What's new

Real Madrid C.F.

I'm hoping yes, Falcao coming in will dry up Isco's minutes, which he desperately needs. Also, Jese comes back in October/November and he can play winger/CF so they're technically playing with one striker for just a couple of months. Carlo also said Karim is all he needs.
Isco is over hyped and he is not a striker by any means. If it was me i would sell him and not Di Maria.

Falcao is a must.Benzema misses too many chances and isnt Madrid quality TBH.

Another trophy in the bag

Real Madrid started their campaign with a UEFA Super cup win :14:

well done guys

Great game, Kroos was fantastic and so was James and Ronaldo.

He isn't good as a false nine as he is a midfielder, no doubt. But you can't deny he is excellent in small spaces. Still haven't heard any news about Falcao.

A below average outing for Rodriguez, Kroos though already seems like a Madrid veteran. The massive gulf in their salaries is completely driven by market forces and lack of Bayern's bargaining power, otherwise he's the real deal for Madrid and is going to boost their play big time. Rodriguez hopefully will find a way to shine through this lot.

James doesn't really seem ready.

Di maria to Man United

We will miss him and i hope james justifies his price tag with some eye catching performaces

So Real have sold their best player two years in a row now .. :P

Congratulations to Real on getting the refund for Ronaldo purchase from Despo United.

:))

So much for Signing Kroos, James, Navas :)))

How the hell a Real A team gives up a 2 goal lead to minnows like Sociedad and end up 4-2 :)))

#putaMadrid

8-2 :D

Another hat trick for Ronaldo.

James scores a great goal too.

2 for Chicharito :14:

2 Bale

Madrid looking stronger then ever but defence is still a concern for us .. we should play illaramendi as a holding midfielder and replace james with benzeme as play him as a false 9

madrid announced thr in debt-602m euro's, increased by 61m euro's from last yr,

do spanish have thr version ffp?

5-1 victory against Elce

Ronaldo is on fire .. This formation is much better and suits our new signings
#HalaMadrid

Ronaldo is on fire. Can't wait for El Classico when Suarez and Messi demolish Madrid

It is going to take time for Suarez to find match form.

However, his front teeth should have healed up by now. :afridi

Got to give it to Ronaldo ... no one else in the world celebrates PK's and tap ins like he does :)

Also I see that Ancelotti has finally figured out that Kroos is not a defensive midfielder.

Good win against a promising villareal side !

Ronalo is in a very good shape , Will be a tough title race this time in la liga

considering their current defensive line, Real need a defensive mid-fielder....I think Khadeira will have to come in!

Desperate manchester mnited embarrassing themselves through flying banner. :)))

Top of the league for today!

Team is playing really good withou Bale, abit too good.

5-1 tonight.

Toni Kroos scores his first goal, was pretty classy. Also set-up a goal later on for Bale. He's absolute class act Toni Kroos, great buy for Madrid.

everyone is performing !
Madrid is getting stronger with every match they play

They looked awful against Liverpool midweek

The Spanish league is quite weak due to their distribution model but madrid really have a monopoly on midfielders at the moment
They play eerily similar to Germany even without kheidera

Modric injury is a big blow for us !! Hopefully khedira will be back in form

Real madrid ''b/c'' team winning 5-0 against cornella

jese returned back from a long term injury and celebrated his return in style with a lovely finish !
Madrid looking very composed this season
i will fancy our chances to defend CL this year

Another day, another record. Celta played well though, I could see why they beat Barca at home.

Hope we grab all the points before the break!

Pepe has cleaned up his act in a big way. Of the 40 first-choice centre-backs in La Liga, he is the only one who has not yet been cautioned and, furthermore, he's only committed five fouls.
Not only has the 31-year-old hardly given away any fouls, but not a single one of them merited a yellow card. For a player who is followed everywhere he goes by a shady past, the figures are astounding, and they show that he's more focused and in better form than he ever has been in the past.
Pepe has committed 20 fewer fouls than his partner at the heart of the Real Madrid defence, Sergio Ramos, who has also been booked five times. As was plain to see in Almería, the Portuguese is in fine physical fettle, which allows him to be ruthlessly efficient in how he goes about his business, so he doesn't need to give fouls away. While many may find it difficult to believe, Pepe is topping the table as the cleanest centre-back in the league.
To understand how well Pepe is doing, with his five fouls and zero yellow cards, it is interesting to compare him to other centre-backs at leading Spanish clubs: Javier Mascherano has committed eight fouls and has seen yellow and red once apiece; Gerard Piqué has conceded seven fouls and has four yellow cards; Diego Godín has given away eight fouls and picked up three yellows; while Miranda has fouled seven times and seen four yellows.

