MULTAN: In a shocking development, Multan police reported the murder of famed social media sensation Qandeel Baloch.

Qandeel, who is popular for posting bold videos and statements on Facebook, was gunned down by her brother, police said.

Qandeel's brother had been threatening her over her Facebook posts and videos, said the police.

Baloch, a Kim Kardashian-type figure who has become famous through her tireless self-promotion and suggestive "selfies" posted on social media, had amassed tens of thousands of followers.

Three weeks ago, Qandeel had written to the interior minister, the director general of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and the senior superintendent of Islamabad asking them to provide security to her and has requested action against those who made her identification documents public via social media.

She had said her life is in danger and that she is being threatened via calls on her mobile number and that she did not have security measures installed in her home.

She wrote: “I need security from you”.

In the letter which she signed by her real name, Fauzia Azeem, she has said that images of her passport and CNIC were uploaded on social media sites four days ago which, she said, made her “extremely tense and depressive”.

She asked how her documents were collected from the National Database and Registration Authority and the Passports and Immigration Department and has asked about the officials involved in “destroying [her] image in show biz”.

By the looks of it, it was a honour killing as his brother is the killer.

But according to her, she married her sister and bought house for her parents in Multan.

ISLAMABAD: Facebook celebrity Qandeel Baloch has written to the interior minister, the director general of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) and the senior superintendent of Islamabad asking them to provide security to her and has requested action against those who made her identification documents public via social media, police officials told Dawn on Monday.

She has said that her documents may be used for “negative” activities which may land her in trouble. Ms Baloch was not available for comment.

I have no words tbh. Lets ignore whatever kind of person she was. Everyone has the right to do whatever they want. This is shocking.

I knew it. Just few days ago it crossed my mind that soon she will be killed. Pakistan is not safe for independent girl like her. She should have left pakistan when she still had chance.
Too many artists got killed in pakistan this year.
Didnt like her but always appreciated her boldness and audacity. She will inspire pakistani girls in persuing their careers without fear.

The messed up part is that I actually know multiple people who have her number and prank called her as she says in that letter.... It feels great making fun of someone and then when theyre gone...

What an intolerant country this is. Worse people than her dont deserve a fate this bad.

I would be lying if I said I didn't see it coming. A shameful incident.

RIP to her.

Unfortunate but i knew this would happen to her. She was too bold for a country like Pakistan. Even though worse things happen there but it all happens behind closed doors. She was all over the media.

You know what the worse part of all this is? People on social media are actually trying to justify her killing...What the f....Some days, I'm ashamed to be Pakistani, felt the same when Amjab Sabri was gunned down.

I don't believe it. What are the people (on social media) saying? You'd think they are more educated and elite than the average citizens of the country.

Pakistan needs a visionary who will make it secular and usher it into a new era of high growth.

This whole pandering to religious nut cases creates a situation where population starts getting radicalized over the decades.

This killing has got little to do with narrow mentality (which exists in every religious community) and lots to do with the encouragement one would have received to carry out this dastardly act.

Sad for Pakistan and what it has turned into.

I would post some tweets, but they will be deleted (and rightly so) by admins. Hop yourself on to Twitter and search #QandeelBaloch. Some people are like, "well if your sister did this, what would you do", "Your parents and brother would do the same if she was your sister", "She should have been banned earlier by PEMRA".

Your right in that most people on Twitter are educated and condemn her killing, but you'll find the odd tweet justifying her killing.

R.I.P

media was too much into it for no special reason.

no one knew her couple of months back and now a days she was on every channel

TV channels should never ever had shown her real names on passport and nikaah nama. they dig up her whole background

Oh, so it's the media's fault. Gotcha..

Oh, so it's the media's fault. Gotcha..

not saying its media's fault, talking abt whats been said in OP about her personal info been released.
she have adopted new name for reason.
why show her real name ? her old marriage certificates ?

I blame the parents of men that carry out so-called 'honor' killings. You don't just wake up one day and decide to kill your sister, you are conditioned in to such a mindset since the day you're born.

She was a bad element of the society.

Islam does not condone killings, but positive is, such elements will think twice before trying to pollute the minds of people.

Inna Lillah e Wa inna eleh e rajeoon.

Her acts were unislamic but that was her life and Her matter with His creater who had to decide her fate on day of judgement weighing her good and bad deeds.

This is indeed a very Sad News.

Her killer is even a far bigger Sinner and a Criminal aswell.

There is No place for Honour Killings, Apostasty & Blasphemy punishments in Islam.

From Quaid's Pakistan Quaid's ideology has vanished. In a So called Islamic State Islam is nowhere to be seen.

