Reasons why India can win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Will India win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 despite its current dip in form?

India will go in with the most "out of form" batsmen among all countries. They could lose all 3 matches in the preliminary round.

They will lost 2 for sure.bng will be a tight call as bng are more pathetic than us.but their bowling is interesting case.if they can knock us like Chennai first innings, no one to save us.am really hoping eng will give us a hammering in the odi series and some changes like jaiswal, nitish in ct playing squad.

Jadeja, Gambhir, Kohli the only hurdles in India's way. Although VK has a good record in Dubai but he looks out of touch for quite some time now.

Can't say anything about India yet, as they had the players and resources. But like PCT, they aren't good at their management and disposal. Again they preferred characters who are at the fag end of their career.

Former India captain MS Dhoni is all set to support his team in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, having appeared in a fun promo for the tournament:

“When I was the captain, it was easy to remain cool but it won’t be easy to watch Champions Trophy as a fan. Our team might be strong but if we lose one game, then we’re almost out of the tournament. The temperature has risen so much due to constant tension.”

K.L. Rahul is single handedly capable of ruining whatever little chances India might have.

India has gone with 4 proper spinners that was a necessity in these conditions while Pakistan opted for a single spinner who has played only 3-4 games. That is gonna make a huge difference. .

India might go in the final but seeing them win??? 40-60 chances

Damn. forgot that baggage lol How many excess baggage. Kohli, Rohit, Rahul, Jadeja. All these 30 pluses will bury us with selfish knocks
As of now a weird pattern is going on in indian cricket team. Impact wise Any youngster is performing more than double of his age while the oldies are performing less than half of their age . Exceptions are for bumrah and mostly shami.

KL Rahul has a unique record of not winning any ICC tournament at any level. Didn't win IPL either. Such a certified panauti. India won an ICC tournament after 10 years. Guess what. KL Rahul didn't play in that tournament.

Plus their useless PR team. Ind team are like babies , so they need the "eggsperience" of these 4 leeches will be the PR spin by them. Jaiswal hasnt played ODIs yet. Isnt that ridiculous ? Boggles the mind. And this in a nation of 1.5 billion with endless batting supplies unlike fast bowlers who need to be preserved and not ground into dirt by obese rohit.

It's Bumrah and Shami who are the true heroes of our team. 2 players whom youngsters should look upto.

If India get knocked out of group stage, what would be the excuses/deflections of Indian fans?

Some possible excuses/deflections:

- CT is not important. We won BGT in year 2021.
- We don't have Bumrah available.
- Dog ate our homeworks.
- Dubai is a boring venue and it made our players sleepy.
- Kohli and Rohit were selected.
- How many did Bangladesh/Pakistan/[insert another team] win?

:qdkcheeky

Bumrah is out of this tournament due to injury... Do you think India still has chance to win?????

Bumrah is a huge loss but given that the tournament is in Asia the spin resources will somewhat make up that gap, at least to a certain extent- the slow Dubai pitches will help.

Because all other teams have awful squads either because of injuries or because of poor selection

I think only NZ has the team to match India, otherwise I can see India going unbeaten, unless they suffer a huge dip in form mid-way through the tournament.

They literally have all bases covered unlike other teams.

Overwhelming favorites for these conditions.

Not even close lol. Rohit's captaincy is one of the worst

Pakistani YouTubers ne hume khambe pe chadha diya hae. There goes another ICC tournament.

Pakistani YouTubers jinxing ability is unmatched

I have little confidence that we will win the Champions Trophy. The first reason is Virat Kohli’s terrible form—these days, he has become an easy target for any mediocre leg-spinner.

Second, KL Rahul, who seems to be more of a "son-in-law" than a player in Team India, struggles with proper wicket-keeping and crumbles under pressure at crucial moments. I haven’t seen a single innings where he came in at No. 5 and took India across the finish line.

Third, our fielding is a major concern. We were up against Bangladesh, a weaker team that tends to offer multiple chances to bounce back even after mistakes like dropping catches. However, if we make similar errors against Pakistan or New Zealand, Rohit Sharma will be left completely helpless.

Fourth, we have included five spinners in the squad but lack a right-arm leg-spinner, which is crucial. Kuldeep Yadav, in particular, is not well-suited for Dubai’s pitch conditions, so relying on him might backfire. Additionally, we don’t have a specialist death-over pace bowler, which could be a big disadvantage.

