Quetta Gladiators (243/2) beat Peshawar Zalmi (240/2) by 8 wickets in Match 25 of PSL8

Gladiators need 36 runs in 23 balls.

Batsmen hitting very well here , they are on top now
 
No matter what Babar does, go fast, slow or in between, somebody needs to upstage him, must be beeling poor chap.
 
Babar fans gone back into hiding only coming out when he scores even then he’s too slow.

I feel a bit embarrassed for Babar, he must have felt he'd already won.
 
Good to see all the brutal hitting and mammoth totals, no hiding places or anchors for batsmen now.
 
Should have realised that the pitch must be an absolute patta for Babar to score so freely. Another Babar knock in a losing cause,he just can't do anything right.

Already knew a pitch that Babar scored a 100 on, the opposing batter could score 150 or 200 even quicker on.
 
So Babar punches above his weight, probably reaches his strike rate ceiling, and still has one of the worst strike rates in the match!
 
Seeing all the hate messages against Babar. It is absolutely ridiculous. The guy has continuosly performed across all formats and has the potential to end his career as one of the greatest of all time.
 
Roy scored 30 runs more than Babar inspite of facing less balls. That I think was the difference in the match. But Babar also batted as good as he can, he has some limitations and cannot outbat someone as Brutal as Roy on a good day.
 
Just a reminder out of all Peshawar batsmens Babar had the lowest strike rate.

Wrong format he’s decent in tests and ODIs let’s see how good he is at the next 50 over World Cup his next test against full strength teams.

I thought you were joking so I went and looked and you are right. Despite scoring a 100, Babar has one of the worst strike rates in this game. Poor batsman.

He was not facing PZ bowling, nor he is a match for Roy in term of brutul hitting. Still a brilliant chanceless inning from Babar.

Yep, not taking anything away from Roy, don't think Peshawar Zalmi bowling can be passed off as even club level.
 
Don’t like babar hugging and smiling with Roy . As if he won the game for him . Ridiculous

He is more than just decent and even in T20 cricket too. Players like Roy and Umar Akmal are hit and miss wonders. They can't be compared with a proper aesthetic consistent batsman like Babar Azam.

Nah man, it was good inns by Babar - with some classy shots, the score made QG to basically come out and throw the kitchen sink which came off.

Some would say that if other batsman had faced those 16 deliveries which Babar took to get to his hundred and scored 20 runs off, they might have scored an additional 15-20 runs.

Mohammad Nawaz | Quetta captain: Every captain wants a match-winning innings like that. He also won't forget this for the rest of his life and we as well. The discussion was to show intent from ball one and it was continued by Guptill and Roy. Then Hafeez showed his experience by making a quick 40. It was not a tough call as Ifti and Umar play at 5 and 6, Hafeez was at 4 because we needed a partnership and that's why we sent Hafeez at that time. We will try to play well in the last game and hopefully we will see what happens for the playoffs.

Babar Azam | Peshawar captain: Jason Roy changed the game totally. Bowling was not up to the mark, what we discussed we did not execute. Having one more spinner wouldn't have helped as the pitch was great. We wanted to carry on with the same combination from last game. The way Saim Ayub started, it helped carry on the momentum, as a youngster he is improving day by day and it's good for Pakistan cricket. As a professional, you need to identify a few things and we will sit and discuss what went wrong. We have back to back games now and we want to come back.

Jason Roy | Player of the Match: Just went out there and had some fun. Had to go hard from ball one, on that wicket and with these boundaries, it was a hell of a lot of fun. It was one of those days, it came off, extremely happy. On pitches like these, you have to play proper shots, very tough for the bowlers. This gives us something to smile about, we have got the players but this tournament we have come up short. Really up there, especially in T20 cricket, it does not happen that often and I will cherish every moment.

Martin Guptill: Unbelievable from J Roy. One of the best T20 innings I have seen. I'm speechless. From the start to finish was unbelievable. Originally we were told that we had to chase in 13.2 overs to have a chance and to do it with 10 balls to spare is pretty special. I have been loving it, had a few tough games but that's T20 cricket. Hopefully now we can scrape through to the semis. Babar is a great player, isn't he? He won't hurt you with brutal hitting but he will take away the game with his classical batting.

So that’s why I have been harping on about wanting Fakhar and Sharjeel to open for Pakistan?

Are they from Somalia or are they Pakistani?

There’s no such thing as different or aesthetic in T20 cricket you either score quickly or you don’t the team winning is what matters.
