Some seriously depressing times for Pakistan supporters and a real feeling that we are seriously dropping standards to the point where teams will no longer take us seriously.

Congratulations to Titan24 for a thought-provoking thread which has earned him POTW!

When we look at other teams as a bowler you need to bowl to

Bairstow
Roy
Hales
Rohit
Dhawan
Warner
Finch
Guptil
Tamim
Maxwell
Miller

etc

On the other hand we put forward Imam, Shan, Haris, Malik, Sarfaraz etc

No offense to any of these, they are all good players but considering the modern day ODI cricket and batsmen in some other teams as a bowler I would feel OK to bowl to them than against some names mentioned above.

Other than Fakhar on his day there is not a single batsman in the lineup to which opposition bowler will feel intimidated to.

Babar is an outstanding talent but even against him if you can keep it tight he rarely does dominate you all around. Yes he can easily hit balls which are bad, which give roam or the ones on the pads but rarely dominates on good balls even in the middle or end of the innings.

The only players who look bit intimidating in PSL were Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ahsan Ali to an extent, Kamran Akmal or Umar Akmal on occasions.

That bit of fear confuses bowlers and do funny things with the brain which with our current lineup rarely happens.

Think as a bowler, is there anyone you will feel intimidating to in Pakistani lineup, one who can dominate you and tear you apart?

Excellent post by an excellent poster!

Well deserved Titan24

A very underrated poster. However, I hold him in very high regard and always read his posts.

Excellent post. Any ideas how to solve it before world cup?. These are your best players at the moment. Its better to motivate and support them before world cup rather than to keep reminding them they are not good enough. Pakistan won Champions Trophy in England with these same players. Personally, i believe names don't mean much in the end. World cup also presents an opportunity for a new player to make his name and get glory. I think the team with most number of players who are motivated, hungry and able to raise their game under pressure is gonna win the WC.

Fantastic post. Our players lack the ability to play all over the pitch unlike players from other countries. I don't see much big hitting on the offside from our players.

Excellent post, very thought provoking indeed.

Thanks a lot admins for the award and thanks to all the posters for your appreciation.

Titan hit the nail on the head. PCB seems content with taking the safer option and depending on luck to win its 50 over games. However, we have posters here who will vehemently deny Imam ul Haq to be replaced by Umar Akmal

A very good post indeed. We dont have the x factor anymore.

I still think that asif ali is quite over rated on PP. You wouldnt count on him to hold the ship if you were 30/3 or 50/4, would you?

Good Post.

The players in our squad are players that you almost don't want to get out because the longer they play the less likely they are to play a decisive innings.