Last but most important is the toss. Winning the toss on these pitches is crucial, yet Team India has lost the toss in its last 11 matches. If this losing streak continues, even reaching the final will be extremely difficult.

Pat Cummins, while speaking to a media outlet:

"I think it's good that the tournament can go on, but obviously it does give them (India) a huge advantage playing on the same ground."

"They already look very strong and they've got that obvious benefit of playing all their games there [Dubai]."

We are not going to win this tournament with this team, we'll be knocked out in semis. NZ/AUS teams looks formidable and lot better than us.
Bumrah is a big miss, Shami can't deliver this time, he's done. And our middle-order batting is a concern.

The imbeciles at the PCB took a tournament they were due to host, gift wrapped it and handed it over to India.

Instead of 20k fans supporting the Kiwis against the Indians in Lahore, it will be 40k Indians supporting their own team on a ground where they would have played two games on already. Then the semi also on the same ground with a full Indian crowd.
If they make the final then that too will be on a ground that will have a full Indian crowd and where Indians would have already played 5 games....

Home advantage is all India's... Well done BCCI!

Yes that's why pakistan also surrendered against NZ at home because pakistan fans were supported the NZ team

Excuse me?
Last time I checked there were 6 other teams other then Pakistan and India...
Pakistan are rubbish, of this there is no doubt but you can't seriously claim that India haven't been given a massive advantage by playing all their games on one ground with tens of thousands of supporters behind them?

Rahul is the biggest burden on the team who seldom does anything under pressure.
He hasn't had much of a chance TBH. I think he has been excellent behind the stumps.
Supported Gill very well in the BD match as well. What else do you want him to do?

So wait.

Pakistan is losing at home despite all the support because the team is rubbish. Ok.

And India is winning in Dubai because of the 'massive advantage' due to crowd support.

So basically that means that team be damned, it is the Indian crowds that are winning matches.

:salute

Seems like Pakistan and logic can't appear on the same sentence, other than on this one. :salute

Oh, yeah, wait for Australia!:qdkcheeky

And are you able to think? What you wrote makes as much sense as a square wheel!

Please think before you post. 'Home advantage' LOL.

You won't get any apology from me. And I know you'll go mama-mama ing to the mods.

He will choke and become a mental midget in the KOs. Story of his career. First sign of pressure and he crumbles. IPL crucial games, Ind crucial games etc

correct
I have already reported your earlier post and will report this one too.
You're a troll is this the way you reply to posts... Not everything is about India vs Pakistan or Indian Nationalism.

If anything I am giving credit to India/BCCI for pulling a masterclass over Pakistan, whether intentional or not.

the fact remains that India will have played every game in Dubai, the other teams will not have.
The fact is that this is supposed to be a Pakistan Hosted Tournament, yet it's like India playing at home.
The final point is that if India do make the final, it won't even be played in the Hosts country which is a huge slap on the face of the PCB.

These are indisputable... have some self respect and get behind your team

For me this is the weakest Ind team in a long while. The fielders are overweight with big bellies, the bowling has no pace and the batting is old. The fact that others don't care( Australia) or weak themselves like England will probably mean that they will win.

Nasser Hussain explains why India have ‘home advantage’ at Champions Trophy

Former England captain Nasser Hussain says that India have the ‘home advantage’ in the Champions Trophy due to playing all the matches at a neutral venue in Dubai.

Ahead of the tournament, India refused to play in Pakistan due to the historically complicated tensions between the two nations, and a two-country hosting solution was reluctantly agreed on. India are now playing all of their games in the United Arab Emirates, including the final if they get there.

Rohit Sharma’s side have won their opening two matches in the competition comfortably, beating first Bangladesh and then Pakistan by six wickets to ensure their place in the semi-finals.

Michael Atherton, another former England captain, joined Hussain on the Sky Sports Cricket Podcast and the pair discussed the benefits for India of playing at the same venue.

Atherton posed the question: “What about the advantage India have in playing in Dubai, only in Dubai? Which seems to me to be a hard-to-quantify advantage, but an undeniable advantage.”

“It is an advantage. So, the best team in the tournament have that advantage. And I saw a tweet the other day saying ‘Pakistan host nation, India home advantage.’ It sums it up really,” replied Hussain.

He added: “They are at one place, one hotel, they don’t have to travel. They have one dressing room. They know the pitch, they have picked for that pitch.