What a disastrous collapse to Real Madrid game this year. All look out of sort.

Bale more looks like £8 million player than £80 million. Bale has't looked the same as he was in Tottenham. He is always under Ronaldo shadow, never gets that same freedom to express himself that he got while playing for spurs. He doesn't even shoot these days, most of the time passes to his team-mates than score, so Madrid crowd doesn't boo him for not passing and being tagged 'selfish' .

International week is over, now back to business.

We still have a chance to win this league, one slip from Barca and we are in the game.

Absolute annihilation from Real. 9-1 with Ronaldo bagging 5. Incredible performance and it genuinely could've been a score akin to the one Pakistan's cricket team usually has after the first 10 overs.

Seems like benitez is on it's way to madrid . Tough times ahead for us

Batman can you please change the year to 15/16 here ?

So the final awaits.

ATM are a pretty strong side but we've had the wood on them in CL football,so far.

The 11th CL title is agonizingly close.I would hope for a game like the La Decima title,2 years ago,but that was a once in a lifetime game.IA we will win again.

Hopefully Athletico will win. I can't stand Real, their gloryhunting fans and arrogant Ronaldo

I hope Zidane shouldn't be fired if madrid goes trophyless this season

absolutely woeful performance. No teamwork what so ever

absolutely woeful performance. No teamwork what so ever

The whole team was playing horribly since that sevilla game....Bale loss his brain yesterday....marcelo thinking that he's a winger and floating on flanks again and agan....This is strange but truth is that the star stunned madrid is still depending too much on 32 year old ronaldo's individual brilliance

The guy benzema was abysmal throughout this whole season...... I have no idea if it's regression or just lack of confidence but he needs to stop playing. I usually like the guy but I think he's running out of time. However, I am not sure morata is the ready-made solution for this,he is also no more the player he used to be

Real Madrid fans have been rather vocal about the refereeing in Barca's UCL game. One wonders where these same fans were when a clear Barcelona goal was disallowed in their 1-1 draw with Betis. Or the dubious penalty Real were awarded when they were losing to Villarreal. If not for the officials, Barcelona could be cruising towards the La Liga title. #Refdrid

atm when you watch Madrid you dont see a cohesive team a style of play or any philosophy. It seems to be just relying on their extremely talented individuals such as Ronaldo and Bale to dig them out of a hole. Or rely on set pieces to score. I think a team like Bayern or even Barca now would expose Real.

another game, another flukey Ramos header to save the day. How long will Madrid's luck carry on like this. But for now its advantage Real in the title race.

Barca are better chasing.

Real aren't playing well and have the pressure of maintaining their lead.

@Ama the classico at the Bernabeu will settle it i feel. If Real win that i dont see Barca catching em. But if Barca win i think they will catch them.

Another Great season for Zidane and his men. Winning a CL will be an icing on the cake for Madrid

The luckiest season I've ever seen. I followed RM and barca the entire season and the amount of luck rm had this season was just unbelievable. The part that wasn't down to luck was down to Marcelo and isco.

Real Madrid collected their first Champions League victory of the season at Galatasaray to ease the pressure on manager Zinedine Zidane.

The La Liga side suffered a shock league defeat against Mallorca at the weekend and had failed to win their opening two group games, with reports in Spain suggesting Frenchman Zidane could be sacked if they lost in Istanbul.

But Toni Kroos' deflected first-half strike following Eden Hazard's cutback was enough to seal the three points.

Big money summer signing Hazard should have made it a more comfortable scoreline for the 13-time European champions but somehow struck the crossbar from six yards out with an open goal.

Turkish champions Galatasaray provided plenty of goalscoring threat but could not find the leveller with on-loan Brighton striker Florian Andone thwarted twice by sharp Thibaut Courtois saves and Steven Nzonzi heading over from close range late on.

Real's win moves them up to second in Group A, five points behind leaders Paris St-Germain who eased past Club Bruges.

Real were bottom of the group after suffering a heavy 3-0 loss at PSG and being held to a home draw by Club Bruges and there was talk that another defeat could signal the end of Zidane's second spell in charge at the Bernabeu.

The Spanish side are second in the league, one point behind Barcelona, but the major signings have yet to get going, putting Zidane's job under scrutiny.

Having spent almost £300m on a major squad rebuild, Brazil teenager Rodrygo - a £40m acquisition from Santos - was handed his competition debut and £150m forward Hazard was the only other player brought in during the summer to make the starting line-up.

