Under Dean Jones, we saw this team with the likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar, Malik, Waqas Maqsood and Afridi

Even in the overseas lot we saw Alex Hales, Bopara, Sangakara and even Eoin Morgan.

But what has really surprised me is that this team first gave away Malik, than they gave away Afridi, they even gave away Jason Roy and than we would also see Waqas Maqsood leaving.

But what was more astonishing was that they even allowed Rizwan and Babar off. They never gave Rizwan the proper number to bat on because Chadwick Walton was more important for KK and Babar was let go for the upcoming season.

Where is KK headed? They also had a talented spinner and Qasim Akram who they didnt even bother to play last season.

Has KK become the graveyard for Pakistani players?

Star players?

The guys who they let go had a sr of 90-109 as openers in the World Cup

It’s funny how the guy who can claim Suryakumar Yadav is the most overrated player can determine who is a ‘star player’ in T20 cricket

Babar Azam’s poor performance as captain and inability to make sacrifices by dropping down the to middle order are there for everyone to see

Well done KK for making the right move by off-loading him. They cannot do any worse than what they did last year

Splendid move and it was the need of the hour.

Karachi is the worst run franchise in the PSL. They have no strategy or direction, nor do they seem to posses any marketing nous.

This season they have assembled a squad full of golden oldies.

There is no long term vision.

Imo this franchise should be disbanded and Faisalabad Wolves or Sialkot Stallions should be revived instead.

“Agar woh Hamari team combination main nahi aata….

Tou Nahi Aata”

Golden words of truth. They won the PSL that year.

Let me state some more facts that will transpire with time. Just wait and watch…

Karachi Kings is just the beginning. Soon Babar Azam will be forced to step down as the captain of the national side.

Babar will not change his approach, or his position as a batsman whilst he remains captain for any T20 team. He will not become better. He will not become braver. He will not sacrifice his average or his hunger to reach 50 regardless of the pace his team requires.

KK is headed for greatness

Just another Karachi hater emotional because his fav players are let go.

Karachi is bigger than any other player.

Karachi is the BEST. Backbone of Pakistan and Pak cricket.

The truth. I am a Lahore fan but I applaud KK for doing what’s right, not what’s easy

Bigger than any other player how? Best at what?

The Karachi franchise is a joke and its a travesty that something which so much potential could be mismanaged and run into the ground.

Lahore has a decent PDP, PZ has the best brand and IU have won the most trophies.

KK suffer from a complete lack of investment and vision from its owner.

They should in the short term try to build a brand around Sharjeel and other players from Sindh & Karachi.

In the long term they need to follow the Lahore method for developing and recruiting players.

The name of Karachi is too big to be treated like this.

KK is a terrible look for PSL with the mix of fixers and shady characters they have. PCB should be looking for a clause to remove the current KK management and overturn this threatening culture that is brewing for the upcoming season. It wouldn't be surprising if a large fixing sandal happens with the likes of Akram, Amir and Sharjeel in the mix.

They will come good. Removing the tuk tukers was step 1. Wasim is fired up and getting rid of players who don’t fit our vision of ruthless aggression anymore.

Stay tuned.

More power

InshaAllah QQ v LQ final

KK is easily the most mismanaged side in PSL and it is very unfortunate as it represents arguably the biggest market. Since inception KK has not groomed a single emerging player for international cricket. The owner Salman Iqbal hardly takes an active role and treats the franchise basically as a marketing wing for ARY. Wasim Akram has said many times that he is not really interested in taking an active role in Pakistan cricket. He is basically there to put in some work for the one month period and collect a paycheque. I highly doubt Wasim has played any active role in scouting and/or recruiting.

Now they have let go the only star player in their squad in exchange for peanuts. Pakistan currently has maybe 5-6 domestic star players that have their own fan following and Babar and Shaheen top that list by quite a margin. Those that question Babar’s stardom must have their head buried quite deeply in the sand. To top it off KK recruited Haider Ali as a platinum player. Just goes to show how clueless the franchise is. Wasim Akram has been calling Haider Ali unfit and a poor fielder for the last month or so.

Easily the most mismanaged side?

They lost all of their games last year. Their captain is pretty much done at competitive T20 standard. How is it mismanagement to move him on?

I would argue that the Pakistan cricket team is the most mismanaged cricket team in the world.

"will come good" is a lot different than it being "the best" and "backbone of pak cricket".

In fact QG is probably the real Karachi whereas KK is a retirement home. I get you are anti-babar but removing him for Malik is a massive backwards step.

Hopefully they do eventually come good because it could be a globally watched international level rivalry between KK and LQ but these dimwits are misusing such a potent name.

I think you know better than to blame one person for the debacle of the last season. Where were Wasim, Sharjeel etc last year it was the worst squad in the competition by a mile with a nothing bowling attack. Let’s be honest Kk has been a terrible franchise since inception. The only reason they won the 2020 season was due to the pandemic and then ironically Babar Azam coming through in the semi finals and finals. Remember Babar Azam was man of the series that season.

Since inception, can you name one emerging player that KK has helped develop? Why is it that hardly any overseas player sticks with this franchise? Also, let’s not forget that Shoaib Malik was literally stripped of captaincy and shipped out after the first season and now he is back after all the drama that happened in the first couple of years. I am sorry but this franchise has been a disaster and it is really unfortunate for the people of Karachi.

True, it has the biggest market.

I just find it really annoying that this team had soo many star players and they just gave them away and for what?

You dont get babar and rizwan in one team, that is impossible and these guys had both. Just because they failed to utilize the players they end up blaming thebplayers and throwing them off.

They even had Iftikhar once upon a time which they would return to Islamabad.

This team keeps giving away star players and whats even more hilarious is the return.

Who the hell gives away babar aZam and takes haider ali in a platinum category?

Qasim akram and i think it was umer khan couldnt get matches in kk.
The franchise has become a joke

They want to keep players like sharjeel and imad and thibk they will bring the team back in winning position....

On the pavilion before this trade even took place it was asked by malik which team he has enjoyed the most in the psl. He said zalmi and wamted to stay with them.

He ends up getting tradr to kk few days later... Waseem akram was sitting their, dont you know a player didnt want to come yet you took him in?

Also i forgot to mention in op.

Mohammad Harris first came in Karachi Kings........ He joined peshawar much later.

This team has to be one of the most stupid teams out there. Even LQ came deadlast 5 times but they had enough sense regarding who to keep and who to trade away..

This team gave away rizwan and harris just to keep chadwick walton!
This team gave away babar azam just to get malik and haider ali in platenium.
This team even gave away iftikhar ahmed for a pick in draft
