For Riz to be successful he must-
- win games
- score heavily
To win games, he must get Babar back in form( looks to be difficult at this stage). He must also get the bowlers to get their mojo back because on flat wickets they lack the pace and wicket taking ability on a consistent basis. IA he is successful, if he isn't then onto the next guy

Not particularly. I think WK, batting and captaining is too much. The problem is the lack of options- with SSA and Babar out of the reckoning, and FZ being sidelined, who is guaranteed to play?

Riz is still an excellent WK and better than any other WK batsman in PK. He needs to focus on that. Saddened that it did work out.

There is no doubt he is a very good keeper and possibly the best WK batsman in Pak. But he is not good enough to bat in top 4. He does not have the range of shots to keep the scoreboard ticking or accelerate when needed. His shots are very limited and completely bottom handed shots. Players like him can easily be tied down by bowling to basic plan. Bowl him with decent pace outside off and he may work it for a single once in a while. Bowl him a left arm spinner or a leg spinner he will struggle to work them for singles unless he can land some sweep shots. Good international teams will work him out. He has enough doggedness to score some runs but none of that will matter in the modern game where fast scoring all around the wicket is the norm. He probably should stick to tests and vacate white ball team position to someone who can play dynamically

His captaincy was also very uninspiring. He looks lost and out of ideas most of the time. I don't think the bowlers trust him to set the right fields for them. He is not a good captain

For example had i been a rizwan supporter I could have easily countered by claiming that fakhar + Saim were injured so it doesn't count.

Before the tournament i was really upset that Saim got injured as I was looking forward to watching him bat in CT, then i was further upset when fakhar got injured but in hindsight I'm glad it happened.

Not because I wish injury upon these talents, may Allah give them a swift and healthy recovery, but because it exposed how rubbish Pakistan truly is without these 2.

No fakhar and saim hand holding for once and look how badly no 1 ranked wicket keeper batter and Mr no 2 ranked odi batsmen got exposed.

I have talked about facts, Sharjeel Khan Asif Ali etc are never consistent players if Babar and Rizwan have deficiencies then Sharjeel etc also with their limitations.

Fair enough Rizwan and Babar failed , sack them but to do of other 6/7 out of 9 players they were also not upto task, and definitely Asif Ali is not the solution
