Have to say that when i saw it first time, it looked out but after a few times and also by reaction of the batsman, seems that it wasnt as clear cut

Rubbish behaviour from the Australians in the 2nd T20I against Pakistan

When Short was given run out both him and Finch started yelling at the umpires, and they kept it for a while. I am not defending the umpires here bit you just can’t keep doing that when the decision is given.
And really disappointed by Waqar’s commentary, should have said something.

Ridiculous umpiring, made a stupid decision after watching only 1/2 replays.

It looked grounded but from the Stump cam it apperead still in the air. I think the BOD should have gone to the batsman though.

D'Arcy Short must have some really strong forearms/wrists or whatever muscles he used to keep bat in air from that low angle to the ground. That is a horrible decision in my opinion, benefit of doubt should have gone to the batsman.

But you can’t defend the behaviour of the Aussies, no matter how poor the decision was!

It was in the air. Look at the shadows below the bat.

Also if the bat was in fact grounded as he’s saying then why’s he still pushing his arm and off the bat downwards still? That implies their is still travel left from bat to ground. If it was in fact grounded he’d essentially be still and that’s that’s.

But he was not still but more so still in the motion of bringing the bat down.

That’s out.

Does make it a bit awkward when the two on field, TV, and reserve umpires are Pakistanis.

They just showed an extended replay and it looks like bat was grounded the entire time and never in the air. Third umpire just made a hurried decision. However the aussie players need to be fined for their behavior

Bat was not grounded:shhh

No sympathies, have seen many times where BOD was never given to sub continent players. And the bat was in the air.

No excuse for yelling at the umpire.

Well now the Aussies have an excuse for losing a game they would have lost anyways.

Poor umpiring.

Either Short never grounded his bat or it was grounded the whole time. I would assume it was grounded the whole time.

The bat is in the air, have no idea what people are talking about. It was out

Grounded the whole time? Lol what are you watching. They showed three angles and their was a time it was in the air haha.

Are you sure you didn’t watch the extended replay where he finally got the bat down but by then the stumps were broken?

Are people losing their eyesights, how much more in the air does it have to be?

The batsmen was too slow, he should take the blame instead of looking for conspiracy theories.

When I saw it live that bat looked in the air.

Now I have seen it again I’m sticking with the same conclusion.

Not sure what the fuss is about tbh apart from the onfield Aussie over reaction.

Clesrly grounded and was never in the air. Also if it was in the air why would aussies react like that? Use some common sense

What kind of werid logic is that? Do you think every time a player appeals for something its out because why would they appeal if it wasn't out?

If we go by your logic then every accusation the Aus players have made against Indian players(For example Harbhajan being racist and Sachin being a liar) in the past are all true because if they werent true why would the aussies make those allegations?

There’s no point even replying when such fans have such bias no matter what the argument.

You work them out and It becomes pointless.

Difficult decision, seems like there is a little space between bat and crease.

That image wasn't the clincher, but the one on the stumps that showed his bat might have been in the air.

I didn't watch the match but I have seen replays and pics.

It looks clearly out to me. Not sure what the fuss is about.

its an optic illusion which got the ump... basically the bat is similarly color toned to the pitch and is at the far end of the pitch where it is in fact grounded... however if u try to look at it 2/3 down the pitch over that dark patch (which the ump prob did) it looks to be in the air by a few inches...

I have seen the game and watch the replays once the stumps were broken. If you keep on watching after the bails were dislodged you will not notice the bat hitting the ground meaning the bat was already grounded.

In any case due to lack of correct angles the benefit of doubt should have been given to the batsman.

Benefit of doubt should have been given if there was any doubt in the mind of the umpire. Even at the time the commentators were saying that is out. The confusing angles made it look like the bat was in the air.

It was lucky for Australia that he was given out. He looks like an inferior version of Ahmed Shehzad and eats up too many balls whilst also busy chewing his gum.

Have to say that overall the standard of the Pakistany umpires has been absolutely excellent in these two games... absolutely brilliant.

The way you say it it sounds like sarcasm, I'm not sure since I didn't watch the matches live :))

Let's just say that they are competing with S Ravi.

Lol, they haven't been that bad.

That said, there were some very good pakistani umpires in the PSL. Not sure why they aren't given a chance...

It is not really possible to stand like that and hold the bat 1 cm about the ground. You wouldn't be able to maintain your balance. So it was obviously not out.

Bat was in the air. Batsman was out. Good decision.

As for the behaviour of the Australians, so much for a new dawn...

The bat was grounded. If you look from the front angle, it is grounded wide of the crease (past the blue line), and not over the dark patch. The side angle makes it seem like it may be in the air if it was directly over the dark patch, but it wasnt over this area.

Regardless, Pakistan won the match fairly easily despite several dropped catches.

It was definitely grounded. Notice that the bat angle changed which would not be possible my simply gripping the bat toe.

However the optical illusion gave the impression that perhaps the bat might have been in the air. Side on angle was better, stump cam is useless because they are designed to give a fish-eye view almost.

Anyways, Australians lost and they need to improve their game instead of crying

To me it looked clearly out. Those saying front angle shows it was grounded, should also care to see that at that time bat was not as deep in the crease as during the side angle. That means bat wasn't still from the point ball touched bowler's fingers to hitting the stump. Plus Short didn't even react much, it was Finch was got hyper.

Wot logic is that. If someone is dropping the bat to touch the ground, then at some point bat will be 1 cm above the ground. Who said he was holding the bat there still, he was bringing it down.

awaiting firm ICC action for show of dissent by Australia batsmen on field.