She was a bad element of the society.

Islam does not condone killings, but positive is, such elements will think twice before trying to pollute the minds of people.

You serious right now? There is no positive. I hated her but our people are so stupid that they gave her undue attention. She could do whatever she wanted.

Brother, the killing has taken place, and it is to be condemned and killer should be arrested.

That part is established.

But it is also true that she was polluting and corrupting the minds of so many Pakistanis and such elements are not good for society.

The positive is there.

No future woman shall dare to do what Qandeel Baloch did for the fear of backlash from extreme elements of society.

If anything, this will help eradicate the society of evil.

Yes killing her will eradicate evil like terrorism, lunatics, lies, frauds, corruption, honour killing. She was hyped up by people only who had too low life that they pounced on to criticize and make her famous as if they have no own priorities of life.

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون
^Verily, unto Allah do we belong and, verily, unto Him we shall return^

I´m in a state of shock, wow! This is the height of intolerance in our society! Leaving aside for a moment anything about Qandeel herself, such people are a great test of tolerance of societies and cultures, and well..... A disgusting act!

In a society where the whole political is corrupt, nutters kill out of "religious duty" and rape of children in Madrassahs is virtually the norm, her antics were comparatively tame.

You are messed up.
She didnt ask to be muslim, she never had choice about her religion.
This only promotes islamic social supression of women and radicalizing society.
May be mullahs who preach such things should be made example of so they stop interferring in peoples lives and freedom

Qandeel Baloch’s murder a lesson for others: Mufti Abdul Qavi

Mufti Abdul Qavi who got suspended from Ruet-e-Hilal Committee membership after selfies with Qandeel Baloch said the murder of the model is lesson for others.

Reacting on killing of Qandeel Baloch, he said no one should make mockery of ulema. However, he said he condemns murder of Qandeel and he had forgiven her from the core of his heart.

What a statement to make at this time:facepalm:!

So there is scope for positives from such a killing as well.. :|

Wow I thought you were one of the more mature and sensible posters on this forums.. Just realized how wrong I was.

The narrow mindedness of sub continent society is unbelievable.. IIRC Veena Malik also got death threats after she went back to Pakistan after Big Boss? In India Gauhar Khan was slapped by some dude on random event? Women Empowerment my *** society will always be men dominated it has been for last 2000 years will continue to be for next 2000 years..

Pretty sad and then people like you make matters worse..

Pakistan urgently needs a secular revolution. The virus that has been inflicted upon the country (mostly due to religious interpretations & outdated traditions) can no longer be tolerated. It infected various generations of Pakistanis, and continues to cost many people's innocent lives - with today's case not being a lone incident.

Yes killing her will eradicate evil like terrorism, lunatics, lies, frauds, corruption, honour killing. She was hyped up by people only who had too low life that they pounced on to criticize and make her famous as if they have no own priorities of life.

Of course it will not eradicate evil and fraud.

But it will eradicate Muslim girls trying to show their bodies in front of the world.

In a society where the whole political is corrupt, nutters kill out of "religious duty" and rape of children in Madrassahs is virtually the norm, her antics were comparatively tame.

They were tame.

However they were against the religious doctrines of Islam.

Agar burai ko rok nai saktay, at least one should consider it evil.

By saying it's less than other evils, you are just putting a blanket on it.

You are messed up.
She didnt ask to be muslim, she never had choice about her religion.

She was a Muslim and she wanted to be wrong type of Muslim.

Did she ever say she did NOT want to be Muslim or follow Islam?

Brother, either you're going through a tough time in your life, or you're just daft to believe that she is some evil to society.

She was evil.

She was corrupting the people.

No two ways about it.

Of course she didn't deserve to die and I condemn her murder.

Someone hacked your account? Is this a view of a doctor sitting in China?

There is nothing wrong with my opinion.

I condemned the killing.

She did NOT deserve to die.

She shouldn't have been killed.

Now that SHE IS DEAD, PERHAPS FUTURE GIRLS WILL THINK TWICE before embarking on moral depravation of the society.

That is all I said.

I don't know why people are thinking I am happy she died.

I am NOT.

I just hope that her death MIGHT SERVE AS A DETERRENT for girls who pollute the society in the name of Islam.

She was not evil.

She was not corrupting anyone. Pakistanis are among the leading watchers of adult websites and this fact has been known for years and years. This was well before anyone had ever heard of her. Is she responsible for that?

It does not matter whether she was going against Islam's doctorine or not. Why do you think Islam is in such bad shape today and disliked all over the world? It is because of conservative muslims trying to impose their moraility on others.

Is Women Empowerment taking off your clothes and strutting about in a bikini so that People may clap at your body ?

