It’s out and that would have been the general consensus among the visually impaired PPers if this was an Indian batsman.

Fakhar is a fraud batsman in this format anyway, so it’s not like he was going to do anything.

But we are a crybaby nation because we don’t have the ability to deliver on the pitch.

Repeat a lie so many times and at such a scale that it appears to be the mainstream opinion, this seems to be the new tactic adopted by Pakistani keyboard warriors, and not just in Cricket.

Decent feel-good strategy, but changes nothing in the real world. With each of these claims, people are just losing whatever little credibility they had.

Even if it was out, was it obvious with camera angles, answer is No. So you cannot give it out. Fakhar may not have stellar record but he was still tonking Indian bowlers, and is one of the better players for Pakistan , he would had scored at a better strike rate than likes if Hasan Talat or Agha. So it is wrong call to say the wrong decision did not impact Pakistan.

There is no "even if", he was out to anyone not a Pakistani.

Not true Shahstri also said there was not enough evidence, and part of the ball looks like touching the turf before hitting the gloves unless you do not want to see it. Fakhar may have gotten out soon after and his innings may not have impacted the match but we got to see manhoos batting of Mohd Nawaz , Talat and Agha earlier than could had been. Anyway no matter what the score India would had chased it against this Pakistani bowling attack.

This is why we should have proper commentators even for Asia Cup - like Ian Bishop , Mike Atherton , Ian Chappel. They call a spade a spade.

Not these jingoist clowns like Waqar Younis or Ravi Shastri who cant keep their emotions under control

ps : The catch was clean but thanks to Waqar's non stop whining - most Pakistanis are convinced it was not out

Imagine if it was India vs England. Say Josh Butler was given out. Do u think Mike Atherton or Nasser Hussain wud start crying all match ?

No way. Even if they thought it was not out or atleast some doubt - they wud say it was umpire's decision , so move on

Now compare that to Waqar's whining !

I believe it was out. The second angle confirmed it.

These replays always make it seem like the ball bounced.
This is bcoz its a 3D event captured on 2D camera. Hence it creates illusion of bouncing as the 3rd dimension is not clearly captured

This was a major issue 25 years back. Lots of catches taken cleanly were declared not out. Ian Chappel raised this issue a lot during commentary. That forced ICC to rethink. Since then third umpire started giving out unless there is very clear evidence of grounding

In this case its pretty clear ball bounced inside the gloves. No evidence of touching grass

It went in the gloves.
There is nothing to suggest that it made contact with the turf.

This is a clean catch. As out as Broad in Trent Bridge.

Looks like Pakistan has found a solution to the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. So much crying that they may need to build more dams.

It was out. But I was struck more by the reaction from Wasim and Waqar. Commentators should try to maintain atleast some semblance of objectivity when commentating on an international cricket match.
I agree
Sanjay Manjrekar and Gavaskar should be banned from commentary.
These people come across as self-obsessed without adding any insights.

I would prefer the new lot from the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa etc.

I havent heard much of Pakistani commentators but Wasim Akram is decent. Waqar is tiresome to listen to.

It looked out to me but I can understand Pakistani reactions. And the umpiring in the Asia Cup has been really poor. So, I can understand fans frustration. But the complaint looked unwarranted to me.

He was not out today as well. The ball clearly hit the ground before the fielder collected it.

I demand an investigation against the cheater umpire.
