So 3 ODIs and this should be a little more testing for Pakistan especially given their last ODI performances in the Asia Cup weren't that good.

So can Kane Williamson and men beat Pakistan in the UAE in ODIs?
 
I hope I'm proven wrong but I think New Zealand will take it 2-1 or 3-0.

A lot relies on how Hafeez and Babar perform.

We barely won against Afghanistan and lost comfortably against Bangladesh.

We lost 2-1 in 2009 and 3-2 or 4-1 in 2014 I believe.

Other teams just play better ODI cricket than us in UAE.
 
Three nil to Pakistan again..

Asia cup was an aberration.
 
2 -1 NZ - they will start as favs having beaten Pak 5 - 0 in the home leg earlier this year.
 
Every half decent team has beat Pak in every freakin match in the last one year.

We haven't won a single match.

Straight loss of 7 matches.

Anything less than a whitewash at our home against NZ will only show our true picture. Which is, we're just a mediocre ODI side.

A firm believer of always backing your team.

We have some very good players now and a balanced ODI team.
On this wickets I fully expect Barbar, Hafeez & Iman to score heavily with Malik, Fakhar and the others to chip in. Also our spin bowling will be the difference.

The only thing that can stop this team's progress is the newly appointed Cricket Committee...
 
2-1 Pakistan. In these conditions we may edge NZ although they have a very good fight in Indian conditions a year or so ago.

We need to change our fortunes in bilateral ODI series in UAE. We get thrashed by most top teams. Need to change that.

3-0 to pakistan, Williamson will only narrow the defeat to probably 40 to 50 runs and most of the other batsman apart from taylor wont even cross 20.
 
Pak high on confidence, they may contain NZ and win it by 2-1. Selection for PAk is going to be tricky!

Fluke cant be happen twice, fluke was also going to be happen in Afghanistan game as well. Fluke did happen in Bangladesh game too. I really hate to say that our middle order and lower middle order is crap. I think we will be dependable with Fakhar, Babar, Hafeez and Imam beside them rest are not good enough to face the pressure. I hope Malik gets his form back

These days PAK's series had been extreme : 5-0 v SRL, 0-5 v NZL, 5-0 against ZIM, 3-0, 3-0 in recent T20s.

I think we're on a roll, confidence is high Imad and Shadab are bowling well, while Sodhi didn't look as impressive as I thought he'd be in the T20 series.

We've always had ability to do well in the UAE. We'll be fielding a stronger side than the one in Asia Cup too and while NZ are a good side, we should have home advantage, in the asia cup we were playing against teams who thrived in asian conditions, home advantage was less apparent. I know our record has been terrible in the UAE in the past in ODIs, but logically that really shouldn't be the case, and I don't think it'll be the case this series.

SENA countries will loose most of their matches against us at home cause they still dont know how to play spin properly.

2-1 to Pak. Hafeez is in supreme touch and New Zealand don’t have spinners to trouble Pak

What are you talking about? Malik looked the only in-form batsman in the Asia Cup. You can’t see he’s not in form based on a couple of short T20 Innings.

He got enough time to settle his innigns in both T20 series but he couldn't have done it. However I hope you're right. But we can't be dependable on these guys every time.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if Pak lost the series, but let's see what happens.

Our batting stats against non-minnows this year is shocking.

Celebrating T20I victories doesn't mean we are delusional and that we suddenly think we are #1 in every format. ::J

Would be nice to just win tomorrow and end this awful streak of 11 losses in a row against NZ, for starters.

But Sarfraz thinks they can carry the T20I momentum into ODIs, actually helping them win. :usman

Yes, we are a better ODI team than T20 team and it will be clear for all to see in the future.

Yeah, he should say that we have lost 11 in a row and are looking forward to a 12th. Are you for real?

Momentum is an important thing and he's hopeful they can make it count, that's all. What's the big deal?

OK. Let's see what they actually do on the ground. Winning the series is a minimum must required. If we don't whitewash them in conditions tailor made for us, I'll let it go. :najam

We all know that Pakistan is on a 11 consecutive series winning streak in t20's but few people know that we have lost last 11 odi's to NZ, which is awful, so can Pakistan end this losing streak or will NZ extend it to 14-0 ?

I would be very dissappointed if we dont win the ODI series. I mean if we can beat NZ in UAE then what are our chances elsewhere?

With Imad back in the team and Hafeez in hot form I would say Pakistan are favourites.
