So the action moves to a different format.

Pakistan have a good chance of making an impact in this format but can they match the firepower that the Australians have?

Pakistan haven't won an ODI series against Australia since 2002. This is an opportunity for Pakistan to break the streak.

With Aus missing a few key players, hopefully Pakistan can overpower the Aussies.

Doubt this white-ball leg will garner much hype or excitement after those dismal 15 days of Test cricket played by Pakistan though.

3-0 to Australia ODI is Pakistans weakest format and Australia even without top players will be too good for us add to it the pathetic pitches Ramiz will serve up

3-0 Australia. wont even be competitive this series.

If Aus bat first they will score 350 Pak to lose by 70 80 runs If Pak bat first they will score 270 280 Aus to win by 4 wickets we've made some Australian legends out of Odi series with them over the years Simon Katich David Hussey Brad Hodge Brad Hogg Ryan Harris Doug Bollinger

I hope Australia win 3-0. But Pakistan could fluke a win against an under strength Australian team.

Finally the bubble has burst. Pakistani fans are back to the earth after being on the moon since the T20 WC, where most Pakistani fans started thinking that Pakistan are some sort of world beaters.

Australia to win 3-0. Pakistani ODI squad is even worse than the test squad.

This is how the series will most probably pan out.

Imam will score 1 single digit score after wasting quite a few deliveries, 1 score in mid twenties & then 1 fifty probably to save his place in the side.

Fakhar will score few quick runs but not enough to make any impact.

Babar will score runs but most probably his runs would be soft & impact less.

Rizwan Going to be a very bad series for Rizwan as a batter.

Don't even know who else they're going to play in the team.
But Hassan Ali will get an epic phainti in all the matches he will play.

Shahdab should have a decent series as a bowler but he's not going to be impressive

Shaheen few decent spells here & there but nothing impressive.

This is a weakened Aussie side without Starc Cummins Josh Smith Labu, Aussie B side so Pakistan should win 3 - nil.

This is a good preparation for the next World Cup I hope the boys are thinking about winning instead of taking selfies and be good sport to their heroes :afridi

keep Hasan Ali out. Bring in Shan Masood and Naseem Shah to win the series.

Pakistan need to get 300+ I would have included Saud but I don't want Rizwan or Saud batting below before 4.khushdil and Iftikhar can bowl 6 overs between them.

Abdullah
Fakhar
Babar
Rizwan
Iftikhar
Khushdil
Shadab
Asif Afridi
Rauf
Shaheen
Dahani

Pakistan are a poor ODI team, it is either Babar or burst for them in ODIs...
They cant stand against top ODI teams... Last time they won a ODI series against Aus , cant even rmb...

3-0 to Aus

Australia are a top white ball side

And our bowling is so poor I fear the worse on traditional odi phattas , expect some serious hammering.

I always like to back my team Pak, but now after witnessing how defeatist bunch we have from captain to chairman, I doubt we would be able to win any game against AU. A 1-2 result in ODIs will be a miracle. OZs will do everything in their power to clean sweep the ODIs and the lone T20 with their aggressive brand of cricket. The less we talk about THIS Pak cricket team, the better.

By the way, I would like to see in this thread those who were backing Babar as a captain for Karachi Kings making excuses that he did not have good enough support, do show up after this series. I have not seen any of those champs here for a while. Let see what Rizwan and Babar style of opening achieves against this OZ side.

Pak are a shambles in ODI cricket.

At least there is some hope with the Test side, whilst the T20 team can beat the top teams and has a chance of lifting silverware.

Australia white-ball captain Aaron Finch expects Mitchell Marsh to miss the entire three-match ODI series (due to injury), with Cam Green to fill the void.

So does that improve Pakistan's chances?

3-0 to Australia with one heavy victory one nail biting win and one routine win

2-1 Pakistan

We have a very good Loi side playing at home - don’t underestimate us

Pakistan should Beat Australia in the odis.

Australia are missing all their main players, so in theory Pakistan should be winning 3-0 but again anything can happen with Pakistan. England stood up a B side overnight and still managed to beat Pakistan 3-0 albeit in their home. But still you would expect Pakistan at home should be able to defeat this Australian side.

Pak are a much better ODI side than a test side.

Should be an easy 3-0 to Pak given Australia 3rd class squad. However, I think it'll be a tight series with Pak winning 2-1

Australia is severely depleted.. No Marsh, Smith, the pace trio. Only Finch and Zampa can be dangerous.
3-0 to Pakistan.

I look at the batting line up and I get flashbacks of the champions trophy squad in 2013.

Babar has turned into Misbah, Imam ul Haq is our Ahmad Shahzad and a non existent middle order.

This only means one thing, bring back Sharjeel, Umar Akmal and make Shaheen the captain.

Sharjeel has dug a big hole for himself - the bigger he gets, the bigger the hole to come out of.

A lot of doom and gloom in this thread, only for Pakistan to be quite comfortably on the way to a 2-1 series victory.

Well done, Pakistan.

They seemed down and out but they pulled things back. That 349 run chase was impressive.
