First of all, this is a neutral and a personal observation after following the latest conflict/escalation in the news and interactions with friends and family members who are in both countries. I am not biased to either of the countries and had plenty of grievances against both due to just complex and messy history.

India had legitimate reasons to be enraged after the attack on their troops. As any other country would be. I won't go into conspiracies if it was staged to get votes before the upcoming election. But their actions after that tragic attack was nothing but foolish.

On the other hand, Imran Khan and Pakistan handled the situation really well. They seemed really mature about this. I have deep rooted historical bias against Pak Army but I have to say that they were the calm headed ones in this case. Situation could have easily went out of control if Pak acted in the same venomous patriotic manner like India. The treatment.

The less I say about the Indian media the better. They have been fanning hatred and building up the anti Pak sentiment throughout this conflict. I haven't the same vitriol from the Pak media. Indian people by and large are much better than this. I know plenty of Indians and on a personal level they are very kind and reasonable. So I am not sure why media projects such radical stance. Even the liberal ones.

Finally, the reactions from so called celebrities and cricketers have also been poor. Sometimes it feels forced too where they had to express their anger to display their patriotism.

I am glad de-escalation was the final course of action.

To the eyes of many, Imran Khan and Pakistan seem to be the winner. Only on perception. But in the end it does nothing to the plight of Kashmiris who will remain as the perennial victims.

Good post and some very good observations... a sort of post which should be discussed here in depth.

Let me speak with your logic:

- You believe that the Pulwama attack was not staged, which ppl like me partly believe.

- You believe, Indians have every right to be upset.

- However, you believe the way Indians acted was foolish.

Ok so How do Indians in general deal with issues like this ?

- Modi made a gesture of Friendship with Pakistan by coming to Pakistan, then Indian soon received a Pathankot attack as gift.

- Now the Pulwama attack which so far has been the worst of terrorists attack in Indian soil.

Please elaborate how Indians should deal with this, since the attack was not staged from your perspective.

They should try for a diplomatic solution, engaging UN and other countries to put pressure on Pakistan’s support of the Kashmiri freedom struggle.

Thanks for your reply. What you said has previously been done countless times to zero impact, however my question was directed to the OP only....

Cant detect sarcasm, can ya?

There is no solution to this unless the Kaahmiris gets their due right of deciding which nation they are a part of. You guys dont want to do it, then continue whining about these issues. Unless they discover a huge oil or some other natural resource there, the internation community is going to stay hands off on kashmir.. and it will remain a Pakistan-india dance!
