PTI's Tsunami March on 14th August [Mega Thread]

I had been listening from different N league sources over past few days that no matter what , police will not use force.

Seems they have changed their approach.

All the blood is on tuq and Imrans hands. They wanted an exit and their egos couldnt bear a humiliating retreat. They knew this kind of "heroic" last stand would result in police action allowing a moral victory.

These are probably rubber bullets, i can't imagine such non professional approach from the police once again.

Those people have not been forced to join PTI or PAT against their wishes. Yes, you could blame them but still how can you absolve government here?

No one should be shoot at if he/she is not a danger to life. Simple as that.

I am trying to avoid the T.V here, but those watching could answer me one question.

Are they using real bullets ?

It's the shameful liar Nawaz Shariff and his brother Shahbaz Sharrif for not resigning. We saw it at model town we're seeing it here.

A woman has been murdered. No doubt they are using live bullets.

Which democracy in the world uses tear gas against little girls? I'd like to see how people support this

Great next time TTP shows up, let them show up with a couple of little girls with them. I hope no one fires back then. What were little girls doing there in the first place?! Sick move by the so called leaders of the march.

I guess the ego of Chaudhry Nisar got hurt. He had also intended to stop the marchers from entering the red zone but others rejected his this approach.

Only a little difference here is that these are not TTP.

Another Indian! seriously we won't let your dog be Prime Minister of Pakistan no matter what it takes.

Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal speaking to DawnNews said: “I want to first express sadness that we negotiated with PTI and they assured us that they would speak with us tomorrow and not take a step.”

Ahsan Iqbal: Policemen have been shot – this means these activists have used bullets. If police is fired at and if they are hurt then they will fire in self-defense. We should all condemn these two groups who have crossed all limits. The police told them to stop but they crossed the red lines.

Some news channels are reporting up to seven deaths so far.

Very sad.

They're not. But that's beyond the point. Point is if he was going for a full-on confrontation with the government, he should have ensured there were no little girls in there.

Disgraceful stuff. This is the democracy you lot were crying about.

On a side note, I want to know where Imran Khan is. He better get out there

That must make it ok then

Where have I said that this is okay?!

Is it a crime to even say something as it appears now?!

I would suggest you stop posting for a few hours. People are dying and you are justifying their deaths.

I would suggest you start taking facts as they come.

People are dying, and I am blaming the sightless LEADERS who hid out in containers for their deaths!

Have some shame! Do you even know what democracy is?

Any self respecting PM or President would resign immediately as a result of this.

But kya karein, our rulers are besharam

Tuq had no way out but this kind of sacrifice/dead bodies. In an ideal world people should be allowed to peacefully protest outside pm house. But we all knew police would probably react in the present circumstances. Tuq and IK lost the battle of attrition. They used their people like pawns.

Dozens injured and dead is the best outcome for tuq. His people were on their last legs. He couldn't bear a baizati and nothing gained.

IK was egged on by a desperate tuq. He had at least gained something from this protest. He should have gone home.

Forget it. I think blinding light knows how wrong they are but is continuing to defend this illegitimate governments stance. I don't want to argue with someone who justifies the deaths of people.

What can you expect from this government. First model town, now this.

Imran had said in his speech, that if something happens to him, then his supporters will not spare the govt. and if something happens to his supporters, then he will not spare the govt. it is time.

Which channel is the giving unbiased coverage? I am tired of ARY and GEO forcing their stupid opinions, Anyone?

I do agree....

I'm giving him 24 hours now. It's time for IK to step up and lead from the front

I know what democracy is, and it is certainly not pushing on unarmed women and children forward to storm the Presidency whilst leaders hide out in containers!

At this point, there should be resignations coming in, for sure!

sure you know about our democracy or even what form it is in Pakistan

In any case, the govt itself had given the army the mandate to protect state instructions and buildings so there was no need to involve the police which is made up of their stooges. Also 17 days is enough to find a solution through dialogue but the onus is on the govt, to do it

Why did IK risk his people? He knew there was a risk hence he called for women and children to stay back. I'm sorry but no principle on earth is worth more than human lives. He should have never joined tuq on this final march.

Suppose a guy is known for shooting people who stand near his house on public property. if knowing the risk I go and stand there I'm as much to blame as the shooter.

Go read Article 245 of the Constitution.

