[REPORT] Sania Mirza subjected to eve-teasing by Bangladesh cricketer, claims Shoaib Malik

LAHORE – India’s tennis star Sania Mirza was subjected to eve-teasing by Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman, claims her husband and star Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik.

Shoaib Malik had come to Bangladesh four years back along with his wife to participate in a domestic tournament in Dhaka and the incident occurred that time. Sabbir teased the tennis star Sania Mirza in the field who came to Bangladesh to spend time with her husband.

According to a report in Bangladeshi media, Malik wrote an official complaint to the chairman of Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM).

Sabbir Rahman, 26, has been one of the most controversial Bangladeshi players in recent times for his off-field behaviours.

The batsman might face a six-month ban for his alleged involvement in the Facebook controversy. He was also fined by the board during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for bringing a woman into the team hotel without any permission from the authority.

The right-hander has already lost his central contract and served a six-month domestic ban for assaulting a fan in the recent past. He has also been axed from the national team due to his lack of form and other controversies and will not feature in the Asia Cup next month.

eve teasing is sexual harassment, suggest you don't use euphemisms to cover this cultural practice. teasing is what we do to each other on time pass.

This actually happened during a match in the Dhaka Premier League a few years back even before Shabbir made his debut for Bangladesh. Sania Mirza was not actually there. Shabbir made some inappropriate comments about Mirza while Malik was batting. Mahmudullah who was at the crease with Malik almost came to blows with Shabbir over the incident.

I guess Shabbir's whole case history is being opened. He has a history of severe indiscipline from beating up a minor fan to slapping Mehedy Hasan Miraz after an argument. So much attitude for such a mediocre cricketer.

That's a different case. He beat a 10/12 years boy during a league match. That boy mimicked 'miao' like a cat to mock shabbir when he was close to the boundary line. Later shabbir captured him with the help of his other thug friends and physically abused him during the match.

This loser should be behind the bar for beating an adolescent boy. But all thx to our spineless BCB this loser is still representing my country.