If that is woman empowerment we clearly have different ideologies :)

For all of those who are so indignant and aghast at her murder.

If your sister or mother started doing this, would you still say it is "woman empowerment" and they can do what they want.

The amount of hypocrisy in this thread is unbelievable.

You can't stand your own family member doing something, but when it comes to others doing bad stuff, you say it is a sign of female emancipation.

Women empowerment is allowing women to do what they want without people like you making chauvinistic remarks about them.

Wearing a bikini is wrong? It's anti Islamic? Did she force anyone to follow her?

As long as whatever she was doing did not effect anyone else personally physically or mentally hurting anyone why does anyone care about it?

Anyways she was just born in a wrong country and wrong religion..

You did not even bother responsing to the points i made.

Yes, if the women in my family were doing this, i would not be happy but i would NEVER EVER HIT THEM, let alone do what this guy did.

My cousin sister is a Model and she does shows and I am proud of her...

Unless you show me something this girl did which is actually wrong you are coming across as an extremely narrow minded chauvinist to me..

Oh?

And did she not get killed for doing the same things while being attached to religion?

either way she did not have a choice. This is why our religion is disliked all over the world, because of the conservatives.

I don't mind woman taking off their clothes.

But that is not woman empowerment in my opinion.

She was definitely choosing the wrong religion if she wanted to pursue her sexual fetishes.

Yes, if the women in my family were doing this, i would not be happy but i would NEVER EVER HIT THEM, let alone do what this guy did.

And that REINFORCES MY POINT.

You would NOT BE HAPPY.

Of course, I have already stated she DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE. AND KILLING HER WAS WRONG.

iT IS SIMPLE.

I don't mind woman taking off their clothes.

But that is not woman empowerment in my opinion.

She was definitely choosing the wrong religion if she wanted to pursue her sexual fetishes.

then many Pakistani's too have chosen the wrong religion since they are among the leading viewers of adult websites.

either way she did not have a choice. This is why our religion is disliked all over the world, because of the conservatives.

It is disliked because of killing when you don't agree to someone's point of view.

I also DISLIKE THAT.

It is NOT DISLIKED because people want their wives and girlfriends and females to become sexual icons.

And that REINFORCES MY POINT.

You would NOT BE HAPPY.

Of course, I have already stated she DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE. AND KILLING HER WAS WRONG.

iT IS SIMPLE.

There are plenty of people on twitter justifying what happened to her. I know you are against her killing but you are trying to find positives when none exist. The more conservative a society is, the more restrictions on people, the greater the backlash will be.

What about the example it sets for other crazy nutters like her brother? We live in a country where we've seen brothers kill their sisters when they married someone of their choice.

What a truly messed up society we live in.

Unless you show me something this girl did which is actually wrong you are coming across as an extremely narrow minded chauvinist to me..

1. You cousin sister is NOT MUSLIM.

2. I am glad you support her, but in our society it is considered "showing the female body" as shameful, so maybe in your society it is okay.

3. Once again, I am okay with females studying, education, religion, and doing sports even for that matter.

But when it comes to taking off clothes, I draw the line.

Hate me for it, if you must, but that's my opinion.

What a truly messed up society we live in.

The onus is on the Mullahs and Muftis tonight to declare the person who KILLED HER as doomed for eternal hellfire.

If you play GOD and take a life, you will NEVER GO TO HEAVEN.

But of course, our conservative Mullahs will NEVER SPEAK OUT AGAINS THIS MURDER, WHICH IS JUST AS SAD.

I don't mind woman taking off their clothes.

But that is not woman empowerment in my opinion.

She was definitely choosing the wrong religion if she wanted to pursue her sexual fetishes.

Sexual Fetishes? It's your corrupt mind which actually thinks women posting pics in Bikini is some sort of sexual fetish.. You guys are sexually deprive that seeing a picture in a Bikini arouses you? It is not even that big a deal.. And not just you but a lot of people in Islam community also thinks that. This itself shows how narrow minded the community itself is..

What is woman empowerment? The basic definition of it is to allow woman to pursue what they want to without condemning them or KILLING Them in this case... Giving them equal opportunities as men...

But I have understood your POV which is pretty much based on Religion and Country and I guess we both agree the religion was not meant for her coz that religion has people with mindset like yours (that too in majority)..

Just wanted to add wearing a Bikini is NOT Showing off female body... Hopefully your next generations will understand it..

Ok I get it, Religion... Like I said in another thread Cause of more than half the problems in world is religion..

it is also disliked because of the wife beating, forcing women to wear burkas, not letting many women work, you know things that go beyond killing.

