Rafatullah Mohmand - The man who can win the World T20 for Pakistan

One of the worst openers I've ever seen picked for Pakistan, that too a guy who is approaching 40. Backs away to the leg slide to try and slog over the offside and that's it. He seemed surprised when the England bowlers worked out that he didn't like to get in line. His slogging was almost as blind as the selectors who picked him.

Ahmed Shehzad is hated because of his selfish play. People will pick an unselfish and less talented player over a selfish and more talented player.

How about picking an unselfish player who can get in line and hit with the line rather than backing away like a club level hack?

Looking a lot less nervous today, handling the short ball better.

Much improved when holding his nerves. Could own a lot of knee jerk reactions above.

Handling the short ball better by top edging two of them but yeah ok.

What a hack LOL, fanboys will defend him for the sake of it as usual and won't admit what a hack he is.

Terrible. Would be very ****** off atm if I were Nauman. Lost his place to this hack.

Again a poor outing.

Let's see what he does in the 3rd T20I.

Poor poor player, hopefully his last match for Pakistan.

Too bad. budda's out for a crap 23 and hopefully we'll never see him again.

On a flat track against an inexperienced english bowling lineup!!

He's nowhere near international standard and I cannot understand how he was picked.

He is rubbish. Not internatioal material. Can't understand how he got into the national team when we have atleast 10 better openers than him.

Not good enough. He may have been a better player than this but right now he looks not good enough for International cricket.

You are telling this to a person who thinks this hack will win us the WT20 :)))

Can't blame your ignorance, you've probably never seen him bat in T20 cups. Easy to cry & moan after a player's debut.

Anyone who's seen him bat in domestics will never call him a hack. Learn the meaning of hack first.

His two outings in T20is have been poor, no one's denying that. But that's not how he plays in domestics.

International cricket is a step up from domestic. You can't get away with flailing wildly at this level. If you are going to hit, do it through the line instead of jumping around like an idiot in the crease and trying to carve across the line.

Sorry but not international material. Are we that desperate that we are resorting to this?!

Shockingly poor batsmen pretty much cost us the game with his batting today, cost us all momentum in the inns,

Should not get the last game. Mediocre to the last degree.

Only good for providing some comedy, the way he bats.

Who's idea was it to play a 40 year old, even Misbah would have been more useful than him if they wanted a senior citizen in the team.

You can see why he hasn't played international cricket until now. Two T20s and we haven't seen anything yet to suggest he's international quality, struggles to time the ball and get a clean strike. Not a long-term option either.

Don't like judging players so soon but he has not given any confidence at all in his two innings. Wish we'd go with Umar or Rizwan to open in the last match. Need to find a solution.

Our domestic cricket must be off unbelievable poor quality that this guy was able to get a call up to the National team for T-20's on the basis of a performance in a T-20 tournament.

Don't need another game to judge him at all , forget the technique and all he doesn't even have the power game .

Send him home on the next available flight, if there is a flight later tonight, he should be on it..

Very disappointed in him. I was glad when I heard that he was getting selected but so far he has been a big disappointment. Hopefully he does well in the final game, if he gets to play in that game.

Can any body give me his contact number...on sunday evening there is a tournament in my mohalla and we have 10 players we can play this saint as 11th player .he will bat at 11 , this guy isn't good enough to open for my mohala team let alone Pakistan team..

I am all for it. If Riffatullah is very bad technique wise then no point continuing with him. Select someone who is better technique wise. But dont select a selfish player.

Either it was a desperation selection or it was sirfrashi.

Hopefully it was the latter because otherwise the cupboard must be bare if this guy is all Pak can find.

Umar. He can be really good. Has a very good game against pace. He is excellent at keping the scoreboard ticking as well so thats another problem solved.

Plus most of his brain-freezes are caught in the deep. There is less chance of that happening inside the first six.

I would try a top three of Shehzad, Umar, Rizwan in the next game.

Hafeez and Malik at 4, 5. They can take on the spinners from the word go.

Rafattula and players like him with no technique can play in low standard domestic cricket with most of the bowlers bowling in 120s, but he is not at all good for international cricket, certainly not at this age.

This and no sense of timing as well.

He smahed one with all his strenght and it stopped dead 15 metres from the rope. The outfeild was quick too.

He is on Tableeghi jamat's quota. Inzi and MoYo pressed for his inclusion.

The problem with domestics is that there are 2 dozen teams. So, sides have to fill in mediocre trundlers to complete the 11. As a result guys like Riffat, Iffitikhar, Bilal make merry.

Take the teams down to 6 and watch the hacks get exposed. PSL will prove this point further.

One of the worst players I have seen in my life.He stands out with Krishna Karate.Doesn't even have defensive pull

Don't think we're prepared to experiment. Even today when the pressure was on and the spinners had bowled out, we sent Sarfraz in, ahead of players that are clearly better sloggers.

The most dumbest thread ever, but expected from OP.

Rubbish, useless cricketer. All the cricketers from Peshawar these days are terrible. Send them back to Peshawar and stay there.

We all chose that one instance that defines our reality. For me it would be shehzads brave batting against Bangladesh (or was it zim?) where he went at a strike rate of 60. The die is cast, after that cowardly display.

The die is not cast. Not for selectors and 99 per cent pakistani fans. The performance again was another vindication of my views. You are free to hold your defected views if it pleases you.

Seems like. Top two domestic players; one bowler, one batsman. Both proven to be flops.

He clearly looked out of place but I'd take him over Shehzad. At least he showed intent and won't waste balls. 0(1), 10(5) or 20(10) will all be more valuable than Shehzad's 30 off 60 balls.

lol hope u enjoyed his under 100 SR knock today then.

#owned.

Iftikhar Ahmed - rubbish.
Rafatullah - extremely rubbish
Rizwan - proven to be mediocre. I have a little bit of faith in him, but he's been worked out this series and Fawad Alam looks better.
Imran Khan jr - just lol.

The whole contingent and the mafia was owned today. They were crying today. Funny that we dont see the contingent online on here bumping their usual Masjid Al-Dirar thread. WC-Passion knows what i am talking about.

Good post and summed it up nicely.

All the talk of "talunt" is just hogwash, we are producing minnow level players hence the team is playing like minnows

There is no talent left in the country, we are yet to produce a solid batsman or a decent bowler. We keep picking b.s like anwer ali and rafatullah mohmand.

Cannot disagree even if I wanted to.

Still have slight hope in Rizwan. The guy has shown some ability. Some ... not much, but some.

Very sad day for me.

Have talked about all this talent in Pakistan, but its all bs.

Bilal Asif, Raffat Ullah, Iftikhar, Imran Khan, Imran Khan 2, Rahat Ali(ODI), Yasir Shah(ODI),

Selectors are to blame.

Haha yeah, saw a lot of them crying.

Fact is, the only reason we even got close today was because of Shehzad. And then Afridi. The rest were useless, pathetic and dumb. Another thing, Shehzad played a very thick shot. No brain used. I knew he was going to get out stumped. Worst thing is I saw him get out like that in 2011 against Canada. Terrible

Everyone calm down

Just face the reality of lack of talent coming through rather than bickering

Yeah, didnt like the way he got out. Rest was fine. SR increased from 115 to 116 today btw.

I would quite happily see Babar Azam or Umar Amin open a T20 ahead of this guy. They bat through the line and play straight. I think we have more than enough batsmen to make a decent T20 side.

I hope its clear no more Rafatullah. We don't need his run a ball innings in a t20.

One Shehzad is enough for that
