Good grief that is a depressing set of scorecards. How are we meant to develop batsmen on these minefields ?
 
What I can see is overs/day already has come down to 80 level and we are in mid October. By December, inshallah it'll reach to 4 List A match level with T20 scores.

I can't help but notice that all the posters who said Sethi would transform Pakistan's cricket seem to have all gone underground.

So many empty promises about reform to domestic cricket.
 
Ahmed Bashir was talked about on here but nobody mentions him anymore. When i saw 3 years ago he reminded me of Fazle Akbar, and i never rated his action.

You clearly need to read the forums more carefully. [MENTION=141557]Chief Destroyer[/MENTION] mentions him all the time.

Strangely enough, this is only his second FC game this season.

His figures in his first game were: 4/59 and 1/44.

From what i saw of him, he looked very average but bowlers improve and maybe he has gone upto a different level.
 
Now just imagine Haris Sohail was piling runs on such pitches especially of North Punjab and we still ignored him for too long..

True - this was my point since 2011. His ~52 average, at least was 10 above compared to Fawad's stats (and 100 above, if I consider how respective runs are scored :( )

Sadaf 328 wickets under 70 matches with average of 18 but never played for Pakistan :)
no hue and cry like Fawad too because he has no influence in media and comes from a small city :)
 
Saad Ali in supreme form. Didn't inspire much confidence when I saw him playing the National OD cup.
 
Saad Ali is a must for NZ tour; guy is batting in T20 rate on those horrible wickets and he is a lefti middle order.

Though, for Inzi's book there are few excuses - only 7 years in domestics & still 25 (too inexperienced), scoring in FC (Can't pick for ODI), he is a middle order (no slot available), can't bowl (Haris & Malik is already there) ..... I am almost certain that he'll bring back Azhar, give Shehzad one last chance at the top and pick MoHa as specialist bat.

I have a feeling that this guy Saad Ali is going to suffer a career like Fawad & Haris - in my book, he was a sure shot for PAK LO squad just after 2015 WC - that time guy, had a 85/100 sort of List A stats over a significant career (about 15+ innings).
 
If Inzi is not impressed with Saad Ali's technique then he will not be selected despite his high average. The exact reason why Fawad gets no chances.

That's how it works for him. That is why Imam also got in despite a poor list A average.

If they (inzamam and company) do not give a chance to Saad Ali now then really there is no reason for youngsters to play domestic cricket. Saad has shown his class in the past few years and he still has had no sniff to either Pakistan or their A team, really pathetic.
 
I'm impressed with the captaincy of Shan Masood. He played Umar Akmal at #4 and a new and upcoming talented kid Saad Ali at the #5...right where he should be. Also, he put the hack Sohaib Maqsood at #6...where he belongs. Only if Shan himself was decent bat!

Umar was batting at #4 when Shan wasn't there for the first match also with Saad at #5.

Saad moved up to #4 while Umar was banned and is now back to #5 with Maqsood batting below Saad whenever he's played this season.

So Shan has not really done anything different...

Being the captain he could have easily done things differently. Umar Akmal has usually batted at #6 for Pakistan whenever he has played and Sohaib Maqsood usually bats up the order instead of #6.

Shan being the captain could have easily put Umar back #6 but it's good to see the captain and coach putting someone like Umar up the order and the new kid Saad #5 and someone who has already played many games for Pakistan, Sohaib Maqsood at #6.

Where is Shaheen Shah?

I assumed for the previous game he was being rested, which is understandable, considering he hasn't played much cricket, but he hasn't played in this round either it seems?

Ali shafiq is performing very well that might be the reason
 
Oh yes he is isn't he.

I think it's just a shame though. I would have wanted him to play.

Do you know how long the domestic season is - How many more rounds will there be - I imagine that there is still loads of time?

Still 4 rounds left.
But they cant drop sadaf and shafiq bowling well. We might not see shaheen ne next round or couple of rounds
 
There's two rounds left then there's the Super Eight stage.

The top four teams in each group will get to play 3 more matches each.

After that's there's the final.

Also after the preliminary stage (before the Super Eights), there will be a 20-day break - I guess this is when the National T20 Cup will be played.

Though, for Inzi's book there are few excuses - only 7 years in domestics & still 25 (too inexperienced), scoring in FC (Can't pick for ODI), he is a middle order (no slot available), can't bowl (Haris & Malik is already there) ..... I am almost certain that he'll bring back Azhar, give Shehzad one last chance at the top and pick MoHa as specialist bat.

I have a feeling that this guy Saad Ali is going to suffer a career like Fawad & Haris - in my book, he was a sure shot for PAK LO squad just after 2015 WC - that time guy, had a 85/100 sort of List A stats over a significant career (about 15+ innings).

:) But so true - he was just about couple of innings away from making a comeback; definitely in Test, probably ODI as well. Inzi backed him over Taufique Umar when he was Captain.
 
Usman has led weak Lahore sides in the past to victory and most of the time he is the main contributor with bat.. Hope we don't waste him.. It was poor from management not to play him in recent series..
 
Good to see Ammad do well

He is a natural athlete, has the potential to be proper fast bowler and a hard hitting batsmen. Just needs some more work on the technical aspect of bowling
 
Does anyone know what in God's name is going on with the Fawad Ahmed issue between PTV and FATA in QeA17 ?? (I am not too sure if this is the relevant thread for it though) [MENTION=133760]Abdullah719[/MENTION]

There's a massive debate going on where Fawad is accused of illegitimately playing for FATA while being in the PTV squad as well. Some are saying that he was not in the squad & hence he is defacto considered released by the dept and can represent any team on the roaster if they include him in their 20 named squad.

Is that legal in our domestics? Extremely confusing case this :20:
