He is one lucky to have good team players as well who are responding to him at the right time.

Bowling changes, shuffling the batting order and field placings were also because of luck?

Others doing the same as well I guess!Bowling changes, shuffling the batting order and field placings were also because of luck?
How he controls the field, bowling changes etc. from behind the stumps is very impressive.
Microphone catches it most of the times.
Simply brilliant. Like I've been saying, the best cricketing brain in PAK.
Can't say he's the best yet, but he's better certainly than our current LOI captains. Some people just won't admit that he's been the best in the PSL thus far.
Because some prefer English speaking tongue over cricketing Brian
What did you write?![]()
Small tactical moves, becoming only the 2nd captain in T20 history to chase 200.

I'm assuming you have an explanation for why Nawaz, bowling at 4.50, only got 2 overs but he let Anwar Ali bowl garbage for 4?

Wanted to challenge and entertain himself with a stiffer target...beating Lahore easily is getting boring in PSL....

damn thats a funny answerWanted to challenge and entertain himself with a stiffer target...beating Lahore easily is getting boring in PSL....
He wouldn't be my first thought as captaining material for Pakistan tbh, but seeing as how bad Azhar Ali's been I rather my Grandad be given a chance too.
And why not?? Getting sick and tired of some of the armchair fans. He is our best candidate other than Azhar. Malik shulik ko bhool jao...
I never said I didn't want him. I said anyone would be better than Azhar Ali.
Armchair![]()
You said he wouldn't be you're first thought. So who''s you're first thought..Amin? Malik? Lol..
Azhar let him off the hook.
because of dosti yari?
The brilliant tactician specifically requested forahead of Elliott, Nawaz and Nabi. Allrounder
didn't disappoint either with his might hacks and swings and misses.
Dhoni wishes he was Sarfraz.
To be fair, Dhoni's as tactically inept as Sarfraz.
You seem to be having an issue with me saying I didn't think of him first when thinking about the captaincy.
It doesn't mean I want Malik or Amin []
I'll have anyone but Azhar Ali, thanks.
Now chill.
I don't have a problem with your personally but I do have a problem with flippant statements e.g. he wouldn't be my first choice and so forth. If not Azhar then who??
Not sure over the long-term bit. He is around 30 years old and has the fitness of a 40 year old. Not to mention a mediocre Limited Overs batsman.
That's why keeping has been brilliant, and is the only one performing for PAK in LOIs apart from Hafeez/Babar?
Malik's averaging in 20s after ZIM tour, and he's 'performing'?![]()
Or Rizwan, Azhar Ali, Shafiq and lest not forget the imperious K Akmal, and yet Sarfraz is the one that gets slammed on here.
I said it before if we have a good replacement then fair enough, but seeing as don't...
The Malik brigade will be on here quick and sharp.
Oh noes![]()

Btw he's 28 years-old. He may not be the best runner between the wickets but does that constitute being unfit?
Also saying he's mediocre ODI player and then in the same time stating your like for Azhar Ali/Shafiq/Rizwan and K Akmal being in LOIs side[s ]rather negates your points.
Hardly surprising mind.
You can add couple of years to every Pakistani player if we're being honest. I highly doubt he was the captain of the U-19 team in 2006 at the age of 18. His fitness is not good though, he looks exhausted after 30 deliveries and his keeping is not good. Just look at his belly.
None of the players mentioned are options for captaincy, are they? The reason why I'm against sacking Azhar so soon is because chopping and changing captains/coaches has never yielded good results in Pakistan cricket and only catalyses instability and grouping.
We find ourselves in an unfortunate position where we don't have a player who is performing + has good captaincy credentials. Hafeez is one player who fits the ball but again, he is almost 35-36 now, and is thus not a long-term option.
Sacking Azhar and Waqar is not the answer to our Limited Overs woes, we simply don't have good enough cricketers.
We can make Babar Azam the captain like South Africa did with Graeme Smith at 23 years of age if he continues his good performances.
Babar or Haris, both are good candidates. The latter is of course subject to fitness.
In 2-3 years, Root will captain England, Smith, Kohli and Williamson will of course be captains of their respective teams as well and de Kock will probably captain SA.
We need a top drawer batsman in his mid to late 20's who captains the team and can match these batsman if we are to compete with such teams across all formats.
It is a shame that players like Umar, Maqsood, Shehzad etc. haven't exhibited enough ability and most importantly maturity to lead the team.
Honestly, giving him credit I have not - that was just brilliant today. No one could've thought that keeping Cheema till the end would be the right call, but wow.
He seems to be a bit lucky captain
Yeah...winning 7/9, how lucky can one be?
Brilliant innings under pressure.
ODI I would be ok but definitely not T20IThis guy needs to be captaining Pakistan LOI teams after T20 WC for sure!!
His own performance does not warrant him a place in playing 11 ... he is poor behind stumps .... and average with bat ... his some decisions as a captain are also questionable like giving cheema last over considering his first three oversYeah...winning 7/9, how lucky can one be?

Do not look at the outcome .... my question is why didn't he save Elliot overWhat on earth are you on about?
Cheema took 2 wickets and ended the match.![]()

My question is based on his first three overs performance .... Asia cup held 4 years backAre you actually deluded?
Cheema bowled brilliantly. He's very good at the death, in fact a specialist.
He defended 9 runs in the asia cup final 4 years ago and he's done it again...
