Positives

Fielding and bowling. Thought the fielding throughout the tour was fantastic, and in particular Shadab.

As a bowler he really has improved and will be inconsistent because of his age, but what I like about him is he's learning how to bowl on these pitches.

Negatives

My gripe was obviously the batting throughout the ODIs and the lack of any substantive innovation and ideas.

But the main crux of my irritation was the inconsistency of Faheem Ashraf's bowling.

He seemed to have bowled well against NZ in the ODIs, but even then he kept bowling short and wide with a splatter of fuller deliveries.

Why doesn't he learn from simple mistakes and fix the main issue? He did the same in the CT [SL] and continued with the same line and length when SL toured.

Positives
- Won the ODI series 5-0 despite not playing our best cricket
- Taylor seems to have found his power hitting
- Munro, heir to McCullum

Negatives
- Selections being poor
- Losing a series at home
- The phainty that awaits us against England and Australia.
- Kane Williamson, he was poor throughout both LOI series and struggles to scores against top quality bowlers.

Williamson did well in the ODIs, barring an innings here and there, no?

Negative - whitewashed in ODIs.
- Babar azam is strictly a t20 specialist.
- we got bowled out for 74.
- we never had a good opening start in 5 ODIs.
- tailenders batting better than middle order in ODIs.

Positive - boys can play t20 cricket?

I only see positives.
ODI: no more Malik and Hafeez
T20: carry on as you are

Faheem and Shadab are big positives on this tour. Both have shown improvements since making international debuts.

Big negatives are our batting is still a long way behind the best team. We need to find batsmen who can bat the modern way. Not ones who are spin bashers or sloggers.

I don't think we learnt anything new.

We know our ODI batting is underpowered compared to the top five teams. We're aware of Azhar's limitations in the format and Malik and Hafeez's weaknesses outside Asia. We know Sarfraz should bat in the top five. All the series did was confirm that.

However in T20s, we've earned our #1 ranking. Our bowlers are well equipped for 4 over spells whilst in Fakhar Zaman we have a quality explosive opener who can get quick starts for us.

Hopefully the PSL will spotlight an explosive opener and a quality new ball pacer.

Positive
Rumman Raees has improved
Negative
Rumman Raees hasn't improved

Possitivies:
1. Got rid from Mallik Azhar and Hafeez.
2. Found good all-rounders Fahim and Yamin(need to improve)
3. Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Babar, Shahzad, Harris Sohail, Umar Amin, Aamir Hasan have shown some character & performed well.

Negatives:

1. No new ball bowler to partner Aamir.

2. Fahim and Yamin ordinary with the ball.

3. Batsmen not playing long innings which is a major concern in longer format of the game.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Malik ain't goin' nowhere.

Positives: hafeez and Malik are on their way out.
Negative: we lost 6 games in order to make the above happen

Positives (ODIs):

- Potentially seen the end of Azhar, Hafeez and Malik
- Realized the importance of Junaid and/or Shinwari
- Reintroduced Harry to ODI cricket and started right from where he left
- Fahim Ashraf is a good enough bowler to bowl 8-10 overs in an innings
- Babar Azam hype has died down a bit
- For the first time in God knows when our fielding was better than a top 5 side
- Batting depth, with Hasan at #9 able to use the long handle and Amir at #10 quite competent himself
- Shadab Khan's clutch batting

Negatives (ODIs):

- Whitewash drubbing
- Listless batting and severe lack of power hitting
- Lack of bowling depth, with Hasan and Amir not performing the bowling seemed toothless
- Imam will continue to get selected
- Fitness of a couple of players has regressed spectacularly
- Fatigue crept in for some of the players due to playing leagues

Positives(T20s):

- Fakhar Zaman and his ability to rip apart bowling attacks, slowly establishing himself as one of the best openers in world cricket
- Shadab Khan is almost unplayable in this format
- Regained the #1 ranking spot
- First Asian side to beat NZ in NZ in a T20 series
- Amin and Haris batting in the middle order and finding boundaries and giving inputace to the innings
- Sarfaraz Ahmed realized the importance of him batting in the top 4
- Spectacular fielding
- Bowling that made sub-par score look much more difficult
- Muhammad Amir regained his form and got player of series
- Amir Yamin's batting at the death

Negatives (T20s):

- Ahmed Shehzad was recalled and he performed in one match ()
- Fahim Ashraf's batting, we had so much hope with him but he has let us down so far
- Babar Azam's lack of power hitting ability

Positives - Azhar, Hafeez out.