“They were very smart in their selection. They probably knew what Dubai is going to be like. They picked all their spinners, there was a bit of debate with Indian media saying why haven’t you gone for an extra seamer? Why all these spinners? Now we can seen why.”

Hussain then explained how different the tournament is for the other teams who have to travel to different venues for each game.

He said: “For example the other sides like England if they do get to the semis they have only one spinner [this is no longer true as leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed has been added as a late replacement for seamer Brydon Carse], Pakistan have one frontline spinner. You can says that when the injuries came they should have change that and I have made that argument.

“Other teams will have to pick playing XIs for different conditions in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Dubai and then they have to travel and adjust to those conditions.

“So it is an advantage but what else could have happened? Once India refused to come to Pakistan, what could have happen. You can’t have a tournament like this without India-Pakistan. It had to be in Dubai.

“They sit happily and comfortably there. They know they are going to play six games there and if they will win all those, they will win another global tournament.”

'Don't Be Complacement, Focus On Big Matches': BCCI Secretary On India's Dominant Start In Champions Trophy

Devakit Saikia, the secretary for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) called for the Indian cricket team to not get complacent and focus on the big games coming up in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025.

The Indian team won both their group-stage games, beating Bangladesh and Pakistan by six wickets respectively. New Zealand’s win over Bangladesh also meant that India secured their spot in the semi-final as well.

The BCCI Secretary, despite hailing the collective performances from the India stars, warned that now was not the time to put the foot off the accelerator. Now the Indian team have their final group-stage game against New Zealand followed by the knockout games where everything is on the line.

“We don’t need to be complacent… should focus on the big matches ahead (semi-final and final). The entire team is performing well, Rohit (Sharma) is scoring, Virat (Kohli) smashed a brilliant ton and Hardik Pandya bowled really well. So, we’re very happy with the win over Pakistan," Saikia told IANS.

70 per cent of the crowd present in the stadium (in Dubai) was supporting Team India and the atmosphere was electrifying. Everybody is so proud of the team," he added.

Virat Kohli stole the show against their arch-rivals where he scored a sensational century in Dubai to lead India to victory. He got to his milestone with his signature cover drive, which was also the winning run as well.

For Pakistan, the situation is not ideal as the designated hosts have now crashed out of the tournament with their last group-stage fixture left to be played. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side will now play Bangladesh in a dead-rubber contest.

In Group B, the game is open for all four sides to come through. But the ongoing game between Australia and South Africa is yet to start with rain interrupting the start of play. A washout could see both Afghanistan and England revive their hopes of securing a spot in the semi-final. South Africa and Australia are the two teams that have a win under their belt and both teams will hope to have get on the field to ensure that they seal their chances of going through.

But it was alright when India played its group games in USA, in three different cities and then went to WI to play the knockouts.

All other test teams played knockout and Group games in WI.

India is for milking money only?

The whining Englishmen, still can't stomach the fact that India has taken over world Cricket.

India played all over the cities in wc 23.what exactly pak did with same city advantage. They lost both in chennai.
English commies were crying about t20 semis and now about the venue. They are behaving like few ppers.

3 choker in SF (including India) and a second tier team.

Good news India is slightly better than other 2 chokers so far.

Well, its their good luck.

Even though I hope Saffers win the CT, cant see anyone beating India.

India has to win the champions trophy for there to be another champions trophy
No there won't be any regardless. When it was originally created top 8 teams were more less equally competitive. Nowadays top 4 are significantly better than bottom 4. So no point in having this farce anymore

I disagree. Any team can beat any team in the top 8 these days. Don’t get fooled by Pakistan’s temporary loss of form.

That is what world cup is for. We can test the "ANy team can beat any team" theory. In a knock out tournament in current situation there are certain teams will always lose.

We beaten East and West Pakistan, don't care if we don't win CT...

Boyz tamed the cornered Tigers and imitation Dhaka 2 taka tigers...that is plenty.

Boyz played well :inzi

Today is the real test for team india. Man to man on paper, India has more match winners and skill. Australia are more tactically stronger

multi nation international tournaments are like gold dust these days. I still don’t quite understand why would someone oppose the idea.

This joke of a tournament needs to be shelved. No one takes it seriously, likes of Starc didn't even bother to show up.

98% of world’s best are here. And you are worried about one little Starc.

No Knockout tournament was for only top teams. Bangladesh has no business to be part of CT regardless of what they did. THey are not winning a tournament ever. Not even Asia cup.
