[PICTURES] Wahab Riaz versus Ahmed Shehzad [PSL 2016]

I heard that Shehzad liked a negative tweet about Wahab on twitter. Maybe that's why Wahab was angry and I wouldn't blame him. Shehzad is pathetic.

Shehzad is king of Twitter politics.

Well, one thing is confirmed. You don't provoke beast like Wahab, otherwise he will demolish your batting line up :)) We saw it against Australia and now we saw it against Quetta, i hope Kohli sledge him in WT20 and Wahab may dismantle their batting :)))

Do you really want to see wahab cry? :misbah

This thread is about Wahab and Shehzad, Indians should refrain from bringing india into it.

not worse than bhajji slapping sreesanth.

It may not be but we never witnessed it on television screen like this one, hence divided opinions.

JMHO - Physical reciprocation to a verbal provocation is just not on in non-contact sport like cricket.

I think there is a connection - basically Wahab was practicing how to show aggression against Kohli in World T20 - so he picked on Kohli's twin on this side of the border.

Do you really want to see Kohli cry? :)
carrom_ball you're right bro, Wahab is as pathetic as Sami was! Phainty is guaranteed! GreenRoars do you want a bet? After Asia cup and WT20 you'll be one of the protesters; protesting against Wahab's inclusion in the team!

I wish the opposite happens Wahab sledges Kohli :P

Wahab is a fine test bowler but isn't that good in shorter format, but one good thing about him is that unlike other bowlers, he do well in world cups.

I wonder sometimes if Wahab played a three match test series against Zimbabwe's U19 team - does he have it in him to end up with at least a couple of 5/6 wicket hauls ripping apart batting line ups ??? Or will it just be useless aggression, sledging, bouncers hitting helmets, broken limbs and in the wickets column only the number 2 or 3.

Our is a useless t20 team, so we know the result of the match already, but i think Wahab will have to be very careful, if he's overly aggressive again, he will be in trouble.

Naw i think it will make the Indo-Pak encounters interesting ,two charged up teams playing each other in a pressure situation.
Also T20 is about playing well on that day if it was ODI i would had slightly favored us but T20 is always going to be 50-50 and if we play Yuvi its 40-60 favoring Pak.

Hahaha bhai let's do it. I will change my siggi to (Say No To Wahab) :)) If somehow Wahab gets success, then i will call you, i have a good memory don't worry, but you should bookmark this thread.

It can only be interesting if Pak can match India, unfortunately we can't, and the squad that is selected is nothing but a joke.

Poor stuff from both of them. At the end of the day it's only a league match.

I have heard that Harb even slapped sreesanth in IPL, also Kohli had a fight with another player in IPL, so this kind of stuff do happen in league match. But yes, poor stuff from both.

That's what everyone said about 2007 T20 squads of India and Pak ,never underestimate youngsters in T20.

Gambhir, but tbf Bhajji and Symmonds also kissed and made up in IPL :P and we get along somewhat better with Aussies now than before.

Looks like Wahab and Shehzad never got out of high school. Shehzad likes negative posts about Wahab on twitter. Wahab is mad. What kind of juvenile crap is this?

Brilliant.

When you are on the field you are no one's friend. Shows both of them playing with ferocious competitiveness to get their teams to win matches. You don't want to see them all high fiving each other and showing no aggression

Why do people assume that just because all these players play in the national squad, they are all friends?

having said that, what Shehzad is doing now liking all those anti-Wahab tweets and posts is poor in taste.

It's all good folks, they're some serious competitors. Kiss and make up later boys, and move on, both have a part to play in Pak cricket.

What I really liked to see was Wahab bowl Sanga with an absolutely beauty 2 balls later.

Wahab did it to Nawaz as well.

Yes , If you think you are senior and do bad with juiors , there will be some one senior from u and will do same with you. (This is what islam thought us)

wahab is v good boy but he did totally wrong with nawaz. nawaz is junior and leave it , But here come ahmed shahzad (even no one like his attitude) , but this time he have given proper lesson to wahab.

I have no liking for Shehzad, but I don't think it is fair to see everyone pointing in Shehzad's direction. Wahab himself was overly aggressive and I've noticed that a few random good performances tend to get to his head. He has been needlessly uncouth in this PSL.

The useless Watson spell got to his head and he started pretending as if he is some top pacer. Needs to be brought done back to earth, but he's too smart to pick on players like Kohli, de Villiers, Rohit etc. because he know he will get owned.

Both at fault. I was pointing out that Shehzad seemed to wave the bat at Wahab first and say something.

@ Saj. Not agree with you on this. Wahab showing some extra regression in PSL. he did same for nawaz and i felt v bad at that time.

Most of Wahab's spells are good for the eyes only. He lets a few fly past the batsmen's ears to make everyone jump from their seats but the reality is that he is not skilled enough to run through teams. Just a 2-3 wicket bowler at best.

At least in the PSL hes been our best pacer and most have looked rubbish. We dont have any Steyns or Mcgraths. Im afraid that our limited overs pacers apart from Amir just are not world class. We dont have a choice but to go with Wahab who is a good ODI option. Id take him over Irfan any day. Hasan Ali is a special limited overs bowler and a must in the future in ODIs and I think Rahat and Ehsan can be good in ODIs.

Wahab Riaz, Ahmed Shehzad Cautioned by Pakistan Cricket Board After Spat in PSL Match

Ahmed Shehzad was fined 30 per cent of his match fee, while Wahab Riaz was penalised 40 per cent of his game earnings by match referee Roshan Mahanama.

