Multan is good, but Peshawar no. It's a little dangerous.

Quetta, lol. That's just a pipe dream and won't happen for another 40 years.

Unfortunately don't see foreign cricketers travelling to venues anywhere near the Afghan border for time being.

Would love to see cricket back to Peshawar and Quetta though whether those venues can be secured is another thing.

Glad Ramiz is in charge. He is a doer unlike a few who are by nature pessimistic

He also said there will be only 6 team's till PSL 10. Disappointed

Peshawar should use the Pindi stadium as home venue

Quetta could use Multan or Faislabad as home venue

The other teams can use there own cities as venues as the best way forward

Like Rambo said this PSL financially this year was a success so fantastic for owners so all the way up for the PSL inshaallah

The proper home and away concept must be implemented. Good on Rambo. Get the Peshawar and Quetta Stadiums ready.

Home and away fixtures will make the tournament a much better spectacle and a fairer one.

Peshawar will play at Arbab Niaz. The reno is almost completed and it will be our best stadium for all intents and purposes. I don’t see security being that big of an issue in Peshawar.

There should be matches at Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan. Peshawar might be a bit dangerous right now and Quetta lol. That is never happening for the next 50 years.

Ramiz will make it happen. Thank God he is in charge and a man of action

But there was a time when they said that they weren't coming to PK. IA it happens

These matches can be held anywhere in Pakistan given the security arrangements in place.

People who have barely ever stepped a foot in Pakistan are questioning whether matches can be held in Quetta or Peshawar. Too funny.

If the govt provides state level security, the matches can be held anywhere in Pakistan

Quetta and peshawar?

Not gonna happen. Especially quetta....

Quetta yes, however i don't understand why people here think on Peshawar a dangerous country.

You get positive vibes from Ramiz. It's a feel good factor.

Quetta seems unrealistic to me but Multan absolutely should get some games next year. They already hosted a couple of PSL games in last year's tournament didn't they? Or was it year before, I'm not sure. Roussow scored a hundred in front of a partisan home crowd.

Will be great to see some games in Peshawar too. I bet you the crowds there will be huge.

Out of interest, why is Quetta and Peshawar such no go areas?

There have been bomb blasts taking place in baluchistan. Alot of stuff is going on therez alot of people are being abducted by our security forces. There is alot of anger amongest the baluhis and they dont get media coverage. Thus they are willing to do anything tk get coverage on whats happening in that side of the country.

There are indian proxies active and baluchi liberation group. Hosting a match in quetta will allow them to do anything to gain attention.....

Peshawar issue is that in the past there was the regiion of fata with kpk, and in fata laws of pakistan did not apply. Thusz terrorists would reside in fata conduct their activity and than run off to these areas and to Afghanistan....

The ttp which is being protected by the afghan taliban probably have sleepers here kn these areas and would want to strike....

Plusz the arbab stadium in the past, the section of the stadium is inside a mohalla. The stadium does not have its own perimeters. I dont know if during the rrcent construction they looked into this problem or not. Thusz arbab niaz stadoum in peshawar acts as a security threat due to the section that is right next to a mohalla...

There is a chance that just maybe games in peshawar might just get held. But quetta is not gonna happen. Peshawar is also very difficult, and it is not worth the risk....

IA in the next few years but not in the short term.

Brother its been 30 years and our country still has a policy where they are not eliminating the taliban.... And with the current policy being negotiation with the ttp the situation is not gonna improve in the next 15 years.

IA I see improvement in Balochistan. I agree we have let it down but as the Afg hideouts close, we should see progress in Balochistan

Ramiz is doing a good job here no matter what his critics say. If he says matches can be played in Quetta then lets trust him. There has to be a starting point somewhere if we are to develop Baluchistan.

I remember the 1st time IK suggested that we should play the whole of the PSL in PK, people laughed and here we are today with an amazingly successful tournament and that too in the middle of the pandemic. IA Quetta here we come

I think I agree with the posters on here that Quetta is incredibly unlikely for 3 years atleast, and that's being wildly optimistic.

Security aside, infrastructure is also a major issue in Baluchistan. The Bugti stadium is surely crumbling, plus I'm not sure if there is a good enough airport and hotel facilities to accomodate PSL squads there (happy to be corrected by local posters on here)

Security is Also a major issue, in that there's a lot of stuff going on in Baluchistan that brings a lot of unpredictability. And no security expert will advise foreign players to travel there for the foreseeable future. The workaround for this is that Quetta play with either full Pakistani or perhaps with Afghan players in Quetta.

Lastly on Peshawar, InshAllah hopefully the Arbab Niaz stadium will be complete by the next PSL, whenever that is. Security wise, I get Major 's point on the Mohalla being an issue, however if they can restrict entry to the Mohalla and thoroughly canvass all surrounding buildings, it's doable from a security point of view.

Also, hopefully InshAllah the security situation will settle down further on the Afghan border once the next PSL rolls around.

In closing, I have to emphasize how incredible it was to see the Lahore crowd out in numbers for really all LQ fixtures. It truly emphasized how tribal Pakistan cricket fans are, how vibrant the crowds were (the witty signs in the crowd were top bants!!) and how much full crowds add to the TV product as well. Which is why, at a minimum, we need Multan and Pindi to atleast hold all home matches for ISLU and MS next year. InshAllah hopefully we can have Peshawar for PZ and have Quetta play in Faisalabad.

Also we need to make Baluch people feel Pakistanis. Pak needs Bakuch players because they have always been made to feel like outsiders. We need to develop the infrastructure in that province to make them feel wanted and patriotic.

IK suggestion was perhaps during a more difficult time compared to now when the military is taking decisive action against foreign backed terrorists. Need to embrace the Baluch, they're our own people.

Nadeem Omar will demand games in Quetta if the other Franchises are accommodated in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Multan.

Balochistan has been neglected for very long and we have to bring Cricket to that part of Pakistan.

I would love to see it. However, do they the infrastructure to support high level matches (I.e. functioning stadium, good hotel, airport facilities etc?) Not to mention the security question?

They can do something on a war footing. Bringing in temporary transportable flood lights if needed or even play day games. The PCB has held domestic matches at the Bugti and Ayub Stadium. Quetta has five star hotels. For a high profile tournament like this, I am certain the PCB, Federal Govt and Provincial Govt, Pakistani Army will provide the best security possible

Great Post. The Baluch are our brothers and we need to bring into our vision for PK.

A better option might be to hold a few matches for Quetta in Gwadar. There’s a new PC hotel there plus that picturesque ground that might just serve its purpose to showcase Balochistan to the world.
They can setup temporary seating, it just might work..

Ah okay, did not know as there is not much coverage on these regions. Thanks

This is actually a better idea. Yes in Baluchistan matches can be held in gwader. The whole city can be cordoned off easily as there is only one entery point and the stadium along with hotel thabkfully come in that port area i think.

Airport is in the city and its not like teams have to travel to the airport everday. They can even have a cruise travel from gwader to karachi when shifting the teams but in that case they would have to play full legs...

Gwader is a good idea
