Today's game was thrilling.
It's the first time in the PSL that we're having a super over.
But but but ESL.Syed1
I feel bad for Rana saab.
Lahore need new leadership and new management team.
MCULLUM choke was the worse i have seen. Why would u take a single anyway u r the best hitter in the world, just finished the game.
It appears that the chest-thumpers did not have the heart to bump this thread after the two nail-biters yesterday, with Multan and Peshawar chasing 100 with 9 and 10 wickets in hand respectively.
It also appears that some people do not have the capacity to distinguish between low quality cricket and exciting cricket. Can low quality cricket be exciting? Yes it can be, but it is still low quality.
Regardless of what the standard of cricket is and what level it is being played at, it is inevitable that there will be some close encounters and tight finishes, and such matches are always exciting.
Nonetheless, it does not change the fact that the PSL is a minnow league. The standard of cricket is rubbish, and the overall package is very poor.
this
no one bothers to come and watch matches in UAE. And the tickets are damn cheap.
When IPL took place here, the stadiums had people.
Clearly, PSL hasn't been that good and has sucked.
DOn't understand why people dont admit this.
In terms of quality, only the Big Bash League is quality where both the batsmen and the bowlers are somewhat on an equal footing.
With PSL, the problem is that the batting is almost non-existent while the bowling is better.
With IPL, the quality goes down because IPL matches are a competition between the batting orders of the two teams. The bowling is non-existent. But people will find IPL to be more high quality and more exciting because fours and sixes excite them to no end.
That's what matters in T20 leagues. It's the entertainment that matters. There are Tests and ODI's for fans to enjoy the balance between bat and ball. Even T20 Internationals are about run scoring feasts. We're speaking of T20 leagues here.

Yes but I'm talking about quality not excitement. And fans seem to interchange those words when they shouldn't. IPL is exciting but inferior on quality. And to each his own. Some people find excitement in having 40 fours and 30 sixes in a T20 match whereas I find excitement in a bowler taking 5 wickets in a spell ala Waqar Younis style. Shoaib Akhtar has given me more moments of excitement than let's say Warner or Jayasuriya.
Inferior in quality to which league?

Does that even matter???
Millions of People around the world enjoying the cricket in front of their screens.
The problem isn't in the UAE, The problem is we cannot host matches freely at home THUS This.
crowd does matter. it shows and influences the marketing
unfortunately we do not have the luxury unless we are able to host the matches within Pakistan.
Same for all the Pakistani posters who cries over ipl all the time.If I don't like a tv show I don't watch it... I don't go out of my way to bad mouth it. Same rules apply here, the India lovers who for some reason have a beef with PSL can just flip the channel and let the rest of us enjoy this low quality poor and embarrassment of a tournament because guess what we find it entertaining.

Let us have the bollywood style, cheerleader filled rubbish quality ipl.
Most Pakistanis don't care about the IPL to give an opinion. Indian fans sure do have a lot more to say about the PSL than the Pakistanis do about the IPL.Same for all the Pakistani posters who cries over ipl all the time.

The talent rosters must be shaken up next year.
That’s like saying “we’re happy with low quality stuff but nobody else should say it’s low quality” lol. Nobody is bad mouthing the PSL here but people will state their opinions. That’s what this forum and its members exist for. Criticism and insult are two different things man.If I don't like a tv show I don't watch it... I don't go out of my way to bad mouth it. Some of these players and coaching staff don’t seem to take the league very seriously. They are not worried about getting kicked out if they don’t perform. In contrast, in a league like the IPL, the pressure is immense. The difference can be seen on their faces.
Our batsmen won't even get to 120 if there was actual pressure.
I don't mind low-scoring matches as it gets boring seeing 6 after 6, but to say this tournament has been brilliant so far is laughable. The standard of cricket has been mediocre.
The standard of bowling and fielding should be right up there with the very best in the world. While the pitches have played a massive role in the low scores, pretty much every team has a balanced bowling attack. IPL or BBL's best teams will struggle to cross 150 in a T20 on these pitches against some of the bowling line-ups in this PSL. BBL's best team might even get rolled over below 100 a few times lol.Today is the first time I am watching a PSL match and the quality is pretty poor.. IMO PSL is a very distant third behind BBL and IPL.. I haven’t watched any other leagues so can’t comment.. It’s still a new league so maybe in future it will improve but the batting standards have been pretty poor which made mediocre bowling look decent.. The quality of both batting and bowling is below average and borderline poor.

Yesterday was the only match a team scored at more than 10 RPO for the entire duration of the powerplay. Based on the whole tournament I can confidently say the best team from IPL will struggle to cross 150 while a BBL side will get blown to bits seeing as how mediocre Aussie batsmen are against spin of any kind.Well yesterday’s match had poor bowling but even worse batting by Karachi.. Any IPL or PSL team
Would have easily scored 200 against the mediocre bowling.. Second innings Luke Ronchi killed the pathetic bowling so it was fun.. So based on yesterday’s match the quality of bowling was poor but quality of batting was even worse in the first innings.

Exactly my point. Think the bowling and fielding have been spot on. Some rubbish is present obviously, like KK's legside filth to Ronchi yesterday. One of the worst displays of pace bowling I have ever seen tbh. That is exactly what I am saying the standard of bowling was poor and still the team made 48 runs in first 10 overs.. Shows how poor batting was..
Not to take anything away from Luke Ronchi innings but the bowling was poor bowling at leg and short stuff any good batsmen/hitter would murder the bowling and Ronchi did the same.. There are better hitters in IPL/BBL than Ronchi..
Anyways it was just one match I have watched maybe the bowlers and batsmen were having an off day I’ll watch few more matches before giving judgement.

Were you sleeping while typing this ? Not able to comprehend
Biggest issue is the lack of Pakistani batting talent so far. This has meant that the bowlers have largely dominated and the best of the batting performances have come from foreign players.
Sad to say this but some of the Pakistani batsmen who went into the PSL with big reputations have been very ordinary.
The tracks have been slow and not easy to score on, adding to this the bowling has been very good. Even Wahab is bowling brilliantly again. You could enter an IPL team, they too would struggle scoring big against bowlers in form and slow pitches.
Tracks not great but the batting has been even worse. The tempo, the lack of skills have been very poor.
The likes of Ronchi and Dwayne Smith and Sanga have shown the way.
All three of them are average or a bit above average T20 players.. There goes "bowling has been excellent so batsman have failed to do well" argument. If such average players are topping the list than the bowling is certainly not world class although some team like Karachi are a good bowling unit. It is just that the batting as been even bad. Absence of skill is very much visible
