There are many players from the weaker or associate sides that could have probably accomplished a lot more had to they played for a stronger team.

For eg the following players come to mind

Sikandar Raza, Brendan Taylor from Zimbabwe
Stirling, Porterfield, K O Brain from Ireland
Shakib/Tamim/Mustafizur and Mushfiqur from Bangladesh
Rahid Khan/Shehzad/Nabi from AFG

Who else do you think would have achieved more in a better set up.

Difficult to tell. Some times people play to thier full potential when surrounded by average players. Also they get more opportunities in mediocre team.

Except Morgan none of the other guys who tried thier luck with England succeeded eventhough they play well for Ireland.

Shakib is already a borderline atg, so he would have been a goat allrounder.

Tamim is a good Opener across all formats, but don't think he would've achieved the atg status had he played for a stronger team.

Rashid Khan is my favourite, the guy is full of potential. Imagine him bowling constantly on those Indian rank turners in tests. He would've taken wickets for fun against most of the non Asian teams and would've become the fastest to achieve 200 and 300 test wickets.

If Parthiv Patel, Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa had been born a few hundred miles west, they would have been country level ATGs, and celebrated team captains.

Kevin Pietersen. As much as England did for him, it also curtailed his career short. He had a lot of runs to offer during 2014-2017.

Many wouldn't have got an opportunity to play for a stronger team. Shakib wouldn't have played in the top five if he was playing for India and consequently wouldv'e scored much less than what he has now.

Not to divert from the associate players, just feel that plenty of Pakistani players could have achieved more in different setups.

Just look at the test numbers for some of our top players - even Akhtar and Yousuf - didn't really play the number of tests their abilities warranted.

Only now is our set up gaining consistency - and even then, results could vary.

Maybe if Fawad Alam had played for East Pakistan, he would have had a few thousand test runs by now?:fawad

I have always believed Shahid Afridi has over achieved as it is for Pakistan but he would have been a much better player if he was an Australian or Englishmen.

Any player would have benefited in stronger systems, but then they may have gotten less chance as well. It's not so easy to answer these questions.

Fawad Alam for Zimbabwe or Bangladesh. Would have been their GOAT batsman.

Maybe the likes of KL Rahul, Samson etc and other youngsters not getting a chance due to some seniors could accomplish more in other countries. I can see them walking into many international line ups.

KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa. These guys are international class batsmen. All four of them can keep wickets in T20s.

Most of Pakistan's second string pacers from over the years would have had a shout for being in India's all time Elevens if they were born in India

Raza Hasan I remember was once our next best thing. Mo Zahid the great fast bowling hope if coached better by an Australia would have avoided that career ending injury. Tamim Iqbal and Graeme Hick from yesteryear also come to mind. Maybe Kabir Ali as well for a Zimababwe or Scotland. Rudra Pratap and Irfan Pathan could have done much better as well for a New Zealand.

Shahid Nazir. .. I was like give him to us, you don't even pick him. He had a beautiful action and was pretty nippy. Could have walked into the 90's team!

not sure...

how many 50+ average batsman do Pakistan and India have?
By same token how many sub 25 bowling average do Pakistan and India have? (assuming minimum 25-30 test matches)

Stuart MacGill, Stuart Clarke, Simon Katich, Andrew Symonds, Nathan Bracken, Brad Hogg, Brad Hodge, Ben Hilfenhaus, Ryan Harris & Many Aus players during their peak era.

Arguably, SA or Australia would have lost patience with him before England did.

If Sachin played for Pakistan he would still have been the most loved cricketer in the world given Indian people's obsession with Pakistani celebrities plus a lot many trophies because havi mg a stunning bowling line up and lunch hitters all Pakistan ever missed was a dominating and consistent world class batsman at the too of the order.

Sachin is the player Pakistan always wanted.

Don't disrespect legends like Inzy bro, not cool

Stuart McGill , he would have been one of the best ever spinner for England ,had he born in England .

Pretty much any player who was not a part of the great West Indian and Australian teams.

No thanks, I'd take Viv or Lara instead.

Martyn Love, scored 2 double centuries in consecutive games against England

Nauman Anwar would have been a regular in most t20is side's.

Ishant and Munaf would have achieved more for any other country. Any fast bowler who played for India would have been better off playing for any other country in general.
