If there is one thing that unites Indians and Pakistani, its the fact that they dont agree on anything :)

Anyways, an excellent post which should really be the spirit of things when we discuss IPLvPSL (why we do that is beyond me!)

Congratulations to Rishta Aunty for winning the POTW!

Wonderful thread. To be honest, I'm new here, but I find the incessant trolling to be distasteful. I'm a proud Pakistani supporter but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate good cricket. I'm proud of the PSL; the way it has come up despite unbelievable odds to be an established tournament is something to be very proud of. The IPL is and will remain the gold-standard for leagues; there's no shame in accepting that, or making claims that the PSL is somehow better. We just come across as bitter, and it's not befitting us. In fact, most Indians I've met in Canada, have been pretty positive towards the PSL; it's the Indian media that like to have a chip on its shoulder.

Let's just enjoy the cricket on show and back in the fact that players who were snarling at each other a month on opposing international teams are bum buddies in the same team.

THAT is the magic of franchise cricket and what made the IPL special when it launched. Seeing Symonds and Harbhajan get on, Laxman and Afridi share a laugh, Ponting and Tendulkar on the same team, and MOST importantly, Indians feel bad when Akmal drops another catch is what made it all special. It would be good if we can all get along and have a single league. Considering that Starc, Rabada and Cummins are injured and people like Laughlin are getting call ups, there is definitely place for Amir, Hasan and Junaid in the IPL.

Let's enjoy cricket and let it bring us together, not take us apart.

A very fine post by the best new addition to PP.

It is high time our fans overcome their IPL jealousy and phobia.

FYI there are enough people from Pakistan like the post above yours that appreciate and see IPL as the no 1 leauge in the world. So dont know what you mean by our fans...

Thanks for the compliment! I've enjoyed my (short) time here talking with cricket enthusiasts from all-round world brought together by their love for the game!

Not sure by use of word 'our' here. Nothing in your posts EVER seems to indicate any love for Pakistan cricket.

very balanced post .Unlike some of the posters more tilted towards india in a biased way and most of the posters towards pakistan.

That bold part was not necessary. You always selectively generalize whenever it comes to ANYTHING Pakistani. Deep rooted self loathing?

Never cared about IPL and Shaheen's 5fer's highlights aside never watched anything PSL either.

To OP: a fine post indeed. Congrats Rishta Aunty

Very sensible post, we need more people to think like you.

The OP's name alone deserves a POTW :))

Seconded!

Well deserved!!! First the name of the Op and then the Akmal joke. Remember lol when it was posted.

The PSL is here to serve Pakistan and the IPL, India. For financial reasons it will greatly benefit Pak Cricket if the PSL can be held in the country instead of the UAE. I look forward to the day that the PSL produces world class T20 and one day players for our national side. India and it's people have every right to enjoy the IPL. I do not have any problem in them banning our players at all. In fact, they have done us a favour it seems. Chances are we would have never formed the PSL had our players been allowed to play in the IPL.

Agree completely with this! I'm just saying no to the puerile comparisons and fighting that seems to be the case all the time. Liking the PSL = not hating the IPL and vice-versa.

I agree with this excellent post - I'm sick to death of half the new threads on here being some India vs Pakistan flamewar.

If its not people fighting over IPL/PSL comparisons or player comparisons, its the neverending MOU drama.

The scenes at the end of the CT final showed the players actually getting on with one another and talking like old friends - in stark contrast to the armchair nationalists who want to argue over every little trivial thing on the internet.

Agree. Last few days has been pak vs india on both time pass & cricket section and i was getting sick & tired of hearing the same stuff. Going through your post was a refreshing experience.
