PSL 2018 Match 12: Islamabad United defeat Lahore Qalandars in Super Over after another LQ collapse

A moment of silence who called this "embarrassing" and "poor" both of them seem to have been booted out from the thread. Goes to show cricket can be exciting even in low scoring matches. babajee

Being very poor and embarrassing is often exciting. Considering how awful it is, the PSL has the ability to make you laugh and cry at the same time, so I do think it is exciting. I will give it that.

Does anybody agree that Fleming has been a wonderful addition to the PSL comm box?

In fact both Slats and Flem are a God send.

If you have U Akmal in the side as a fielder. i think his best place is at no.11 or 1.

You can call it negative rubbish if you wish, but this season is the straw that broke the camel's back as far as I am concerned. Moreover, the fact that people can be delusional enough to find this good quality cricket is even more disheartening.

As far as religion is concerned (it is off-topic, but I would reply out of courtesy), I struggled it for years, but I finally found solace in the fact that a big part of religion is nothing but blind faith, and I think blind faith can be beautiful at times.

There is no logic in religion because it is illogical to begin with. That is why I am bemused to see people proving that their religion is better than someone else's religion, even though the only reason they follow a certain religion is because they were born into it.

If the shoe was on the other foot, they would be defending the religion they are criticizing now. I was confused about religion till the stage of my life where I had not embraced the fact that I - along with billions of people - am guilty of believing that cannot be logically and rationally explained.

I mentioned religion because you were very on the fence and defensive before and I see that you seem to have outgrown that. Knowledge and not staying in Pakistan may have accelerated the process.

I do however think that you are exaggerating the Pakistan shaming (You are right mostly but I think this is becoming your raison d'être of late) but if you do actually go back after your internship (Or are you just in your MMBS stage?, I opted out after the 4th year when we actually had to use cadavers), I seem to have lost my chain of thought atm but you could have a more positive outlook as you will be going back to improve the situation back there.

Whether you do or not is up to you and I am in no position to judge but it's better if you do decide to go back to be ready for all these setbacks and have the resolve to actually try to make a change.

These attention seekers aren’t worth attention :hafeez

Agha Salman and Hussian Talat products of PSL 2018

Just tuned in, what's going on ?!

I see Sahibzada Farhan bombed and Hussain Talat, Fahim Ashraf and Shadab Khan were batting in the tail for IU.

Fakhar Zaman opened with the new ball for LQ ? Why's Samit Patel bowling like a demon ?!

It's amazing to think that Rambo was PAK Captain for 3 years, appointed twice and he was CEO of PCB.

forget about the call. just look at the way he was dangerously playing the sweeps from the word go. it's only 120 to chase and you already know your team can collapse. at least he should have sense to play with more straight bat. problem is his off side game has gone non existent in all these years he has been away from the team so he lines up anything bowled by spinners or pacers to the midwicket. perfect sign of sloggers. it's shame because he used to have such a good offside game as well.

Yeah I noticed that as well. He used to play well on the off side too. Nowadays he tries to slog everything on to the leg side. His technique has deteriorated.

Agha looks like a player. Its as if he feels he belongs at this level whereas some of the other young players dont have a clue as to what approach to take against good bowlers.

Ul Haq needs to go for prayers - no way, he should watch Aga Salman batting. It's risky for MoHa Malik.

Off side game is touch game, because you can't put power of bottom hand, unless it's a cut. Hardly any PAK batsman has offside game because of these wickets in UAE and home.

I'm not saying putting the ball into stands..you can get boundaries through the offside especially against spinners. He is just reckless and being reckless is not that bad we know Maxwell also plays like that but I doubt Umar has half the brain Max has. I like attacking cricket but Umar has just become a blind slogger. look at Agha Salman..even mac who struggles against spin so much is playing with more cautious in this very important game.

Agha is playing really well here. He is taking the game away from Islu.

I am falling in love with this Agha Salman guy.

its funny to think umar akmal who has experience of a decade has brain size of a monkey compare to this agha salman

Put this guy at 3 next game

Won't survive - his game is not developed yet for fast bowling. That expansive bat swing looks great, but pacers will sneak through bat-pad. No. 4/5 is perfect for him.

You are still confused about religion.

Do you think he has potential?

Faheem's indipper could get him today.

Agha has a pretty mediocre domestic record - maybe Mccullum is having an impact on him

He’s an overrated bowler.

Well he has performed exceedingly well with the ball since his debut so he has built a reputation. However he needs to be careful about not letting it get to his head.

I think at 19 he will improve especially as a spinner. Right now his fielding alone gets him in the national team.
There’s better leggies in Pakistan, he has more potential as a batsman. But Misbah is playing him at 10

Only God knows the reason behind playing Talat so low down the order. Islamabad basically batsmen all the way to number 10 today

Ball is turning square today hence spinners opening for both teams.

Samit Patel was demon because the Akmal made him look like one. Fakhar his other victim was actually not out but LQ didn't review.

Can't really tell that much about Agha yet, other than he's at least playing the ball on it's merit, that in itself is something for a Pakistan batsman. Seems to have a cool head on him which is refreshing.

Islamabad is an unlikeable team just for the fact that Misbah is their captain despite exciting players like Farhan, Talat and Shadab.

I don’t think it’s gone to his head, he was always over-reliant on the googly. Should work on his leg-spinner and bat higher than 10.

Agha Salman looks focused on playing long innings he isn't hitting in the air all his shots are at the ground no blind slogs like tailunt akmal.

Or perhaps the guy has worked on his short comings and improved his game.

A newbie stepping up in a pressure situation is a rare thing for Pakistani and I am loving it.

Guys like Salman butt and Kamran Akmal have great domestic records but are duds when the heat is on.

Why can’t he improve? He’s a genuine all rounder.
He can improve with the bat as he has the potential, but he simply impart enough revs to spin the ball. The names Rayyman mentioned are better leggies.

the pressure was immense though. This knock has certainly brought him into discussions.

Do you think he has potential?

That's a risky word - depends on how PCB/Ul Haq backs him. If you think after MoHa, Malik have enjoyed ZIM/IRL enough, Aga is to take on Styen/Rabada .......

Ideally, I would have rested MoHa, Malik, Sarfraz, Azhar with their honor intact for ZIM/IRL and try few kids from Aga, Saud, Talat, U Masood ..... Saud at 3, Talat at 4, Aga at 5 ...

The question isn't whether Lahore can win this. The question is can Lahore find a way to lose this?

Lol Mamoon is the most miserable guy in the world right now :)) ofcourse he's pessimistic and a negative Nancy at best of time but it's actually kinda worrying. Hope everything is well.

I'm not much of a fan of PSL or t20 anyway but watching today since it's decent time pass. Quality of cricket isn't great but it is fairly exciting. In terms of quality it most likely doesn't compare to IPL but I don't care because the reason for watching is excitement and Pakistani cricketers.

It's a t20 league for entertainment. If it's not entertaining for you then surely one should do sth else since there isn't any emotion involved. lol at 20 long posts about it
