Games are slated for Nov 10 and Nov 11. But doesn’t say which one will be group 2 winners v2 group 1 runner up.

Does anyone know or is this all to make sure India plays at a certain venue no matter what?

like everything else, they will wait to see where india places and schedule accordingly to get the most viewers

BCCI did have some influence and tbh this was to be expected.

However this clearly backfired because they expected beating Pakistan would be a formality.

Instead Pak are on fire and now they are under big pressure to win otherwise they could be out if they don’t win against NZ. Even their game against Afghanistan could be tough.

after having played against the only 3 teams that have legitimate chance to advance, all in the span of 1 week. Do you think India has ever had to experience that? Do you think pakistan needs a weeks rest to get ready for namibia? while india gets a weeks rest to focus on NZ?

India doesn't have to move anywhere. They play all matches in Dubai. Also even the semis are undecided so that they are kept in Dubai. It's not only this WC. It has been happening every ICC tournament after 2007. You can check yourself.

Is it a good idea to tour/play so soon after a major event?

Is it a good idea to tour so soon after an ICC tournament? Forget for a moment who the opposition is, it could be Bangladesh, England or India.

Advantages:

• Move on quickly for a painful loss
• Opportunity to try and tinker with the team
• Financially of course for both countries

Disadvantages:

• Mental wellbeing especially in the current covid climate
• Physical fatigue - how much travelling, practising and playing is involved these days
• If it’s a successful tournament (winning for big teams and going far for smaller teams) then no time to celebrate and enjoy the moment
