The interim foreign minister, Abdullah Hussain Haroon, has said that the PML-N emptied the exchequer before leaving.

“The previous government signed [approved] Rs200 billion after 5pm on the last day of its tenure,” he said, while speaking to the media in Karachi.

He revealed that when the interim government took charge and opened the books, they realised that there was no money.

Haroon said that the interim government had to make payments and there was an immediate need for Rs3 billion. Meanwhile, the dollar rate started rising, he said.

I think capital punishment is too far, it'll turn them into martyrs and alienate their entire families and supporters. Just lock em up for a long time and make them pay back every single CENT they owe + a penalty + interest. If they can't pay it upfront, then pay in monthly installments and if that's not still not possible then they should be employed as indentured labor.