Belgium international Hazard still looks rusty after an injury-hit start to his Real career and this was epitomised by missing a second-half sitter. He also struck two powerful efforts straight at goalkeeper Fernando Muslera.

Luka Jovic, a £53m signing from Eintracht Frankfurt, was given eight minutes as a substitute and is yet to score for Real, while defender £43m former Porto defender Eder Militao remained on the bench once again.

Striker Karim Benzema flashed a shot narrowly over and saw a rising strike pushed out by Muslera with the busy Uruguayan making a total of 12 saves in the contest.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, are currently sixth in the league, four points adrift of surprise leaders Alanyaspor, and continued their dreadful Champions League run, now winning just two of their last 23 games in the competition.

They should have claimed at least a point from this game but could not find a way past ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois, who dived low to his left to keep out Younes Belhanda's first-time strike.

Gala's rotten run - the stats
Real Madrid have ended a run of three Champions League games without a win (D1 L2).
Galatasaray have failed to win any of their last eight Champions League games (D2 L6), failing to score in seven of those eight games.
Real scored in the first half of a Champions League game for the first time in seven games, since scoring four first-half goals against Viktoria Plzen in November 2018.
This was Real's first clean sheet in the competition since a 2-0 away win against Roma in November 2018, having conceded 13 goals in their five previous such games.
Galatasaray faced 27 shots in this game, the most they have faced in a Champions League game since 2003.
Real's Toni Kroos has scored on his 100th appearance in the Champions League. He is the fifth player to do so in the competition, after Thierry Henry, Andrea Pirlo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Eder Militao: Real Madrid defender tests positive for coronavirus

Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has tested positive for coronavirus and will miss Tuesday's Champions League game against Inter Milan.

The Brazilian, 22, will undergo a mandatory period of self-isolation.

A club statement confirmed that Militao was the only person to test positive after players, coaching staff and club employees were tested on Sunday.

The Spanish club, who are bottom of Champions League Group B, host third-placed Inter in Madrid at 20:00 BST.

Militao has made three appearances for Real this season, including their Champions League opener against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Real have taken just one point from their first two group stage games, losing 3-2 to Shakhtar and drawing with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Soler scores hat-trick of penalties as Valencia thrash Real Madrid 4-1

Carlos Soler scored three penalties as Valencia thrashed Real Madrid in an extraordinary La Liga match on Sunday.

Karim Benzema put visitors Real ahead from long range before Soler equalised from a penalty that was retaken following an encroachment.

Raphael Varane's own goal made it 2-1 and Soler increased the lead from the spot after Marcelo fouled Maxi Gomez.

Valencia were awarded another spot-kick when Sergio Ramos handled, Soler completing his hat-trick.

Reigning champions Real were looking to move one point behind Spanish top-flight leaders Real Sociedad before the international break.

But Zinedine Zidane's side remain four points off the summit after this heavy defeat, although they do have a game in hand.

To add to their problems, Benzema failed to finish the game after going off injured.

There was no sign of what was to follow when the France forward put the visitors ahead with a scorching strike from outside the area.

Valencia levelled through a twice-taken penalty, which had been awarded after Lucas Vazquez handled.

Soler had his spot-kick saved by Thibaut Courtois and hit the post with the rebound. Team-mate Yunus Musah then poked the loose ball home, only for the goal to be ruled out after a video assistant referee (VAR) review showed him encroaching in the area.

A retake was ordered and Soler made it 1-1.

The hosts, who only had one attempt on target in the first half, took the lead before the break through a bizarre own goal by Varane, who sent the ball over his head and over the line - the goal awarded several minutes later following another VAR review.

In an astonishing match, Valencia went on to score from two more penalties - 23-year-old Soler becoming only the third player in La Liga history to score three spot-kicks in a game.

What's going on at Real Madrid?

It has been a strange start to the Spanish top-flight season. Real currently sit fourth in La Liga after eight games, despite victory over Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Zinedine Zidane's men are four points behind league leaders Real Sociedad and ten clear of bottom-placed Huesca. Complacency has been blamed for two league defeats, to newly-promoted Cadiz and at Valencia, where they were soundly beaten 4-1 in their last outing.

Madrid's defence was a shambles against a Valencia team stripped of their key assets as a result of no European football and Covid-19. Head coach Javi Gracia had even threatened to walk after a mass clear-out of his squad to reduce the club's operating budget by 40 per cent.

Ferran Torres, Dani Parejo, Ezequiel Garay, Francis Coquelin, Rodrigo Moreno and Cristiano Piccini all departed but Carlos Soler scored a hat-trick of penalties to turn up the heat on Zidane.

