ISLAMABAD: On Friday, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, said that the British court has ordered Reham Khan to pay damages and tender apology for false allegations against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s former Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari.

Furthermore, Fawad Chaudhry said that the attempts to bring such a legal system in Pakistan has always been criticised by media owners, who started campaigns, claiming it would be against the right to freedom of expression.

He said, the court order proved Reham Khan was a liar; actually it was a manifestation of the fact that she was a habitual liar.

In December 2019, Reham had accused Zulfi Bukhari of becoming part of a “corrupt plan with the prime minister to sell or acquire the Roosevelt Hotel in New York at lesser value for his benefit.”

However, soon after the accusation Bukhari sued Rehman in the London High Court.

According to reports, Zulfi Bukhari has won his defamation case against Reham Khan in a London court. Imran Khan’s former wife has to issue an unconditional apology in Urdu and English and pay £50,000 in damages and Bukhari’s legal costs.

Reham has agreed to “apologise and pay damages ahead of a full defamation trial in the case, following a determination at the same court in June this year when a judge found that the words uttered by her against Bukhari comprised chase level-1 defamation — the highest form of defamation which could be proven through facts only.” Moreover, she has also pinned her apology from her Twitter account.

UK courts exposing this sorry excuse of a journalist.

So which one of the following is in danger right now

1. Civil liberty (The right to free speech)
2. Civilian rule
3. Democracy
4. Free Journalism
5. Rule of law & Judiciary
6. All of the above and some more

Also, how much do we think the eye s eye paid the British judge to incriminate this award-winning journalist for this uncalled and unjust judgment?

This woman has made herself a laughing stock due her vengeance against Khan. IK really carried himself gracefully through this divorce and never uttered a word against her while she kept spitting fire. She totally deserves this humiliation.

Can we have a biopic on Reham Khan, similar to that movie called ‘Fashion’ or ‘Heroine’.

It will be a blockbuster!

People from some corners of Pakistan would have loved to have her as the first lady of Pakistan, she possesses all of the qualities that PML-N supporters tend to overlook.

Never has anyone fallen so much so quickly. IK divorced her and it wasn't an amicable split but she should have moved on with her life. IK didn't take her best days, she was already a divorcee, and with dignity she would have found someone else, instead she put her lot in with a mafia in a misguided attempt at vengeance and has been humiliated in the process.

She desperately wanted to be the first lady of Pakistan.

How come she hasn't lost the previous defamation cases against her i.e. Wasim Akram, Hamza Ali Abbassi, Mubashar Luqman, Jahangir Tareen?

She desperately wanted to be the first lady of Pakistan.

Maybe, but her badniyaati was rumbled and she felt humiliated. Many think she was a spy, who knows? But she has destroyed her life with a desperation for vengeance and today no guy with an ounce of izzat would touch her.

Reham Khan, the ex-wife of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, narrowly escaped a gun attack in Islamabad late Sunday night, Samaa TV reported.

In a tweet, she revealed that on the way back home from her nephew's wedding, her car was shot at and two men on a motorcycle held the vehicle at gunpoint.

"I had just changed vehicles. My personal secretary and driver were in the car," the former television presenter said and demanded that the "so-called government should be held accountable for it (the attack)".

Reham, in multiple updates on her Twitter handle, complained that she and her staff had to wait for hours to get an FIR registered, the report said.

"It's 9 am. My PS (personal secretary) and team have not had a minute of sleep and the FIR still has not been registered in Shams Colony Police Station Islamabad. (The) investigation is ongoing," she tweeted Monday morning.

At 10 a.m., Reham shared a copy of her complaint filed at the police station. It states that they were on the Rawalpindi-Islamabad highway near the IJP Road when two men tried to stop them at gunpoint. The suspects were between the ages of 25 and 30.

She added that they are now waiting for the FIR.

Why would the govt want to try to kill her, she's doing a great job of destroying her own credibility, losing defamation cases in the UK and generally carrying on with no regard for what she says. Making her a martyr would damage Imran's govt immensely, it makes no sense for them to be behind this.

It may just have been two youths looking to score from guests at a lavish wedding. They need to be apprehended, but pointless jumping to conclusions as to their motives until we know more.

Before she went I had feeling that she would pull a stunt like this or one of the groups that hate IK. It would have made sense to give her security

Reham is desperately trying to remain relevant. People are no longer interested in her anymore. She is yesterday's news.

Looks a set up.

Pakistan should ban her from entering the nation. She is a British citizen I believe??
