It depends on the pitches we make and our spin-bowling attack.

Ideally, you'd want some turn on the pitch because most of these guys could be weak against it.

Shadab will most likely play, but we need another spinner in the mix as well.

Faheem should not play because his stats in ODIs do not merit a selection.

I wouldn't be so sure, NZ have become a nation that's improved greatly against spin in my eyes.

Agree about Faheem i would back M. Waseem Jr.

Will M. Waseem be the chief selector for this series? I'm hearing from the grapevine and media reports he's being let go. This is an outrage, he was the best selector in my view we've had in ages.

Pakistan need to win this series to improve their rankings - We should field the best team we have.

2-1 New Zealand. New Zealand to win the first 2, pakistan to take the dead rubber.

3-0 to NZ.

We’re a crap ODI side regardless of where we play.

3-0 against a depleted NZ Side at home. Pakistan fans surely have lowest standard's and expectations for the team, and hence the team is also content with mediocrity knowing the fans don't expect much anyway.

Pak 2-1
NZ is a depleted side whereas Pakistan is a full strength team and at home ground.

Seeing how New Zealand played today vs Bangladesh (even though different format) - Pakistan will be disappointed of they dont win.

Think we'll win 2-1.

People are really underestimating this squad, a lot of these players are fringe players or will be a part of the strongest XI in a few years time.

Bangladesh have really horrible pitches, if you saw the match you can see the balls kept really low whenever the spinners were on.

Still SENA countries are terrible players of spin. Especially Aus and Eng.

I would really like to see Nawaz utilised properly, I think people are forgetting what he can bring with the ball come the WC.

Pakistan should not loose a single ODI to this pathetic B grade NZ team.

But then again Pakistan has set very low standards in ODIs off late.

A JAMODI series with literally nothing to see. No developing players, no interesting contests, no superstars.

Therefore, what's the difference if it's 3-0 to NZ or 3-0 to Pak?

Allen, Ravindra and Sears? These 3 are likely going to be regular fixtures in the NZ team over the next 10 years.

Will Young is most likely going replace Taylor after the WC and Finn Allen and Ravindra will eventually be regular fixtures for NZC across formats over the next decade. Likely be our top 3 players if they realize their potential and perform on the international level.

They're the next two big stars from NZ, seriously. Excited to see them get a chance to play against good opposition.

Either it will be a whitewash or it will be 2-1 for newzealand

I was praying for NZ to lose all their games in both Bangladesh and Pakistan tours after sending out their B team, now I’m praying that NZ beat us 8-0 on this tour. It’s the only way we’ll see changes being made for the WT20. Hopefully Asif Ali continues playing the way he does.

Doubt it would be 2-1. They've really struggled, Colin DeGrandhomme has been in poor touch. The only good batsmen i see in that line up are Young and Nicholls apart from that they bring nothing special.

Praying for Dahani to get a maiden ODI cap, boy deserves it and i want him to showcase his talent.

Our main fear should be Azam Khan.
Even if he clicks one sixer he will be crowned 👑 as king and we shall have to suffer for another 20 years under his enormous weight

Asif is a poor guy. He will be kicked out after one failure.

Mohammad Nawaz has tested positive for Covid-19 and has been quarantined as per the PCB Covid-19 Protocols. The left-arm spinner had tested positive during the second round of testing, which were administered upon arrival in Islamabad on Wednesday.

All other squad members have tested negative and, as such, the national side will hold a training session as scheduled on Friday at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

The New Zealand side will arrive in Islamabad on Saturday for three ODIs and five T20Is, which will be played from 17 September to 3 October.

3 - 0
Dont think NZ are that flash against spin in SC conditions
did'nt do as well against BD
pak start fav and should aim for clean sweep.

I doubt they will play dahani ahead of shaheen Hassan Ali and even wasim but hopefully he does

He deserves a debut and it's sad not to back him. We have time and need to play him to see what he's got at least in the NZ t20s.

Eleven September is the date when New Zealand men’s national cricket team will land in Pakistan after 18 years and Blair Tickner, Dough Bracewell and Tom Blundell have made no secret of their excitement to be touring the country for the first time.

The historic tour of New Zealand to Pakistan will commence with the three One-Day Internationals at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, after which the two teams will play five T20 Internationals at Pakistan’s home of Cricket, Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Blair Tickner: “We are very excited to get to Pakistan and play on their wickets. It is a bit disappointing that we will be not be able to see the beautiful country as we are stuck in a bubble. But, we are looking forward to play cricket there.”

Tom Blundell: “It is very exciting for us to tour Pakistan, as none of us has ever been there. I have heard it is a beautiful country. They are a very good white-ball team and I think this tour will be challenging for us, but it is an exciting opportunity for all of us to go there.

“It is really pleasing to see Pakistan play in front of their fans again and this experience is going to be very exciting for both sides. We have been playing in empty stadiums, but it will be very exciting to play in front of Pakistan fans.

Doug Bracewell: “Lads are excited for the tour. The results were disappointing for us here in Bangladesh but we are now looking forward to play in Pakistan.”

Pakistan will seriously dent the confidence of this kiwi team, even the main team wouldn't have been affective against Pakistan in subcontinent.

3 - nil :moyo

Hopefully both of wasim and dahani play in the t20s it can be a shoot out between the two.

Pakiatan should play some of the bench players and should stil beat them 3 nil

Trust me yaar we need unknown territory and someone with pace, Dahani has worked hard on his wicket taking ability as well as the ER. I would hope they give him a shot!