I know it well enough and dont need a kid in undergad to try to lecture me on a field I have graduated from one of the best institutions in the world

ANd pprolly as you dont know what it really means is to defend Pakistan against external forces which is not the case.

This is not an external force and in this case it is the Pakistan government not the state.

Also armed forces does not include the pollice

Only argument the government has is that few of TUQ men were armed with sticks.

A few among TUQ men actually had sticks who should have been disarmed by their own leadership. They have given government an excuse here.
But police used indiscriminate force here which showed that their aim was to punish and disperse them all. Very few of them had sticks which did not demand such a brute action.

Congratulations. Time to apply some of that knowledge now.

dont worry, I am already.

Just to educate you:

I already told you Blinding light wont listen to logic.

Again the point was not a full-on confrontation with forces.

Govt specifically ordered to fire tear gas and rubber bullets on women so the crowd would get panic and dispersed. Eff this gift and their supporters. Barbaric stuff. Whenever imran khan comes on the top of the container they start shelling on the container. And idiots who say IK should have have gotten injured with the workers as well should really shut up. You people realize what will happen if something happens to IK? Hell will break lose! This country will come to a halt!

Bloody sharif murderers should be hanged.

Guys I know emotions are running high and all but I think it is not right to insult a whole biradri "Khwajas" by calling them Eunuchs. Thanks. God bless.

Wrong move to enter the parliament. Likely to be TUQ's people. Problem with his people ar ethat they were not there due to any adherence to an ideology but were like sheep following their shepherd.

Agreed...

Was just saying what Sheikh Rasheed said. Can't expect a lot knowing his lehja

They were people who came in for the justice. Justice of 17 people killed by the govt. they were there was 17 days, desperate and tired. This is what happens when you don't give people their rights.

Again the point was not a full-on confrontation with forces.

And what else was this going to be? IK was testing limits and playing with dangerous waters. In what country will the state allow protestors to keep inching towards the PM house?

Today he said he will sit in outside the PM house. Tomorrow PM's lawn. The day after PM's bedroom.

You can't be telling me that this was not a confrontational move. He did it purposefully to ignite the situation again, hoping this move will be the final move.

That's what this whole azadi march has been about - playing one move, hoping the PM cedes in, then moving it one level up, ad infinitum. He could have sat where he was sitting for days and weeks and months. But he decided to "up the ante" by moving in closer. If this is not confrontational, I don't know what is.

Mr Nawaz Sharif should please come out and talk to the nation. According to the election, he claims that the majority is on his side. He has been like a coward in this whole episode trying to hind behind his ministers and the army

There is a difference between his intention and the possible outcome.

And for that possibility he had told women to be at the rear end.

Intention was clear - let's raise the stakes one level up since the previous bets didn't get him what he wanted (resignation).

For a leader, he should have foreseen the outcome. People around the world have been saying NS has surprisingly not used much force on the protestors who kept moving in. IK was testing limits - as a leader of the people, he should have known it will come to this.

All that being said, the loss of life is always regretted and not desirable.

you are clearly ignorant if you believe this rubbish you are spouting

the only reason Nawaz could not inflict death on his own people was because the previous IG of Islamabad police refused him and lost his job for it !

And you must be the enlightened one for dumping out wisdoms from your backside? Typical IK follower - let's first start calling names before we even begin talking.

No state will allow this BS to go on. IK could have sat outside the Red Zone for years for all I care. But nope - this is having no effect. So let me try to take my chances. Let's move in to the Red Zone. Oh that had no effect. Let's just storm the PM house.

IK has been on record so many times stating he and his supporters will drag the PM from out of his house. Can that not be construed as a direct threat to the country's PM? But nope, we should all let them keep moving forward as much as they want because this is 'azaadi march'.

These "peaceful protesters"came with sticks, gas masks and helmets...they also brought women and children with them.....wow. How thick headed one has to be to not realize what games are being played here.

Stop being drama queen (as you always are in these type of situations).

Sticks, gas masks were for defence as the very same party lost 17 people in Lahore in the hands of gullu butts. Today once again gullu butt (punjab police, why they are even working in ISB?) attacked protestors who wanted to sit in front of PM house.

I think shareef know they are cornered and have no way out and as a last few resorts they are comitting blunders (lie against army and attacking protestors) so that army steps in and they become siasi shaheed.

Tell me something, would you take your family to a place where you are expecting lathi charge, tear gas shelling etc.
