Abdullah719 Please add a poll. I'm personally going for a 1-1 this time. The pink ball greentop at Adelaide should favour Pakistan's medium fast attack led by Abbas. First test win in Australia in 24 years coming up.

I would agree with you about the Pink Ball greentop if:

1. Pakistan had picked Mohammad Amir, who is so good with a pink ball.

2. Pakistan had picked Shadab instead of Yasir (the spinner will barely bowl, but will need to score runs after the inevitable top order collapse as the light changes rapidly straight after Dinner).

Really you need almost a totally different set of players for a pink ball Test at Adelaide compared with a red ball one at Brisbane.

It’s arguably fair enough to select players like Azhar, Yasir and Naseem at Brisbane.

But for the unique conditions at Adelaide, where you need quick runs in daylight followed by a fast-medium attack to bowl under lights, the most important Pakistan players for Adelaide in order were actually:

1. Mohammad Amir
2. Mohammad Abbas
3. Shadab Khan
4. Babar Azam
5. Mohammad Rizwan
6. Faheem Ashraf
7. Umar Akmal
8. Shan Masood
9. Ehsan Adil

Adelaide with a pink ball is just weird. It’s the one place in Australia where Shaheen Shah Afridi would be less useful than Ehsan Adil!

2-0 Australia easily. Smith and Warner in their home grounds are unbelievable, now way of getting them out with out inexperienced attack.

Yiu obviously haven't seen Shaheen bowl then. He nips it around more than anyone else in the team.

Australia start off as clear favorites but Pakistan can always surprise.

I vote 2-0 to Australia but it can easily be 1-1.

Pink ball or red ball, who"ll get smith out.

According to me this is going to be a totally one sided series and smith will be dismissed just once in 4 innings.

now you guys make it seem like pakistan are minnows rofl. People are going to be surprised. I am predicting 1-1. Pakistan's issues are consistency which has always been a problem from them sinc imran's days as captain. When they are on form pakistan is easily one of the best teams around.

I think we have a decent chance at Adelaide provided we don't play Yasir.

Brisbane is not happening.

Both games to be finished in 3 days

Can somebody tell me how many test pak have won in Australia?

Is it 1?

2-0 , likely with very big margins.

Azhar and asad are finished , imam and babar have yet to find their feet in test cricket , hope that haris sohail is not mentally shot by the horror show in t20s. Bowling is inexperienced and slow , lol for the love of god we have imran khan juinor in the squad. Yasir shah in australia is a lost cause.

2-0 Australia, their attack is very strong compared to Pakistan's brittle batting, and pakistan bowling is raw

As I have said before, I believe Pakistan will perform better than expected in test format.

I want Australia to win and hopefully end the careers of Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq.

Can’t even play T20
And you expecting Pakistan to do well in test ?
Watch strac destroying them and Imran Khan going for 200 runs

The last time pakistan won a test match against australia in australia was in 1995 , after that pakistan hasnt even manabed to draw a single match in australia. We came close 3 times i think , hobart 1999 , sydney 2010 and brisbane 2016. After 1995 pakistan have lost 12 test matches in a row in australia.

So where does all the optimism come from?

Fans were saying we were going to whitewash Australia in the t20s

That's why I think we should cancel yours to Australia until we become more competitive

I don't see Pakistan winning a single session. T20s was always going to end in a whitewash, but Tests will be worse.

Australia should test it's bench strength.

depends how much rain there is i guess..if for 4 days we might get a draw

2-0 Australia - unless its rains for 10 days.

2-0 Australia with one of the games being an innings lose for Pakistan

It will be a major shock if Pakistan doesn't lose both games by an innings+

I don't expect Pakistan to score over 220 in an innings in either test

We have a decent chance of winning the Test series though. Exciting bowling attack. The batsmen are decent, so are the Australians, but the major difference will be Smith, if we get him out early then we can shock them. I predict 2-0 win for us. Yes, we are winning for the first time ever I guess, in Australia.

1-1 is my prediction , very optimistic though .

Predict we.will nick a win in Adelaide in a thriller

I'd be amazed if it's not 2-0 to Australia with both matches finishing in 3 or 4 days.

2-0 is a given. Anything else will be a very very very big deal for Pakistan.

2-0 to Aus.

Here's hoping that we can catch Australia under lights and bundle them out for less than 150. That's our only chance.

We need to somehow bat first at the gabba.

We just need imam Shan haris and Azhar to blunt the new ball and then Babar and Asad should be able to take the game to the Aussies back end of day 1 and day 2.

I am confident that shaan will score runs and I expect a lot of haris ( he's worried me in the t20s slightly)
Imam and Azhar with a bit of luck can do a job.

If bowlers are coming back for 3rd spells by the time Babar and Asad come to the wicket we can post 450.

Then it's a case of a couple of early wickets and it's game on.

I just hope the batters are prepared enough to make the most of the opportunity.

If we have to bowl first at the gabba however and have picked Yasir... That is not worth thinking about

Australia will win but it won't be so easy.
Pakistan is still an international team and one can't write them off at all.
We saw last time that they came close to winning a test. Could happen this time as well.

Naseem has a nice outswinger, Shaheen can get the ball to nip around. Abbas can do both of those things. The pitch will be grassy, light fading, I do believe they can do it.
And you expect Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail to score runs in the same conditions vs Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins?
:misbah4

I am surprised that there is a thread on this, Pakistan gets whitewashed in Australia, I thought this is common knowledge.

No. What I mean is that hopefully we can have them start batting at the start of the evening session when batting is the toughest, that is our only chance of getting them out for a low total.

A drawn series will be the best outcome for Pakistan. But seems unlikely

2-0 Australia. I cannot see us winning in Australia in the next 50 years. Mentally too weak.

In the last decade a full strength Australian team has only been beaten twice on their home turf (Once in 2010-11 Ashes and then by SA in 2016-17) so this tells how much difficult it is to beat Australia in Australia when they have all their resources available.

Why do you say 2010-11 was full strength? Do you mean full strength as in the best playing 11 in Aus?

I voted 2-0 to Australia but now I changed my opinion 1-0 to Australia
Expecting one draw match

1-1 as Pakistan’s bowling and batting seems a little bit more balanced this time around ..

On a side note Pak was unbeaten in a test series at home for this decade before Srl and NZ won. So you never know. :smith
