[PICTURES] Was this a wide that allowed the Qualifier to go into the Super Over?

If you ask the batsman then that is definitely a wide. I doubt he could hit that.

50/50 call. Imad was standing across his stumps. No doubt he'll have a whinge about it if they lose.

That was wide, but I think Umpire didn’t like Imad leaving it like that.

Not a wide, batsman changed his batting stance therefore wide line has changed as well... Good Professional Umpiring

I don't even understand how this is a debate. The line itself belongs to the umpire and that ball was on the wrong side of the line as it went past the batsman. Why on earth was Dominic Cork suggesting otherwise! Poor umpiring.

The umpire who didnt call it is one of the best emerging umpires and is a very fair person. I trust his judgement.

Umpire wanted to make the match and PSL more interesting......:ronaldo

But it wasnt a wide in the first place. You need to watch the full motion replay to understand why he didnt call it a wide. The other umpire would have called it a wide though.

50/50 call at best.

In cricket, everything is on umpire’s discretion- in that regard, he thought it wasn’t wide, so it be. But, that ball crossed the black line at full, absolutely no reason for not calling it. Also, the line doesn’t move with the position of batsmen. Previously, due to this inconsistency ICC has put a guide line for umpires.

Only thing that might have confused the umpire here or he decided to go with the bowler is that the batsman didn’t even attempt a shot, otherwise that was a clear wide.

Deserving team won therefore we might not hear much of it again, but had KK lost today, I am sure that umpire would have gone to KK dressing room to justify his side of the story.

It was a wide but let's not turn it into a conspiracy by saying " did they want a super over"? Humans make mistakes.

If the batsman moved across the wickets towards point, BEFORE the ball was released, only then the wide line moves with him.

I didn’t watch the game but did the above two conditions meet? If not it’s a wide.

From the pics, it looks a marginal wide when you see the distance between the ball and batsman’s body.

He is a brilliant umpire that was a horrendous decision that could have proved to be very costly.
