Babar reflects on his 100th intl match at home:
Alhamdulillah. I feel honored, and I recently realized that this is my 100th international match, here in my hometown in Pakistan. It’s a big achievement. I’ve had many good performances, and, of course, there have been ups and downs. Alhamdulillah, I’m thankful to Allah for giving me the ability to reach this stage and perform well.”
“I also feel that the role of my teammates has been very important — every player I’ve played with has contributed a lot. And especially the fans, they have always supported me, cheered me on, not just in Lahore but at every venue across Pakistan.”
“It’s difficult to pick just one match. For me, memorable innings include my Test innings in Karachi and performances in Lahore, but honestly, every innings has been special in its own way. Every venue has its own charm, and every match has memories attached to it.”
“When I first started as a ball-picker — if I’m not wrong, in 2007 — playing an international match against South Africa, I realized how much Pakistani fans love cricket and support their players. That support is very close to our hearts, and because of the fans, we are here today. Their support motivates us.”
“I always try to meet their expectations, to bring smiles to their faces through my performances. Honestly, I can’t pick one particular venue. Every stadium, every city, every match — I’ve received support everywhere, and I enjoy playing at every place. The crowd inside the stadium and even on social media outside makes every city very special to me.”
