Hassan Ali. Not a steal category wise, but a steal in the sense Islamabad got first pick. Pretty much every single team had their eye on him.

A top fast bowler who can bowl new ball, middle overs, death, take wickets with good economy, and can bat too, with a high strike rates if need be or even dig in if the situation demands with a fairly consistent batting average.

Any T20 franchise coach anywhere in the world would have picked him.

Amad played a lot of matches from PSL 3-5. But improvement wasn't coming along. They probably thought we did the best we could with him.
So good that they dropped him. Maybe Amad can get settled in a new environment with a new staff and may benefit him.

To be fair, we don’t actually know about this. Hassan has been injured during the entire period of Misbah’s tenure as selector and only just got fit a couple weeks ago.

I think Misbah would have played Hassan instead of Musa in Australia, if he could have.

yup. the guy can even bowl with a new ball. Thus, even if the wicket aint spinning, this guy is a must.

But Rashid Khan eats up an overseas pick, plus there’s already two very good spinners on the bench in Gohar and Safi. So they basically saved their overseas pick for a couple batsmen, which I think is completely justified. Hales, Munro, Gregory, Salt were the ones they were looking at, and they needed one strike fast bowler to partner Hassan Ali so they have options between Topley and Jordan.

From that perspective, Hassan was an absolute steal as he is the single reason that they have such a balanced squad.

Abdullah is unproven bowler in limited overs. Shadab cant spin anything.

Zafar Gohar maybe. The guy could be the next great bowler. I really hope so.

But Rashid Khan is just another level, and he is better than all the spinners we have got.

Very good pick. I always tuned in for Babar when Somerset played in the Vitality Blast, but I sometimes stayed for this guy and Banton. Really explosive and consistently so.

When comparing Rashid Khan's pick to Hassan Ali's pick, you also need to compare their availability. Hassan is available for the entire tournament while Rashid is available for the first 6 or 7 games, this means Hassan can help ISLU define the whole tournament for them while Rashid can help LQ for the first half of the tournament only.

The same case applies for other Afghan players to, since there is a high possibility of Afghanistan vs Zimbabwe test and T20 series in March.

This X-FACTOR isn't even going to get games for Karachi Kings, they will pick Arshad Iqbal as a preferred option.