He does have pace and is unknown let's wait and see how he does and we should not change his action and make him a different kind of bowler.

There are players in this squad that baffle me that they are there. Anyways I can easily see this team getting butchered or battered by New Zealand team.

People seem to have crazy concept here. Kiwis will give us a good game mark my words. The only matches bangladesh won were the ones which they made spitting pitches

I will be surprised if pakistan can win one game here

What's so surprising about Pakistan winning one game ? Pakistan is playing at home and NZ are sending a C Squad. Pakistan are starting as favorites, there's no need to do so much anti jinxing.

Pakistan-New Zealand ODIs status changed

Islamabad, 11 September 2021:

Pakistan Cricket Board and New Zealand Cricket have mutually agreed to change the status of next week’s ODI series to a bilateral series from the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League fixtures due to the non-availability of Decision Review System (DRS), a requirement in the event playing conditions.

As New Zealand will return to Pakistan in the 2022-23 season to play two Tests and three ODIs, the two boards have agreed that these 50-over matches will now count towards the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 qualification.

This was a good opportunity for Pakistan to get 30 points against a depleted NZL side. Good for the kiwis though.

Details of the Intra-squad practice match for the Pakistan ODI squad

Batting first, Team White scored 267 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 35 overs

Captain Shadab Khan retired after scoring 96 off 42 balls - He hit 10 sixes and 4 fours

Fakhar Zaman scored 72 runs with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes

Iftikhar Ahmed remained unbeaten on 53 runs

Usman Qadir took 2 wickets

Shadab hitting 10 sixes scoring 96 off 42, Ramiz’s words being heard. :smith

2-1 NZ - even with players missing they will do well and have dominated in most format for quite a while now. plus are current ODI is pretty mediocre.

Pakistan has the better team for these conditions and should win 3-0 but you know they’d end up losing a test or even 2.

Edit: no tests? Idc then

The conditions will suit the kiwis..the pitches im bangladesh were awful ..the good ones were where kiwis won

Kiwis will play as a Team , not looking at individuals to bail them out. Also kiwis fielding will save at least 20 runs every game.

If Shadab Khan is scoring 96 off 42 vs our bowlers then I dread to think what Sharma and Kohli will do with them😂🤣

No TV on the 24th for me.

NZ will be competitive no matter who they play. They are not a team of overrated so called superstars like Pak but hard workers and grafters.

Zahid Mahmood, Iftikhar Ahmed and Haris Rauf took one wicket each

"I am really excited about the chance of playing here in Pakistan" : Matt Henry

Matt Henry speaking to the press:

"I thought the guys did a great job in Bangladesh in very challenging conditions but as the series got on the guys did score some important runs but everyone understands that the tour of Pakistan will be completely different, with wickets being a little more batting friendly but the bowlers will be in the game just as much so we are all excited about playing some cricket here"

"Yes, its been a long time [since our last visit] and I know the guys are very excited to come here and play in new conditions; We will be up against a very strong Pakistan side in their home conditions but everyone in our team is up for the challenge"

"We have got new guys in the squad who would have gained a lot from their experience in Bangladesh which will be brilliant coming into this series; But we still have a lot of players who have played a lot of cricket in different conditions including the UAE, India and other sub-continental conditions and they will have a bit of a better understanding in terms of what to expect and I am really excited about the chance of playing here in Pakistan"

"I have been lucky to have played Pakistan a number of times in the past and its always been a great contest with the Pakistan players; I remember the game in the 2019 World Cup where there was a strong Pakistan crowd and it was a great experience there, and I feel it will be no different here where we will have some crowds here as well"

"Across the board, the Pakistan squad has a lot of depth; If you look at them over the last few years there has been a great stock of fast-bowlers as well; Whilst I haven't been here before but the fact that they are producing some great quicks here means that hopefully the surfaces might have something for us too so I am looking forward to what's out there too"

"Not only Babar Azam but the rest of the side has guys with a lot of experience and they are very strong as well, so we are doing our preparations under the knowledge that they will be very strong under their own condition"

"The positive side of having a World Cup squad selected and a lot of new guys is going to create a lot of depth in general but even the guys who are relatively new have a lot of experience as do the guys who are experienced in international cricket; So this will be great preparation for the World Cup and the guys who are on the fringes, there is a chance of playing some cricket and win some series and they are ready to go"

"This is day one and we are in isolation so we haven't got a chance to experience of the local cuisines but I do love my food, so I will be looking forward to some recommendations and trying out some local cuisine as I am sure they will be brilliant"

"We are just waiting for our COVID-19 results and once clear over the next 24 hours or so, we will be able to start training over the next few days"

"There is definitely a good buzz around the team; The way the guys adapted to the conditions in Bangladesh was a great sign for this squad and has helped us move to Pakistan with confidence"

Just saw the highlights lol

Out of 10 sixes
8 against Saud Shakeel
1 against Usman Qadir
1 against Mohammed Wasim Jr

Also the boundaries were brought in to practice on the pitches on the end.

Not much to look into 😂😂

Pakistan should take it 2-1
Only think they need to be careful is Express pace of some nz pacers. Spinners and batsmen are nothing to talk about

Wonder if Pakistan will ever take a decision like this as in different squads.

Shadab is on the T20 WC as a bowler.

He should be worried about his bowling.

His batting will make no difference.

Its a big occasion , finally a "white" team arrived in Pakistan , officially ending the 12 years of isolation of Pakistan cricket . If New Zealand can come, any team can come now .
