Lahore, 12 February 2024:

Former Australian captain Michael Clarke is all set to make his HBL PSL debut behind the mic as he joins a star-studded commentary panel. 42-year-old Clarke has been an active broadcaster after hanging up his boots as a player.

The foreign commentators' roster involves the dynamic Ian Bishop, known for his insightful and gripping commentary, along with Danny Morrison, Simon Doull, Pommie Mbangwa, Mark Butcher, Dominic Cork and Mike Haysman.

Bishop will return to the HBL PSL for the second time after having called the 2017 season. Morrison is a well-known name among the local fans and a regular voice in the tournament while Doull has made trips to Pakistan not just for HBL PSL but also for various international series.

Mbangwa will return after having called the 2022 edition of the HBL PSL. Butcher, Cork, and Haysman are also synonymous names with the HBL PSL and they’ll light up the tournament with their vocals and thrilling calls with the mic in hand.

The Pakistani commentators also make up an exciting lineup with Ramiz Raja, Waqar Younis, Bazid Khan, and Aamir Sohail joining Urooj Mumtaz, Sana Mir and Marina Iqbal. Tariq Saeed and Ali Younis will call the action in Urdu. Erin Holland and Zainab Abbas will be the presenters during the course of the HBL PSL 9.

The HBL PSL production is set to maintain its standards of broadcasting this season as well. A total of 30 high-definition cameras, including the buggy cam will stream high-quality action to the HBL PSL fans around the world. Spidercam will not only bring dynamic angles to the TV audiences but it has also been upgraded with a microphone and speaker enhancement for conducting on-field player interviews during the matches.

The DRS technology will also be available throughout the HBL PSL while drone cameras will be used to add to the quality of streaming. The fans will see a change in the on-screen graphics during the matches with the integration of revamped augmented reality graphics and player video headshots.

Who is going to broadcast this time in India?
I have always watched PSL on TV here.

I would be disappointed if no TV channel broadcasts PSL this time around

why would Indian broadcasters show it anyway? most Indian people thinks its a gully league
Indian broadcasters have always shown it since the first season. It might be due to the unprofessionalism from PCB this time around.

One of the best commentary panels I have seen for PSL

Pommie
Danny
Ramiz
Simon Doull
Haysman
Bishop

All highly entertaining commentators

It is, in two minds about watching - at least don't have to bear watching the national side get continually beaten and battered is the consolation.

Does this mean Geo is showing with Urdu commentary in the UK, with Sky Sports showing English commentary?

Foreign Commentary Panel looks amazing. Probably the first time in PSL that we are going to have this many great commentators.

With Bazid Khan, Waqar Younis and Tariq Saeed doing some Urdu commentary in between.

Wow wow wow :ghalib

Bazid: You find lots of grass [on wickets] here
Pommy: For the livestock maybe
hahah

Danny Morrison: "The PCB is giving away a free car, look at that sexy beast."
If you say so Danny.

PSL anthem in the background started to sound annoying now , haya wah wah really sounding stupid now.

Better replace it with Naseebo Lal one

Karachi vs Multan going on, and the telecast has now been shut on all platforms. Like what is happening.. How pathetic is this.

Even when the broadcasting is happening, the camera quality is soo pathetic, the picture quality was off as the colors are not even set.

It seems like PCB just gave the broadcasting deal to some new company

So I hear that all the streaming platforms around the world of the PSL have gone down since the last 20 mins.

This is another feather in the cap for Pakistan on taking embarrassment to another level.

Just a second day of PSL 9 and we started getting glitches right at the beginning of the tournament. Then we say PSL is one of the best leagues in the world.

Ian Bishop in commentary, talking about how these two bowlers bend their front leg on their delivery stride (instead of bracing them), leading them to lose energy there therefore pace, it also means they bowl from a shortened height.

Great analysis from Waqar as always:

Dominic Cork: Waqar, what should Lahore do to contain things?
Waqar: They need a hatrick

The commentary is pretty good but the picture quality could be better.

Pakistan's premier cricket commentator and former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja will join the Commentary Panel of PCB from March 4, 2024

Pakistan's premier cricket commentator and former PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja will join the Commentary Panel of PCB from March 4, 2024
Ramiz Raja is back in the commentary box for PSL 9 today in the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United in Rawalpindi.

Ramiz: That boundary should improve Babar's strike rate as well

No kidding Sherlock

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke shared his experience of visiting Pakistan for the first time. He mentioned, during a chat with Waqar Younis in the commentary booth:

"My first time to Pakistan, all those years, all those matches against Pakistan, but we played in the UAE or in Australia, so it's nice to be here and thank you, everybody, for having me."

"Thank God I never had to face him. [Waqar Younis] - Thank God I am lucky."

"Look, so many fond memories [of playing against Pakistan]."

"Pakistan always seemed to produce talent, and I think it's no different now."

"So to get the chance to come to a tournament like this and see some of their superstars, it's a real honour to be here, and I think we have seen it in world cricket now that they are always competing with the best."

"They came to Australia recently, and they're brilliant."

"So it's nice to be in their country."
