According to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) report, it has been revealed that the board officials have wasted millions of rupees on international tours, with chairman Shahryar Khan alone spending Rs. 5.5 million on 14 tours.

After the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination asked the PCB to submit the details of its officials’ foreign tours, the cricket body, in its report, stated that Shahryar undertook 14 tours between October 2014 and July 2016 on account of International Cricket Council (ICC) meetings and various trips to India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE and England.

According to the Express Tribune, approximately Rs. 3.5 million was spent on accommodation and daily allowance, while another Rs. 2 million was incurred as travel expenses.

The report also states that the PCB Executive Committee chairman, Najam Sethi, went on 19 tours between November 2014 and June 2016, with most of his travels being to Dubai, twice to India and once to Qatar.

Like the PCB chairman, Sethi also attended ICC meetings, but a majority of his travels were also for Pakistan Super League (PSL)-related activities, negotiations with India over the bilateral series and procurement of bulletproof buses.

It is estimated that Rs. 6.8 million were spend during Sethi’s tours, including Rs. 3.3 million on accommodation and daily allowance and Rs. 3.5 million on travel expenses.

The report further states that these figures neither include air tickets and lodgings provided by the ICC and other boards, nor the travel expenditure incurred by Sethi between 2013 and 2014 as the PCB chairman, when he went on eight international tours -- five to UAE, two to Bangladesh and one to England.

During his term as the PCB chief, Sethi also attended ICC and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meetings -- the airfare was covered by the hosts, but the accommodation, daily allowance and other travel expenditure were drawn from the PCB coffers, an amount of Rs 3.3 million.

The report further states that between January 2013 and March 2014, former cricket board chairman Zaka Ashraf toured India, UAE, England, South Africa and Singapore seven times, with the vast majority of these tours being for ICC-related duties.

It is stated that Ashraf received approximately Rs. 1.5 million as accommodation and daily allowance, whereas the reimbursement of his travel expenses summed up to Rs. 1.7 million.

A grand total of Rs. 12.1 million was spent on foreign tours of this trio, during their tenures as the PCB chairman.

However, these figures come nowhere in comparison to Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmed’s foreign trips, who made 32 tours between January 2013 and July 2016, costing almost Rs. 8.8 million.

I think we already figured that out. Then again HT needs a punching bag for their readers...

What's the big deal here. Just look at SK's figures that's about 3,700 dollars per trip. Doesn't sound like a lot to me

These figures are way beyond my expectation, there are lot bigger corruptions than this tours fiasco, these tour expenses are "aatay me namak" to those.

I actually spend more on travel than that each year.

What's the big deal?

If this is true......

THIS IS FREAKING FANTASTIC :14:

Can I get in touch with PCB on where they book their flights and other itinerary?

Make hay while the sun shines.

And these people plead poverty to the ICC.

Well you cant expect these guys do travel on economy class and book rooms ina cheap hotel. Plus all the travel expenses and food.

Some jobs also have their perks so why not use them?

If posters here are given insurance or free dental plans would they be a fool not to use them?

PCB is a big department not some lullo organisation. It obviously has high costs to operate, plus these guys are the higher posts with some being affiliated with th acc

The author of the article is naive.

Now a govt official who gets posted in the pakistani high commission in new delhi is entitled to free fare and hotel when conducting and travelling on highcommissions mission. A petrol budget, medicine budget, a renting budget which is upto 2 lakhs per month, house and fixtures budget, even a dinner hosting budget is given, a percentage of children school fees etc.

Now some fool could come and write up a report of how much money is being used by each official, but its not illegal. Those guys are entitled to such money due to their service and seniority and the mission they are conducting. Plus you have to look after the respect and dignity of each official as tehy are representing a country cant give them a cheap hotel.

Its only wrong if you are doing something illegal and corruption.

When Domestic cricket is of an appalling standard because of little investment as the money is stolen by these cretins and then they plead poverty. Why do they need to go abroad with the team, does the team benefit? No, it's a jolly for the connected.

1)No money is stolen
2) read and analyse the whole article. Do you really think officials only go on tours? Or do they go to attend icc meetings, because we dont have tours in Singapore but we did had some icc mission last couple of months.
3) these guys dont have time to go on tours, most of the time its for official reason.
4) vacation time is entitled to these guys.

PCB officials arnt some mohalla politcal office, its amongest the top organisations of pakistan. Its senior members are to be respected with dignity and respect as they represent Pakistan, plus all jobs have to give its employees some benefits.

If these benefits and good salaries arnt given, no fool would apply for pcb jobs and the workers wont be efficient.

I think posters here need to stop looking at pcb some small organisation, its a proper organisation which needs to give good benefits and salaries to his senior employees

Either please provide proof for corruption or dont make such allegations.

Senior officials of a company or organisation are entitled to some benefits

Even if there is corruption, audits are done on every organisation, so if you think corruption is happening you should first grab the collars of the audit officers

90% of their travel is unnecessary , just to have fun and vacation on Sarkari Maal.

You think guys like sheryar have soo much free time to travel to have fun?
