PSL Player Draft 2024 - Discussion and updates

Haider Ali not selected. He should retire. This is what happens when you come to England and chill in Shisha bars ands restaurants.

He’s finished at a more age of 24 no coming back. Has regressed at a rate of knots

The reason why guys like Ammad Alam won’t be picked is because only 2-3 teams can go for them.

3 teams have guys like Rizwan, Babar and Shan Masood illegally occupying an opener’s slot
All the are miles better than him. He had a poor national t20.

All 3 shah brothers Naseem, Hunanin and Ubaid on the Islamabad United Team for PSL 9. Hopefully these guys have a lot of success excited for the the younger two to show their talents on the big stage. I can see all 3 of them playing for Pakistan together in the future.

I'm excited about Arafat Minhas, very happy he has been picked by Karachi Kings

We need middle order batsmen

I am quite surprise with how teams drafted, especially in the emerging category.

You have mohammad Zeeshan bowling soo well and is well heigted yet the Shah brothers end up getting drafted?

Sufiyan Muqeem got ignored. There was soo much talk of left arm spin.

Yasir Khan i hope got retained as i have bo clue what they did with him

6 teams limit the choices of the players to be picked. An extra two teams can make a better difference.

how is that illegal?

still looking way better than Karachi Kings
Well, this is what happens when you appoint nerds as cricket strategic experts

This Azhar guy has been on a mission to completely wreck the Kings. I don’t think even Misbah would be this poor with direction

Why isn’t the franchise learning? He shouldn’t have any business in their leadership
It will take atleast 1 or 2 more seasons.

Islamabad franchise likes to empower its players, as long as the players dont fix games, they empower the player to such an extent that even if they get injured, they offer them coaching roles and what not. They helped Sami, Rumman Raees, Misbah and Ajmal.

But they need to take some hard decisions. The Shadab dramaybazi needs to stop because Shadab is not sincere with cricket.

Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams is set to make his HBL PSL debut, after he was picked up by Karachi Kings in the Platinum round. Also making their debuts in the HBL PSL are the South African duo of Reeza Hendricks (Multan Sultans, Gold) and Lungi Ngidi (Peshawar Zalmi, Supplementary).

David Willey was the first pick of the evening, as Multan Sultans cashed in their first pick in the Platinum round. The English all-rounder has 270 wickets and 3,720 runs in the T20 format. Peshawar Zalmi picked Noor Ahmad, the Afghanistan spinner, to strengthen their bowling ranks. The 18-year old had 74 T20 wickets.

Islamabad United used their wildcard to pick Jordan Cox. The English wicketkeeper-batter has 1,798 T20 runs.

Sherfane Rutherford (West Indies) and Mohammad Amir were Quetta Gladiators’ two Platinum picks. The West Indies middle-order batter has 1,753 runs. Amir, with 303 T20 scalps to his name, will be boosting Gladiators’ bowling attack.

Karachi Kings used their first round Platinum pick to secure Kieron Pollard. The West Indies all-rounder has a record tally of 12,390 runs and 312 wickets in the shortest format. Karachi’s next pick was Daniel Sams, who has taken 179 wickets and has scored 1,699 runs in the shortest format. Pakistan left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz was Karachi’s final pick in Platinum.

Fakhar Zaman was once again Lahore Qalandars’ first pick in Platinum. The left-handed batter has been prolific for Lahore, and was the team’s top run-getter in the last two editions of PSL. South African batter Rassie van der Dussen was Lahore’s final pick in the Platinum round. He has thus far amassed 4,680 T20 runs.

Sahibzada Farhan, who headlined the National T20 Cup 2023-24 as the top run-getter, was secured by Lahore Qalandars in the Diamond round. Sahibzada will join the ranks of Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique to strengthen the team’s top-order. England’s Dawid Malan (Multan Sultans) and Tymal Mills (Islamabad United), New Zealand’s Tim Seifert (Karachi Kings) and Asif Ali (Peshawar Zalmi) were the other Diamond picks.

Multan Sultans picked Reeza Hendricks, the South African top-order batter, in the Gold category. He has an impressive tally of 5,489 T20 runs and is currently ranked No. 8 on the ICC T20I rankings. The ninth best bowler in the world, West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein, was picked by Quetta Gladiators in the Supplementary round.

Lahore Qalandars chose Salman Irshad as their first silver round pic but Peshawar Zalmi used RTM to retain the fast bowler. Similarly, Omair Bin Yousuf was picked by Islamabad United, but Quetta Gladiators employed RTM to retain the young top-order batter.

But they need to take some hard decisions. The Shadab dramaybazi needs to stop because Shadab is not sincere with cricket.

Shadab in a recent interview mentioned that he let Abrar go because he knew Abrar would not really get an opportunity to play consistently in the IU team therefore he was better off switching to QG where he will play consistently. Shadab also mentioned that he will be playing 4 day cricket going forward to improve his bowling

Why could this draft not be held after the IPL draft? Unpicked IPL players might have registered themselves for the PSL draft as a result.

South Africa's Nadre Burger who is impressing everyone now in 1st Test against India. Hewas in the PSL draft 2024 in the Gold category. But no PSL team picked him.

Karachi Kings have called in Zahid Mehmood as a partial replacement of Kieron Pollard
I don't understand the thought process behind this, but when it comes to Karachi Kings, it seems like logical reasoning might not be a necessary thing.
