Speaking in an interview:

Sarfaraz was questioned about which player, among Shaheen Afridi, Shadab, and Mohammad Rizwan, possesses the potential to be appointed as all-format captain for Pakistan.

"Shadab Khan"

“The batting order at which he plays, he can adjust in the team, or if you play overseas or play Test cricket, you need to play with five bowlers. Among those five bowlers, your fifth bowler will be your all-rounder, who can bat and bowl both. Whether we talk about one-day cricket or T20 cricket, he [Shadab] can adjust himself in all three formats,"

What’s this fascination with ‘all format captain’?

Just pick the right one for the appropriate format.

Shadab cant play test as he last played first class many years ago and breaks down easily

Shadab is a terrible batter and we have much better spinners than him for red ball.

He doesn't even merit an all-format spot, let alone captaincy.

He shouldn’t even be in the team right now based on his recent performances.

shadab doesnt take his batting or bowling seriously.. he is not up there to prove he is the first name in the teamsheet yet to take the captaincy

Shahdab has been dodging Test cricket lately. Hasn't played a test in a long time. Although he can fill the allrounder slot, but it seems he doesn't wanna do the hard work.

Shadab isn't disciplined enough to be classified as an allrounder. His batting has potential but he is too careless with it.

It is a conflict of interest anyways to ask Sarfraz if Rizwan should be made all format captain. LoL

Clearly Sarfaraz is very bitter about it. Yet he's had several years to win his place back from Rizwan and didn't manage it except for a brief period in one format. Too little too late though.

He seems to be good friends with Shadab so bigging him up, maybe?

Shadab, an all format captain ???? I was not expecting this from Sarfraz , I thought he was a very good reader of the game. Unless Shadab promised him to brin back in the team , who knows .

He was asked to pick out of 3 useless options

He picked what he thought was the best one out of the 3 rubbish options

Shadab does not even deserves a place in test eleven and have not played any test since long.
Forget about captaincy.

Who cares what Sarfraz says. If Sethi's plots can fail against the mighty Babar, everthing will. Babar will also captain '27 WC. Mark my words.

indeed shadab is a very clever guy who has good game awareness as a captain which he has already shown in PSL, for sure he can be a better captain than Babar for Pakistan.

If we get Shadab as captain he's gonna bring himself in at 3 and bowler his full quota every match, never selecting another spinner for the XI, no thank you

Sarfraz is correct when comparing those three. Although not much a difference between them (all being mediocre leaders) Shadab does appear to be a bit more assertive when compared to the docile Babar and Rizwan and the over reliant on his foreign signings Shaheen.

Shadab looked to be a decent captain during the PSL with his team Islamabad United but he must raise his own performance before he should be appointed captain of the national team. At the moment he isn't bowling great and it is certainly not the time to consider him for the captaincy.

Not a fan of a bowler being captain, but I wish Afridi all the best and hope he can do good things as a captain of Pakistan