Karachi: Pakistan players Wahab Riaz and Ahmed Shehzad have been fined heavily and given a warning by the Pakistan Cricket Board for a heated on-field altercation during a Pakistan Super League match in the UAE. (Read More in Cricket)

The incident happened in the fifth over of the match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi when the two Pakistani players pushed each other and exchanged harsh words.

While Shehzad was fined 30 per cent of his match fee, Riaz was penalised 40 per cent of his game earnings by match referee Roshan Mahanama.

"The players have been asked to behave as such incidents hampers the image of Pakistan cricket as millions are watching the PSL around the globe," a PCB official said.

"Physical contact is a serious offence and we don't take it lightly, this time the players have just been cautioned privately since they were fined by the match referee," the official added.

While Wahab has been named in the Pakistan squad for the Asia Cup and World Twenty20 the national selectors have sidelined Shehzad for not showing consistent form.

He shouldn't be leading the attack, he needs another top quick to share the burden and build pressure from the other end. Hopefully that'll be the case with Amir.

As for the match referee's action, its the right punishment and hopefully this saga can be put to bed.

Ok done bro! if you win i'll change my profiles name if not possible then will make an another profile with the name that you suggests? Deal?

That is very vague roary, what do you mean by success? If kohli whacks wahab and then wahab takes his wicket will you call it a success, or if he doesn't take his wicket but doesn't get whacked either then will that be a success? Also the siggi is boring, if you lose change it to Kohli made wahab cry :misbah

This is like Amir being told not to celebrate his wickets.

Give me a break. Fast bowlers ARE AGGRESSIVE. I can point you to a zillion examples from every team in cricket where one fast bowler got unnecessarily pumped. Wahab got smashed for a 6. He came back and clean bowled Shehzad. If that was me I would be friggin pumped. What did he do he screamed and pumped his fist. SHEHZAD was the one who got overly embarrassed and pointed bat and started pointing at him.

Find me a fast bowler who every single innings acts like a humble bechara mujrim and then we'll talk.

[VIDEO/PICTURES] Wahab Riaz versus Ahmed Shehzad

Ahmed Shehzad can be quite an annoying thing walking around on your TV screen, but I can´t fault him too much here (except a tweet that he liked on Twitter about Wahab Riaz giving send-offs in the PSL to young and new-coming batsmen from the country). Wahab himself has been celebrating wickets in an overboard throughout this tournament.

In an age where these over the top celebrations, send-offs and the tension between opposition players has been becoming an issue with each day passing, the authorities are getting more and more lenient (the altercation between Kieron Pollard and Mitchel Starc in an IPL comes to my mind). A fine would have been okay if it only had been a matter of exchange of words, but here Wahab pushed Shehzad. It deserved a ban. What´s next? The ICC (or whichever board involved) asking players to arrange one day´s meal for a poor family for a violation?

Bhai please take a look at the video again. Wahab dismissed Shehzad and celebrated in his usual fashion, but apparently Shehzad took it to heart, pointed his bat at Wahab's face and said a few choice words.

At which point Wahab lost his cool, turned on his Lahori accent and pushed Shehzad away.

Shehzad seems like the one who initiated the altercation.

Wahab MANHANDLED Shezad . Shezad looked like a little scared bunny when it came game time .Just goes to show that all of Shezad's aggression is fake and when it comes down to it he'll back out. Still doesn't excuse Wahab's behavior though!

This is 1000000% better than favoriting negative tweets like Shehzad did.

I'm sure there is a backstory to this, riaz wouldn't get that agro otherwise

I suspect they never were fond of each other and shezhad's recent interviews would have rubbed people the wrong way

wahab obviously didnt have a comeback to whatever clever sledge that shezzy came up with and resorted to physical violence like a total loser. he reminded be of glenn 'the elephant killer' mcgrath's blowups when sledged and that's a very sad comparison.

A very mature thing to say by Wahab, well done.

Now lets close this topic and move on

Sorry but it wasn't just sledging coz shezy touched Wahab with his helmet and in retaliation Wahab pushed him.

Looking at the wit ahmed shehzad shows that sledge cant be any better than MC or BC nonsense.

May be all of this is scripted to enhance the viewership.

Low scoring matches are not much fun. But if you add some mini battles where bowlers and batsmen go at each other not just with ball and bat, it can create a lot of interest among fans.

May not be good for Pak Cricket overall, but for the short term, its good for PSL.

TV Ratings for PSL higher than international T20s in Pakistan. The people are loving it despite the low scoring matches.

Yea its amazing first Lahore-Karachi match had 55% of Pakistan tv viewers watching the match not sure about their 2nd match though.

Those 8 to 9 and 10 to 11 political fight programs are gone missing thanks to PSL.

Just saw this, and as much as I dislike Ahmed Shehzad and as stupid as his twitter doings were, Wahab seems in the wrong here. Over the top stuff when playing against your own countrymen

Whoever thinks that low scoring matches are not fun should stop watching the game.

On topic.. aggressive attitude is good for the game as long as people don't go overboard( physical) ... my thought was that they both should have been banned for atleast couple of games..

I will admit to you that seeing the video even a hundred time makes it hard for me to decide as to who first got physical there. Judging how many or who first got physical on a day such as Valentine´s Day was never going to be easy.

So you might after all have a point.

in T20 leagues where you are paying millions to players like Gayle, then yes low scoring one-sides matches are definitely not enjoyable even if some test veteran watches every dot ball
