what happened 2 him after that
same wil happen 2 ashwin
u guys need mishra... poor man would be feeling amused seeing all this... he had 2 ball at england on those green tops lol where as ashwin makes an easy entry vs ping pong west indies...
Checked his runout closely.
Ball was going over his head when he completed his first run.
Anyway he runs too slowly for a 25 yr old guy![]()
That guy is mentally strong..
Totally agree, he had the perfect chance & an opportunity like that will never come back ! You can't be excused if you've flunked in one department(batting/fielding) of the game just cause you've done better in others, the commitment(perhaps focus as well) from him was certainly lacking in that last hour of the test match. This guy is a Liablity as a fielder and an extremely extremely poor runner...Cost us an entire test match, i may sound a bit harsh, but his running between the wickets over shadowed his 5fer and a century.
dumbest cricketer I have ever seen. not sure if he has any brain.
lol.
He'll be Einstein compared toand many more.

Did you see the last ball of the match ? Some members on PP have pointed out that he defended the second last ball of the day in order to save us from losing, if thats the case then surely he must have realized that we couldn't lose the game off the last ball provided both of them aren't run out !dude he saved the game from 186-6 n nearly won the game, got MoS n u say he lacks commitment![]()
It'd definitely help him & the team if he'd look at his batting partner instead of turning his back on them(like yesterday) then reluctantly turning back to save face !^
He doesn't run, but walks when batting.
Last ball of the drawn test match , ball crossed him before he could turn for the second run.)
I don't think even Usain Bolt could have taken two runs there. Only chance was wk missing the through, but then he would completed it anyway.Did you see the last ball of the match ? Now if he didn't have a blood clot somewhere in that brain of his(btw I hate that stupid brain f*** acronym) then he should have run for the second no matter what, but he didn't that could imply alot of other insinuating things(like those numerous conspiracy theories going around) so least of all that shows his lack of commitment/focus in not running hard(especially the first run) & mostly common sense missing in the heat of the moment.
Yeah but the point is he didn't run thereby negating any chance the keeper might have messed up like the PAK/SL T20 nor did he put any pressure on the fielder, anyone defending him on this is a devoted fanboy !I don't think even Usain Bolt could have taken two runs there. Only chance was wk missing the through, but then he would completed it anyway.

india would have been in a deeper mess without his century.
Some times, a mistake can be forgiven for greater goods. It was stupidity, but for gods sake, he isn't a batsman. If you watched cricket in 90s, these tail enders bat way better than srinath and kumble ("yes! No! Yes! The last thing you'll see, they are both on the same end"). Give credit where its due. Its the batsmans fault that situation became like that. Yesterday and in that test, only the lower middle order and tail enders taking the role of anchoring in more occasions than they are capable of.

That's his only saving grace but if we are to move forward from wannabe world champs to an indomitable force in cricket this change will have to come sooner rather than later, just look at Oz last test against SA(even though they're on a downslide) where MJ & Robert pull them through an even tougher scenario the only difference being they had more than enough time left on their side !india would have been in a deeper mess without his century.

I'd like to clarify this -yeah he messed it up, no justification for that.
but it happens in the heat of the moment.even top batsmen flunk.to say he lacks commitment just bcoz of one incident is unfair
I'd like to clarify this -
its not the execution part but his unwillingness to run that tight second(similar to last night) that makes me wonder if he's giving that 110% which is required in such conditions ?
