Samurai Jack (2017) - The Final Season

I was a huge fan of the original series and after 12 years they have finally released the ultimate finale, it has been set 50 years after the events of Season 4 and one of the side-effects of Time Travel with regards to Jack is that he does not age.

However, psychologically Samurai Jack is on the absolute brink; he suffers from PTSD, often hallucinates, and his spirit is broken because all hope is lost in his own words.

The original cast returns in terms of the lead, director, producers and writers. The rating for the show is TV-14 (which means there is blood and intense violence) and while the original was edgy in its own right the latest season is even darker, has been produced for the TV channel Adul Swim; all the episodes have been released now.

They also released it in mind with the fact that a lot of their original fans would be a lot older now.

The latest season is absolutely incredible! it retains the originals authenticity but the animation, action and camera angles/shots are better. The season 5 premise also makes for an incredible emotionally driven narrative.

Have watched the first 4 episodes of the latest season thus far.

This is an epic show. Brings buckets of nostalgia

YES, Finally, others who appreciate this epic work of art. Underrated show.

I absolutely loved the mini-series, my only qualm with it was how they centralized the episodes after epiosde 5 on the Ashi-Jack love story, when they could've made it about Jack's rematch with The Guardian (the blue dude who acts like a black guy), I was so hyped to see that fight but at the end we learn that Aku just *SPOILER* killed him.

Also I wanted to see a huge fight between Aku and Jack. No outside assistance, just an all out death match between Jack and Aku. Wanted Jacko to take out all the frustration of 5 seasons in the making in an epic fight sequence.

But I am all for sad endings, I like it when the protagonist doesn't get it all at the end of a show, keeps it real.

But yeah, am just happy I'm not one of the few who watched it. What did you guys think of the latter half of the season? Most reviews I've read say that it was on point for first 5 episodes but last few were too romantic.

I loved it overall, appreciate the closure.