Of equal concern to the board will be Real's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages, with the side currently third in Group B at the midway point, ahead of Inter Milan but trailing Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk.

Toni Kroos has been vocal in the press this week, telling Spanish outlet Marca: "It's true we're missing something.

"It's not a secret. We need to be constant - if you look at our results, you see two good, one bad. We have to do better. We have to improve if we want to win something."

Zidane will be the first to acknowledge that at Real Madrid, where there are not results, there will be discussions.

Ramos misses 2 penalties as he reaches record 177th Spain appearance

Sergio Ramos had two penalties saved on the night he became the most capped male European player as Spain drew with Switzerland in the Nations League.

Ramos was winning his 177th cap, taking him past Gianluigi Buffon's record - but it was a game to forget.

The 34-year-old had his first penalty saved by Yann Sommer as he tried to place it in the corner.

His second was an attempted chip which barely left the ground as Sommer held on to it.

He had scored his previous 25 attempts for Spain and Real Madrid.

"Sergio's numbers for penalties are out of this world," said Spain boss Luis Enrique.

"If there had been a third penalty, he would have taken that one as well."

Borussia Monchengladbach keeper Sommer told Swiss broadcaster SRF: "I've come up against Ramos in the Champions League recently, so that means I've been previously engaged in preparing for his penalties.

"I think he wanted to chip the second one, but it worked out well for me."

Both of those spot-kicks were with Spain 1-0 down following Remo Freuler's clever finish from Breel Embolo's cross.

Real Madrid prepare another big sprint towards the LaLiga Santander title

Zinedine Zidane is working hard to bring another LaLiga Santander title to Real Madrid. The Frenchman's goal is to win the four remaining games and retain the title that he guided the side to last season.

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona's draw at the Camp Nou on Saturday has put everything in Real Madrid's hands, and they know that four wins will see them come out on top of the pile for the second year in a row, despite the countless problems they've had throughout the season.

Zidane is an expert when it comes to run-ins. Nothing that came before this point matters, which Real Madrid showed last season with their storming run towards the title after the COVID-19-enforced break.

Three months without defeat
Real Madrid haven't lost in LaLiga Santander since January 30. Since then, they've won 10 and drawn four, claiming 32 points from the 42 on offer.

They're experts in the final stretch of a season under Zidane, and they know that they don't have to keep going for too much longer to guarantee silverware.

The 2019/20 season saw them in a similar position, but with fewer rivals in the race for the title.

Los Blancos managed to win 10 games in a row after lockdown, drawing one, which saw them move ahead of Barcelona and end the season with an unexpected league title.

Although they won't repeat a double this season, they can take a lot from the 2016/17 season. In that campaign, Barcelona won in Matchday 33 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, piling pressure onto Real Madrid for the last few matchdays.

Then, they won each of their remaining games to pip Barcelona.

In Zidane's first season in charge, Real Madrid put unexpected pressure on Barcelona when the title looked to have been decided. In Matchday 26, they were 12 points adrift, but they kept on winning and managed to push Barcelona right until the last day of the season.

Real Madrid need to win four games in a row to claim another title, having not won back-to-back titles since 2006/07 and 2007/08. It would be their 35th in all.

Aging squad and most of their recent signings have been huge flops(Hazard, Vinicius, Rodrgo, Mariano, and Jovic).

They need a serious overhaul.

Toni Kroos to miss La Liga final day following positive Covid-19 test

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos will miss their La Liga final day showdown with Villarreal after testing positive for Covid-19.

The German star was omitted from Zinedine Zidane‘s squad for last weekend’s 1-0 win away at Athletic Bilbao as a precaution after coming into close contact with someone who tested positive for the virus.

However, Los Blancos have now released an official statement confirming the 31-year-old has now return a positive test today.

He will sit out the last game of the season as per current La Liga Covid-19 guidelines regarding mandatory self isolation but he is not expected to miss Germany duty at Euro 2020 this summer.

Real Madrid head into the final game of the campaign needing a win against the Yellow Submarine to keep themselves in the running to retain the title.

However, Zidane’s side will need Atletico Madrid to either draw or lose away at Real Valladolid to stand a chance of overtaking them either outright or based on head to head record.

great free transfer for madrid - not many players go to madrid on a free - any news on his new wage?

wont be surprised it will be between 350-420k a week

Have no idea - why bayern didn't sell him last yr - surely they new he didn't want to stay, would have triggered a transfer war between many clubs - easily lost out on £50-65m