Negative - Shehzad fluking it in the second T20 and will probably open in the next series now that we have won this one.

Not sure how Faheem is a positive.

His bowling is still rubbish and his batting is very hit or miss - continues to get caught at fine leg after top edging pull shots.

Needs to improvea lot.

However - Aamir Yamin looks very good. Look forward to seeing him get more chances!

The same youngsters doing well so it isn't much of a positive. The emergence of a new player is something that is a positive. Overall the team management needs to realize that the squad which won the CT's does not have a consistent winning formula for modern day cricket and that the bare minimum strike rate in ODI's is now 90.

Can't criticize Fahim batting wise, in the last two T-20's he has come in when he needed to bang straight away. Can't criticize someone for putting the team's needs ahead of his stats. If you watch his batting in domestic cricket, the guy can hit big against pacers and it is only a matter of time before he plays that one blistering knock in international cricket.

All rounders take time to develop and Faheem will soon become world class.

I'll write after looking at Ul Haq's next squad.

As of now, only positive is 2-1 series win NZ and No. 1 ranking (haven't seen a single player whom I didn't know, or wasn't aware of capability).

Negative is that Arthur has stepped on snake tail - might get sacked, or his wings might be clipped.

Do you think Shehzad is a changed man?

Faheems bowling has improved a lot. He's picked up wickets. He wasn't this threatening when he started international cricket. Also he hasn't had enough chance with the bat . We need to send him up the order when we need to accelerate .

Yamin is a good player. He should have been included in the squad a while ago. His batting is what Pakistan need.

Ahmed Shehzad resurgence :ahmed:shezzy? Regarding Faheem in the t20's (aside from the first game) I think you could give him some leeway as he had to come in guns blazing from ball 1 to bolster the team score.

Do you think Shehzad is a changed man?

Attitude definitely - talking less (jumping less - you would have seen him closest to Sarfraz in that huddle few months back), and he is trying to score actually. Ahmed started well (he hit a run a ball 100 in NZ & SAF few years back), then he found the treatment of every PAK young players who tried to play aggressively - found his way to survive in the XI and it did work actually.

Now, he is trying to go after, which is a change. Few months back, I did write that he is still young and capable, if he can come out of his own trap, should make PAK team again. In any case, I'll take him as ODI opener over Azhar 7 days & 7 nights of week.

Don't forget Hafeez playing the ODI's was the biggest negative of all.

And Hafeez gettind dropped from the T20's and falling out with Mickey was the biggest positive of all lol

Lots of people mentioning Faheem as positive is a surprise for me.
In the ODI series he had good opportunities to bat well and turn matches. He didn’t manage it to it even once. His bowling was ok.

I want him to play and perform. I hope he gets another full series to prove him. But with Imad Wasim to return at some point, I am afraid he will be dropped.

Said it before in the other thread, and will say it again - Faheem needs to improve his bowling. Far too short & wide. Doesn't learn, and persists with the same delivery time & time again.

I didn't watch the match today but it looks like he had a horrible outing.

But in the previous matches, he did pretty well. Troubled the batsmen and looked the most likely pacer to pick up wickets in the ODIs. Also bowled well in the 2nd T20I.

That's the thing, I thought he was inconsistent in the ODIs.He'd bowl well in one spell, then bowl atrociously the next.

I'd like to see his pitch match, and if Azhar Mahmood says anything in-regards to his line & length. There's only so many wickets you'll take from short of length deliveries. I seriously think he needs to have a time-out and learn a bit more.

Negative:

Shehzad is back.

Positives:

Azhar and Malik's LOI careers are likely over. Not sure about The DON. :hafeez
