I don't think Hafeez needs to retire but Mickey hasn't done much wrong for Pakistan in ODIs so I trust his judgement. The only way Hafeez makes it into the team is if he can contribute with the ball and with his action issues we are never guaranteed.

The other thing is that a lot of senior players in the Pakistani circuit would be seriously offended if they were a part of a squad but were not given playing time, which is really unfortunate as sometimes it is helpful to take an experienced player with you even if they won't make the starting line-up in the event you may need him (not talking about Hafeez specifically). I think this factor alone forces the decision on the coach on a YES or NO stance about senior players. This probably applies to other countries as well.

819 runs, 1 not out, high score 92, sr 58.4, 0 100, 4 fifies, 6 ducks, average 19

Yes that's right, an average of 19 and strike rate at 58.4 , but he was still allowed to keep his place in the team to play another 150 odd ODI matches <---- and now he is claiming to be victim of injustice..

Players like Asim Kamal and Fawad Alam could have achieved so much more as batsmen if given half as many chances to establish themselves as this megastar was given.
