Pakistan's red-ball coach, Jason Gillespie, speaking during commentary at the Champions One-Day Cup:

"Sarfaraz has always been a wonderful servant leading the team very well, but we know Sarfaraz is not getting any younger and at some point, we are going to need to start exploring and offering opportunities to some other players."

“We don't want to make hasty decisions after one bad series. All these players are skilled; a few poor performances cannot take away their potential.”

One bad series for Sarfaraz! Did Sarfaraz deliver the drinks poorly? Bottle main fingers daal kay?

Lol I would pick that sarfraz guy for water boy's duty. He is good at that.

Loser of highest level. He should be kicked out forever.

Yes, he is the reason Pakistan losing one home series after another

Yes, he is the reason Pakistan losing one home series after another
He is one of the main reason Pakistan is in this position. He started this trend of losing home series. He is one of the worst player ever. He is equivalent to misbah the destroyer of Pakistan cricket.

He has 8 losses and only 4 wins in tests as captain.

There we have it.

Sarfaraz career is going nowhere now.

Upto him to decide what he wants to do.

Ahmed Shehzad, speaking on his YouTube channel, reacted to Jason Gillespie’s remarks about Sarfaraz Ahmed:

“Jason Gillespie, the red-ball coach, said about Sarfaraz Ahmed that ‘Sarfaraz is not getting younger anymore; we need to keep finding youngsters.’ He also mentioned that there can’t be too many changes in the Pakistan team because they have only lost one series so far, and potential players can’t just be ruled out after a single series,”

“Sarfaraz Ahmed has made significant contributions to Pakistan cricket, notably winning the 2017 Champions Trophy as captain. Despite criticisms of his leadership and decision-making, he has consistently played well. After a tough period when he was dropped due to declining performances, Babar Azam supported him and kept him connected with the team. However, Sarfaraz must now consider his career direction, especially as he’s not getting younger. Jason Gillespie raises a crucial point, but is there a capable replacement for him in the pipeline?"

“For now, Sarfaraz must now consider his career direction, especially as he’s not getting younger. The PCB needs to ensure there’s a solid backup ready to step up.”

Pakistan could play Sarfaraz against Bangladesh but they decided to keep him on the bench. If they have the same plan for him in the series against England then they should just pick a young wicket-keeper to spend the time with the national team and gain valuable experience.
