[PICTURES] Why Mohammad Hasnain's action is illegal, and why Jasprit Bumrah's isn't

And why should they test "other bowlers"?

If ICC starts testing all the bowlers everytime a Pakistani gets caught, they'll run out of coffers inside 5 years. :91:

Atleast try to be logical and sensible for once.

For once try and logical and sensible?

You have to be a complete imbecile if you can't see that there is a chink is Bumrah's action.
Yes it could be Hyperextension but where are the tests and where are the results?

How do umpires decide what is chucking and what is not?
Why has he never been called?

On the other hand you have Hasnain, who whose throwing wasn't visible but was rightly called and tested.

This is the crux. The hypocrisy

Just to further help people, a hyperextension is the ability the bend the elbow (possibly forwards in most cases) in what's known as a negative angle to the forearm. It can be due to a hyper mobile joint in the arm, which you are BORN with, or sometimes a slight deformation of the arm. I attach a pic of Shoaib who was always cleared of having an issue due to his arm.

It isn't always obvious that a hyperextension exists - often until someone bowls - other times it is obvious. But that's why there is testing. My own view is it's time to test EVERY bowler before they play professional cricket at every level. that way we will all know for sure.

And finally, just because an arm is bent, doesn't mean it's a chuck. The arm has to straighten by 15 degrees or more, not be bent by 15 degrees or more (excluding hyperextension). I hope this helps everyone who is simply being patriotic or anti another country for the sake of it. We want the game to be clean and fair for all.

The bold part is not hard to understand, but I think it may be missed by some fans.

The only bit that looks questionable in the straightness of Bumrahs arm (whether it's hyperextension or not) is at the point of release. His arm appears pretty much perfectly straight when it's at shoulder height therefore it can't be chucking no matter how/which way his arm bends at the point of release.

Good post, this something most/all cricket fans should agree with minus ones with blue tinted glasses

It would just be easier if you answer the question yourself for us. We will answer in binary yes or no. Will that help?

Because since you have rejected every kind of explanation and reasoning, it seems you are waiting for the answer you want. So let it out, so that I can contribute my response.

I view Bumrah as a spinner instead of a chucker. Slow run up than bowling action. Hasnain was defiantly a chucker who was rightfully called.

Completely losing the plot aren't ya? :91:

Neways....

There are no "results" because there were no tests. There were no tests because no umpires ever reported him. No umpires ever reported him because no opposition batter has had an issue with his action. No opposition batter ever had an issue with his action because he doesn't have any jerk in his action. .And also because the batters have enough brain cells (functioning ones) and years of experience in facing hundreds of different bowlers/bowling actions to comprehend a simple fact that it's physically impossible for a fast bowler with as slinglier high arm action as Bumrah's to 'throw' or chuck a ball.

In fact Bumrah's action is the complete opposite to chucking coz his arm goes so straight that it actually bends backwards (again... due to his hyperextension) to the direction of his elbow joint. If you're a batter facing Bumrah, you'd feel the ball is released off a human slingshot which by the way is the whole other end of a spectrum to a baseball pitcher's throw (chuck in cricketing terms). The main reason why Akhtar's action looked more dodgy (although completely legal) than Bumrah's even though they have the same condition.

How do umpires decide what is chucking and what is not?
Why has he never been called?

Ajmal, Hafeez, Narine, Ojha, Samuels etc were all tested (and banned) years after their debuts. There's a tipping point where it becomes hard not to notice the blatant extension in arm.

an international coach himself has explained you bumrahs case, but if you want to be ignorant on purpose thats your choice i guess

How on earth is suggesting the broadcaster is manipulating the technology to change the third umpires decision and the course of the game 'nothing to do with the game'.

They are charging the broadcaster with deficiency of service. Thats not bringing the game into disrepute.

Chink? According to whom?

Ian Pont here and Damien Fleming in Australia explained Bumrah's action. They are international coaches/experts.Its obvious that international umpires and other experts have similar opinion.

End of the day its the BCCI/Big 3/Big money throwing their influence around syndrome, gravy train and perception which is the most convenient coat hanger to hand your deficiencies and blame for your shortcomings/team rankings/player rankings/ftp programme/everything under the sun.
A travesty that Jazz boom is even mentoned here.
still, i hope Hasnain gets good guidance for his action, and pcb also help him in counselling-as it cant be easy for a guy at such a young age to see his dreams go up in smoke - he needs guidance and sensitivity - hope he comes back mentally stronger, and improved in action and does well.

Get every bowler tested regardless of whether their action is suspicious or not.

If we need technology to tell us that a bowler is chucking then why are we relying on umpires to report a bowler for his action. The umpires are merely guessing.

Ditto, try finding an Indian who will ever agree to this because they know this will open a much bigger can of worms!

Excellent suggestion.

Since Pakistanis are the forefront for this movement, I humbly request PCB to pay and meet the expenses to have every bowler tested under the Supervision of ICC.

Deal ?

They are charging the broadcaster with deficiency of service. Thats not bringing the game into disrepute.

Accusing the broadcaster of manipulating the provided technology to change the course of the game isn't suggesting there's been a deficiency of service. It's suggesting they've committed a criminal offence that has affected the course and result of the game. There is no possible argument can be made that that doesn't bring the game into disrepute.

You're addressing someone who will defend his country no matter what, unless they muslims..
