I have a feeling that Ramiz will be another version of Sethi - he will listen to his press buddies - which in itself may not be bad as long as he listens to the right advice!

Sethi was great. Far better than Mani.

If Ramiz can be like Sethi it would bode really well for PCB.

You sound very optimistic of Rameez. Apart from being an ex-cricketer, what do you think he can bring to the table?

PCB chairman job does not have a lot of financial benefits

Ramiz was not jobless or desperate for this job as he was making good money as a commentator and also a successful YouTuber with him getting sponsors on his videos. It shows he is sincere about this as compared to oldies retired professionally and have nothing to do

Good signs

Well in the long term he only knows that after his tenure as Chairman comes to an end he can ask for more money for commentary because he will have first hand knowledge about what goes in Pakistan cricket. So him taking a pause from commentating to be PCB chairman is only enhancing his resume for high paid gigs in future.

Also, maybe he is eyeing higher posts like at ICC level. But he probably has more than enough money anyway.

???

The chairman job pays you well. Than you get all those benefits in uour contract like vacations and all.

Biggest benefit is that if you get 3 year cobtract and there is a govt re election, and you get fired in the last year of your contract you still get paid half.

Also, your resume looks good.

Plz stop saying that rameez raja or waseem khan are doing some ehsaan or some greater cause

Ramiz needs to focus in bringing back cricket to the schools, colleges and universities around the country and developing the game by taking up such initiatives.

Pakistan needs good facilities such as nets around where kids can get some good experience and practice skills. Better quality grounds are important too making the turf better improving the overall ground infrastructure.

He should look to bring in some experienced folk from abroad into the medial set up and also in coaching and groundsmen too who could teach and help the locals on these.

PCB Chairman is an honorary post meaning that there is no monthly salary, however, the authority comes with other advantages and below are the perks which our heads of PCB enjoy:

Daily Allowance for Local and International Tours – The Chairman is entitled to Rs 10,000 as the daily allowance for domestic tours while $650 for international tours – first class with the spouse – without accommodation. The Chairman is allowed 5-star hotel accommodation with $300 daily allowance.

Accommodation – Rs 100,000 per month for a fully furnished accommodation or the same amount in cash if accommodation is not used. The Chairman is paid Rs 40,000 for utility bills as well. There are 3 full-time servants as well as a security guard.

Personal Vehicle – Ehsan Mani will also have a 3500cc car at his service with a full-time driver.

Other Perks – PCB Chairman is provided with one cell-phone and a landline number and all medical bills for self and spouse are paid by PCB. Business entertainment will be compensated by the PCB as actual.

This is nothing compared to what he earned as a commentator plus being a youtuber

I heard his ideas they are destruction of Pakistan cricket.

He wants independent selection committee and he was saying that Pakistan head coach should be in direct contact with U-19 and U-16 coaches and if for e.g they need power hitter send them 4 kids and was saying that all coaches would report to chief executive so chief selector post may be abolished. He also didn't give weight to domestic performance he wants played to be selected from U-19 he was saying once domestic should be used as practice matches not for selection. He was full of crap ideas god bless Pakistan cricket.

Muhammad Wasim was doing such a fantastic Job he was best chief selector of the decade selecting any domestic performer or potential youngester

I think he has plenty going for him.

He has been actively involved in the game and is fully aware of the dynamics of modern cricket and the areas where Pakistan is lagging.

He will bring some much needed dynamism and energy to the role and I doubt if he would take dictations from the PM like Mani did.

Regardless of what people think of his commentary, he has been the voice of Pakistan cricket for a very long time now, and we can do a lot worse than him.

Apart from that, his appointment could lead to the departure of Wasim Khan which should be the number one priority at this point.

I've heard him say that too. It's embarrassing incoherent babble that I wouldn't even expect from a 12 year old.

The fact some fans are cheering this appointment is laughable.

And the fact the Prime Minister has nominated him shows how out of touch he is. Taking the winning catch in 1992, having an Aitchison education and flowery English on commentary doesn't qualify you for a Chairmanship.

Apart from a mixed tenure as CEO in the early 2000s, which is being charitable, Ramiz has no administrative experience of leading a successful organisation whatsoever. I shouldn't have to spell this out.

Pakistan Cricket Board and New Zealand Cricket have mutually agreed to change the status of next week’s ODI series to a bilateral series from the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League fixtures due to the non-availability of Decision Review System (DRS), a requirement in the event playing conditions.

As New Zealand will return to Pakistan in the 2022-23 season to play two Tests and three ODIs, the two boards have agreed that these 50-over matches will now count towards the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 qualification.
