Has to be the first decade with no Pakistani bowler nominated, really speaks volumes about the effect of that 2010 ban on our cricket. I reckon both Amir and Asif would have been nominated here.

Also interestingly only one spinner. Speaks about the decline of spinners in this batting friendly era, I reckon. Poor guys have to bowl with the new ball (8 overs old often) and no doosra for off spinners either.

Pathetic list again from ICC

No Williamson, Babar, Shakib and Malinga?

Also, what the hell are Hope, Stokes, Misbah, Rabada, Mustafizur and Woakes doing on here?

I can’t see Saeed Ajmal in the list. Anyway if he was picked it is poor by the ICC. He was banned for chucking and was not international class when he returned with a clean action.

There are huge question marks over his credibility as a bowler, but there is no doubt he was a brilliant chucker in LOIs.

Babar deserves to be nominated more than Misbah. Misbah had 0 ODI hundreds and was among the slowest batsmen of his time.

The easiest call is Kohli as ODI batsman of the decade. His dominance is out of this world. 10k runs when no one else crossed 6.5k.

People can talk nonsense about failures in tournament knockouts but it means nothing. He still miles ahead of everyone else.

Best bowler should be Starc. Most wickets and also dominated two World Cups. Also, I cannot believe Boult was not nominated. Ridiculous.

WK category is the toughest. I would personally go for Buttler.

Best all-rounder is also tough because Stokes is not as dominant in this format as he is in Tests. Still, I would pick him for his heroics in the 2019 World Cup where he was the true MVP of the winning team.

Hafeez would have a genuine shot in my view if he wasn’t banned a thousand times for chucking.

Anyways, this would be my XI:
Rohit, Warner, Smith, De Villiers, Dhoni*+, Mathews, Jadeja, Starc, Steyn, Shami, Tahir

I noticed Warner is not on the list...umm who made this?!?

Asif was not a particularly good ODI bowler even back then. Aamir possibly , yes.

He was not a top-class by any stretch of the imagination in the ODI format. He was not ranked even in the top 15 at any time in his career.

ODI XI of the decade:-

Rohit
Amla
Kohli
AB
Morgan(c)
Buttler(wkt)
Jadeja
Starc
Steyn
Shami
Tahir

No williamson , faf du plessis , david warner , hope and misbah over babar ,no shakib al hasan , no boult. Why are tamim and paul stirling there.

But most importantly shohaib malik be like: "I should have been informed and given a reason for why i was not there."

Kohli is the only player who has been nominated for all major awards,

The Test cricketer of the decade.
The ODI cricketer of the decade.
The T20I cricketer of the decade.
The cricketer of the decade.

No one else has as dominating performance in all formats for the entire decade and I will be surprised to see anyone else getting the cricketer of the decade.

Decent squad.

They might have Dhoni over Buttler due to the difference in averages.

I think they messed up by not including Warner as an option cause I'd take him over Amla any day of the week.

Just goes to show you how rough this last decade has been for Pakistan barring the Championship Trophy miracle.

At least there is plenty of youngster coming up who seem to be very talented and hopefully the next decade will provide a much better outlook for Pakistan.

1. Warner
2. Rohit
3. Kohli
4. AB de Villiers
5. Ross Taylor
6. Dhoni (c)
7. Stokes
8. Starc
9. Steyn
10. Bumrah
11. Steyn

I'd go with Shami if I can't choose Bumrah. Once Bumrah emerged, India relied on him far more than Shami, maybe Bumrah hasn't played enough matches. Dhawan if I can't choose Warner. Actually no clue why Warner wasn't picked. Babar should be nominated too, even with less matches he has similar amount of runs to some on the list but wouldn't pick him in the actual XI anyway.

Surprised how many are picking Buttler over Dhoni. Sure Buttler is better right now, but over the decade it's Dhoni no comparison. Better batsman, wicketkeeper, finisher and best captain in the decade. Even if you debate Buttler is a better batsman with a higher SR, Dhoni's overall contribution pushes him ahead.

I can see two Steyns. Drop one and add Tahir.

Don’t understand this at all. Misbah makes the side after doing tuk tuk in Odis between 2010-2015 playing for himself with his 40-50 odd runs with a strike rate of 70. He completely changed the way the younger guys played and told them to be defensive rather than playing attacking cricket. His seniors first approach has already cost the team enough which is why we’re still lacking in the batting department with only Babar Azam averaging 50 + with a strike rate around 90. Misbah didn’t just tell them to play dots, now as coach he’s completely brainwashed them into thinking if they wanted to survive in the team they’d have to play his way rather than according to the situation.

Babar deserved to be in this category. He played the same amount as Misbah in this decade 2015-2020 and performed much better and has some great match winning contributions. Averaging 55 in Odis isn’t a small thing and let’s not forget in the 2019 World Cup he was the highest run scorer for Pakistan ever in any edition which speaks volumes about what he’s capable of. Pathetic from the ICC and still can’t believe the PCB putting someone like Misbah in-charge of the whole cricket set up despite conflicts of interest.

Apologies - that pic was missed - have added now

Shakib has to be absolutely nominated. He has been at the top of the all rounders rankings for a while now, and I would personally call him the greatest ODI all rounder of the last decade.

Boult being absent from the list is a big surprise as well. Apart from Starc, and maybe Rabada to an extent, he has been the best ODI bowler in the 2010s. Rashid Khan has been great for Afghanistan, but him being nominated ahead of Boult is a joke, keeping in mind the kind of teams Rashid faced throughout his career.

Williamson and Babar deserve to be on the list over Misbah and Hope, both of them being on another level compared to the two who somehow made the list.

A lot of people moaning about Misbah being in the list . No doubt Babar is a class act but in the period that he played Misbah was the backbone of our ODI line up and very consistent.

He averages 50 plus in 2011 World Cup , 2013 Champions trophy and in his Swan song in the 2015 World Cup .

His SR should have been higher agreed but in the era where 230 was seen as a decent score if the batting around him was more consistent then his SR could have increased.

He did not play for him self and one such example is his 2013 champions trophy Knock against West Indies which I witnessed live . He turned down about 15 singles and ended up on 96 not out batting with Irfan for the last wicket. He could have easily milked a 100.

Whether people like it or not facts don’t lie and he was our best Odi batsman for 4-5 years and our best performer in ICC events . He had his limitations but he did the best he could .

Ajmal proper legend. Seemed to be hard done by ICC changing rules

If you take chucking out of it (for some that may be a big if) Ajmal was game after game an awesome bowler and in my opinion the best bowler in the world at the time.

Agree with a lot of what you said but he did not play in an era where 230 was a decent score.

Out of the three maybe only Misbah makes the cut but that too is a stretch

Whilst still a good odi bowler, I feel Steyn is slightly over rated in Odis

Ajmal makes the team. Can’t penalize his performances before the ban just because of the ban.

I honestly don't know what ICC is on.

Among some good selections, some make me want to scratch my eyes out with a fork.

How does Shai Hope merit a spot ahead of Warner?

Compared to the other bowlers, Mortaza looks awful.

Jadeja as an all-rounder is also a confusing decision.

Babar's exclusion was also quite confusing. Almost the same number of games as Shai Hope with a much superior strike rate and a healthier average.

ICC is morally bankrupt , they included two chukers from Pakistan and third one who was never an ODI player hence was called tuk-tuk.
