I think they will go with Hasan Ali, Shaheen Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Shinwari and Ehsan Adil, might surprise us with Naseem Shah.

Your thoughts?

Rahat Ali, umar Gul, Muhammed sami, Azhar mahmood and Abdul razzaq in all likeliness with misbah in charge.

On a serious note, the conditions in Australia with the ball tend to be tough once the kookaburra ball goes soft and with no decent enough test all rounders in team, it may mean pakistan having to play 3 seamers and 1 spinner. Which means the 3 seamers will need to get through a lot of overs, therefore we cant have have unfit seamers and players not strong enough for 5 day game in the side.

Sameen Gul ? ? ?

No one's talking about him because he hasn't played a televised match or played a national t20 match this season. That's just how Pakistan cricket works. They only go after the Youngtsers that are hyped up. That's not necessarily a bad thing when it comes to someone like Naseem, but unfortunately Sameen has to miss out.

Which is why they should pick Aamer Yamin as he can bat well and get through 10 overs in a day.

In place of who? Our batting is not strong enough to play just 5 batsmen and a keeper, especially if the keep is Sarfaraz who offers nothing with the bat.

Rizwan should hopefully keep. Yamin can bat at 7.

1.Abid
2. Shan
3. Haris
4. Babar
5. Asad
6. Rizwan
7. Yamin
8. Shadab
9. Ehsan
10. Shaheen
11. Naseem

Ehsan can bat too.
Shadab adds depth and has proven he is a decent test batter and can play short balling.

Abbas, Shaheen, Rahat/Ehsan & Fahim. Playing XI should look like this:

1. Imam
2. Azhar
3. Babar
4. Fawad
5. Shafiq
6. Rizwan
7. Shadab
8. Faheem
9. Rahat/Ehsan
10. Shaheen
11. Abbass

Why are we not taking Abbas? Is he injured?

His bowling is not suited to Australian conditions where he will get no lateral movement and will get too much bounce for his style of bowling, which is attacking the stumps. He has been badly out of form lately (NZ test match, South Africa series, and one of the poorest pacers in the QeA trophy). Ehsan Adil is in good form, taller, a bit quicker and shapes the ball more.

Ali, Shaheen and Abbas are going to be locks barring injury. Beyond that I dunno.

Ehsan Adil is playing for second XI. Will be a surprise if he gets selected.

Adil and Sameen would be an ideal propsects on those pitches , they both are enough experienced as well , I am seeing Hasan Ali and Shaheen opening , If Abbas is unfit or out of form (which in my opinion he is)

abbas and shaheen should be automatic picks.

aamer yamin should be picked as well.

one of mir hamza or ehsan adil should be picked as well , or both.

for spinners pakistan should choose zafar gohar and yasir shah.

my starting 11

imam ul haq
babar azam
azhar ali
haris sohail
asad shafiq
mohammad rizwan
amir yamin
yasir shah
ehsan adil
abbas
shaheen

Babar should open , he is the most equipped batsman in pakistan to play swing.

Mir Hamza has 1 wicket in the whole QeA trophy this year.

The fact is that which ever team we take, it will lose, because by the time our players adjust to the extra bounce, the series is normally over. Our strongest team in the modern era lost 3-0 in 99( although if Langer had been given in the 2nd innings, it could have been a different story). Our batting should perform, they have no excuses but our bowling is weak in those conditions and you can see Smith, Warner et al scoring runs by the bucket load.

SSA
Ehsan Adil
Naseem Shah
Mohammad Abbas
Mohammad Amir (grovel please Misbah)
Faheem Ashraf or Aamer Yamin
Sameen Gul

I don't know about others, but Shaheen and Sameen are must picks, as both have good FC records and got ideal heights due to which they can click on almost any surfaces because of the extra bounce they will get.

Unless they get to play on some overcaste Brisbane or Sydney morning- he is useless in tests and will bring nothing. None of these bowlers will cause Aussie batsman to lose sleep, Afridi may his moments but can the young body last the pace.

Brisbane usually helps the seamers a bit, also with adelaide being a day/night test Abbas ability to damage in helpful conditions means he should be picked.

Steve Smith is going to eat our bowlers alive

Another whitewash on the cards

Shall we take Shaheen Shah? He is not playing any games of late.

There will be 3 tour matches including one T20, 3 day match and a 2 day match where he can get his match form back and also he is the best pacer we have got especially considering the conditions.

Sameen Gul is definitely worth giving a shot. His FC track record has been excellent thus far.

Abbas and Shaheen are automatic selections if they're healthy. I think Gul and Shah will be picked and given a shot. All the other options after that are so underwhelming that I think they might as well just pick Hasnain for his sheer pace.

Other bowlers in FC have really struggled this season and I don't see someone like Mir Hamza being given a shot given his struggles and relies on swing to get wickets which he won't get in Australia.

Abbas and Shaheen
Hasan Ali as 3rd seamer to start with Hasnain in reserves

Also it won't happen, but please drop Yasir and pick a fingerspinner who can bowl dry

Yamin deserves a crack at the AR position while Faheem needs to go back to the drawing board.

Rest of the team seems to generally pick itself. 3rd pacer is up for grabs and that's pretty much it.

Pakistan really can't win in Aus so they may as well go for aggressive selections and hope individual performances can pull something out of the bag.

Imam
Azhar
Babar
Shafiq
Haris
Rizwan
Shadab
Yamin/Faheem
???
Shaheen
Abbas

My pacers would be Abbass, Shaheen, Hasnain, Naseem and Sameen.

My team:
1. Imam
2. Shan

4. Haris
5. Babar
6. Asad
7. Sarfaraz
8. Sameen
9. Abbass
10. Naseem
11. Shaheen

4 pacers and Haris being the part timer option.

Pacers should be Shaheen, Sameen, Ehsan, Abbas, Nasim, and Yamin as an allrounder. They will probably pick Rahat and Faheem over Sameen and Yamin though.

My team:

1. Imam ul Haq
2. Abid Ali
3. Azhar Ali
4. Haris Sohail
5. Babar Azam
6. Asad Shafiq
7. Mohammad Rizwan
8. Yasir Shah/Zafar Gohar
9. Shaheen Afridi
10 Mohammad Musa/Tabish Khan
11 Mohammad Abbas