In Islam it is said, in Sura Nisaa ayah number 34

Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

It is allowed to strike the wife, but only if she doesn't respect you and actually disrespects you by hanging out with other males etc etc.

Of course our society extrapolates it, and makes it totally terrible.

There is No force to wear Burkas.

but Allah once again says in the Holy Quran in 24:31

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests

So Hijab is preferred definitely according to Quran.

Of course, there is no force to do so.

There is no line which prohibits women from working, as long as they don't show their sexuality and advertise their bodies.

And Allah knows Best.

Just wanted to add wearing a Bikini is NOT Showing off female body... Hopefully your next generations will understand it..

Ok I get it, Religion... Like I said in another thread Cause of more than half the problems in world is religion..

Lol.

Why does a woman wear a bikini then?

To hide her body ?

Lol.

Why does a woman wear a bikini then?

To hide her body ?

You want to go to beach wearing Burkha? You want to have sun bathing wearing Burkha? You don't wear Shorts in summers because it makes you comfortable?

It's how you perceive it.. It's ok your mindset it totally different.. But I do hope your next generation is different..

It's not about Pakistan, India, Islamic or Non-Islamic, more or less in every part of the World a Woman contributing to society as a Doctor would always be more respected than another showing and selling her body for money and fame like the Kardashians.

There is a reason for it.

If selling and showing the body for fast bucks is empowerment, then the most empowered Women in the society will be those working in Brothels.

She was a Muslim and she wanted to be wrong type of Muslim.

You are the one trying to justify her killing by islam hence the relevance, if she wasnt born muslim then probably you would have a different opinion. For all we know she felt uncomfortable in the culture, land and belief she was born and tried to escape it.

She has right to do whatever she wants despite of what any religion says or you think what she should have done.

If in any tragedy we see even 1% positive then we don't really see the larger issue.

Its not woman empowerment what she was doing obviously, but when only the world will learn to live and let live, stop controlling people.

I didn't even justify her killing.

I just said future women will think twice before embarking on this path under the name of religion.

Once again, nothing wrong with my comment.

She didn't do things under the name of religion,Mullahs do things under the name of religion.

What you are trying to say is any woman wanting to play sports with shorts or tight clothes, sing or dance in a movie should first give up her religion and then go ahead?

I didn't even justify her killing.

I just said future women will think twice before embarking on this path under the name of religion.

IF you dont see anything wrong in your statements then i am speechless.

What about the muftis who ran after her like mad dogs, what about her own brother who strangled her to death, what about her parents who married her off to a man not equal to her, what about the society which made her what she was, what about the male dominated media which gave her attention and made her star, what about her husband(S) who only exploited her and messed up with her head.

May be if we punish them all and made an example so next time a mufti will think twice before inviting a girl in a hotel room, or a brother who killed her own sister. She was the product of the evils of the society, you want to hide the symptom instead of tackling the actual cause.
I hope in your next life you be born as a woman in an islamic society.

May god bless us all.

Woman advertising themselves is the problem.

They can play sports , be educated, or do whatever they want within realms of sensibility.

But if they want to shake their hips in front of the whole world, strut around in a bikini so people can say ooh and ahh, then I am afraid I don't condone that action.

People have a right to difference of opinion.

I don't like women being itemized and on sale for men's pleasures.

If you do, that's your opinion.

I can strip for Amitabh Bachchan: Qandeel Baloch.

http://m.timesofindia.com/entertain...hchan-Qandeel-Baloch/articleshow/53226261.cms

Latest comments just before her death, just the tip of the iceberg.

A truly empowered, inspirational, respectable, independent and intellectual woman.

Women would raise their daughters in the hope that they will become Qandeels of the future. Such is the legacy she is leaving behind.

Also the pride of every Father, Brother and Son.

All of the things you said must be condemned if they happened.

But we should also condemn her lifestyle.

You must call out "burai" or "at least consider something bad in your heart". That is the least amount of faith in God's eyes.

I am not going to say, she was doing "NO harm" and she wasn't doing "Anything bad".

She was doing something bad.

She did NOT deserve to die though.

she was a thousand times better than those who are trying to find ways to justify her death.

You seem to be very upset. Were you a big fan of her? Be honest.

no, i was not. Of course i am angry at the murder of an innocent person and people who are trying to find justification for it.

It's not only about religion, but also culture : she was a Baloch (from Saraiki areas), they're very "tribal" and the last to accept such vulgarities buttered unto the public in the name of "liberties". Of course you can't defend an extra-judicial killing (unless it's collateral damages in FATA or Iraq/Afghanistan), but she was far from being a good role model and probably knew that her "trolling" wouldn't last long.
