Giving this poster a 10 out of 10 is a no brainier for me. She is a very skillful writer and poster who can inspire many with her words. She is someone who is willing to take the time and explain in detail of what she has got to present. On Pakpassion you don't really see too many skillful writers and posters as her. She would easily be on my top five posters who have good quality posts. BL has vast knowledge of topics that she is willing to share. You can tell she spends long hours in the library with her knowledge of things. I would also like to add she is one of those posters who also gave me the confidence to post as I do. So BL I would like to thank you and hope your dreams come true.

I follow her posts not for stalking purposes, but more to see the drama unfold in a thread. There is never a dull moment when 96 is around. Her posts haven't been as inspirational as BL's but you can tell she wants to learn new things everyday. She is also a former american and she seems to take pride in it to. So my to advice anyone who sees this poster, never mess with America or else you will face her American side!

That was very endearing, ZS! :) You give me far more credit than I deserve - I hope to recover my writing form soon, but I'm glad you're motivated to post more :) I'd term myself a struggling writer - I feel I myself am the biggest hurdle to my progress, and I haven't overcome myself as of now.. Anyhow, thank you very much for kind remarks (I wish you the same, and more!) - as I've said before, if there's anything you wish to discuss w/ regards to writing, do let me know :)

I don't feel I did, I said it like I saw it. I am known to be a sharp minded person who is able to see through many things in far better detail. So I said what I said over what I saw. Also over the weekend I learned that at times you have things in you that you are not able to see yourself till someone reminds you. That is exactly what I did here.

You are more like a out of form batsmen who is trying to get up from the form he had lost. Its not that you have lost your writing ability, You have it. You just need to stop over thinking things and just do it. Like they say it is easier to be in form but it is even harder to get up and stay in form.

Speaking of writing, I actually finished a game that had a decent written story. That game itself was a great inspiration itself. I haven't really wrote a story yet, but I am learning as I play or watch stuff. Anyways you welcome BL.

Thanks for your insight :) You are spot on with the out-of-form batsman analogy - I've bounced back before - post O levels, I had a really hard time even writing out my school essays (at least I dont have any problems writing my boring political essays)..

It's not too bad though, dont worry :) Keep it up - we need a writing thread too btw :)

It gets tiresome reading the same wrist slitty comments in the cfs so I really don't participate much these days. Usually log in read a few things and then hang out in the leagues. Don't get me started on tp, thats just a mess with spam deluxe.

He looks to be like a very laid back poster, whose views can be confused as a Pakistani. (I can't imagine how many times I thought he was a Pakistani till I saw his face.) I gave him a 9 because I don't really know much more about him then that.

His point of view only works if you spent your time living in Pakistan, Not if you live out in the states. Why would anyone bother going back when there is so much opportunity out there?

His POV may be applicable predominantly to Pakistan born-and-breds, yes, but not "only".

It's still who we are, you know. I can look American, dress American, eat, talk, think American, but at the end of the day, I have Pakistani blood running through my veins. We owe this country even if its never done anything for me or you.

You've never lived here, have you? It may not be much, but it's still a wonderful place. People over-exaggerate (if that's a word) when it comes to Pakistan and undermine its qualities.

What makes the whole situation worse is how everyone leeches off the limited resources of this country, and then the cream of the crop get up and run away, and spend the rest of their life whining over the situation Pakistan is in, yet don't bother to make a difference, in fact, they don't even bother to see whether, and how much, things have changed.

And to be honest, nothing ever will unless people stop thinking the way you are, why anyone should return when you're living the good life. You need to create opportunities, this isn't a fairy tale where chances are going to come knock on your door.

And since you're American, I thought this would be fitting here, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." :)

If you really want to go deep into our roots then I would say we are part Indian as well. That logic of you leaving the country, doesn't make sense to me because technically every Pakistani left India and made a new country. So should I sit here and say you all owe it back to India as well?

No, because Pakistan is a clearly defined country now where I was born and where my allegiance should lie. I can't speak for people who migrated from India after independence. By this logic, once upon a time there were no countries at all so we should remove all border and call ourselves citizens of the world. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that.

I think that makes a far better sense then generalizing and living in one country. You live there, you were born there and technically you are part of the same system that is destroying the country. If others find a better living out there then good for them. If you take away the patriotism involved with this country then you will see this country is just a ordinary country. This talk of changing the country by having people who are capable there, is nothing but a wishful thinking. Because if you were really serious about your life you would go and find opportunities out there. Of course this doesn't apply to everyone, but to most it would.

I agree that majority of the people make tall claims but don't do anything practical but there also people who do.

your allegiances are just tools for corrupt governments...whether its Pakistan, USA or England.
we are so far ahead of any other specie, we're all humans- so this love for countries which divides people is proper annoying since we live in ONE world...Its like making alliances with cities in Pak like Lahore, Mirpur, Karachi etc but no, you're all Pakistani..similarly alliances with countries NO- you're all earth citizens


Also to the people opposing Zohaib- the internet is a world wise used application so its a good way of spreading his views...Its better than protesting and then getting shot for it

We can all start expressing ourselves and nothing will ever change.

You have to get up and do things, to change them. As Mamoon says, it's gonna take an entire generation's effort to save this place.

But which generation, when we're all too wrapped up in our own lives, blinded by the fact that we're in a good position?

its better to make the world a better place rather than your country...
I have many reasons to be Patriotic to my country...Free education, NHS etc. but is my country helping other countries? Its better to see everyone prosper.
