Twitter users from both sides of the border, who were tweeting with this hashtag, agreed that a war is not the best solution.

Tensions between India and Pakistan entered day two with India claiming Pakistani jets violated air space in India, Pakistani claiming they have captured two Indian pilots and airports across northern India being shut down because of security concerns.

While many on Twitter continued to bay for blood and fuelled the fire of fake news, hundreds of Indian and Pakistani citizens called for peace, using the hashtag #SayNoToWar.

Twitter users from both sides of the border, who were tweeting with this hashtag, agreed that a war is not the best solution.

Here are some tweets calling for peace, when the world seems to be burning.

There is always hope...

Good to see not all online users from these countries are keyboard warriors...

The warmongers should be arrested. For me, warmongering is a crime which shouldn't be tolerated in a modern world.

Tonight or tomorrow early in the morning India will launch second attack. Its for sure. No signs of de-escalation.

so after banging there war drums on excitment of killing a few trees, indians want peace now that we have given them a reality check, what a weak nation of hypocrytes

Zahid Hamid is being taken to cleaners by Pakistanis on Twitter after his comments in favor of war and against peace :))

We have a lot of people like you in India as well who want to go all out. Those who were against war are always against war but their voices are not loud. However there are plenty of people who are now crying for all out war..
What you are doing and saying is exactly what our news channels and people are saying, "Pakistan is begging for peace" etc etc .

It's unfortunate to see that the media has made sure even people like Pakpak succumb to the dark side.. But I guess it was eventually going to happen with all the hate being spread around..

I still want peace, I wanted it yesterday and I wanted it the day before. So don't tar me with the war brush.

I have been astounded by the nonsense from Modi and after India's act yesterday roaming in our air space we had to act. But I will never support a long term war. I have said enough times on PP.

I think it will die down now, the war mongering esp after the Indian ministers saying they don't want escalation. But all depends on Modi.

I think Modi has backed himself into a corner. Very difficult for him to defuse this now without losing all credibility. My bet would be that India will now pressure an intermediary like Trump to make Pakistan back off, the key here will be whether Imran Khan will be prepared to be the scapegoat in the same manner Nawaz was in the Kargil affair.

But of course that conflict was initiated by Pakistan armed forces so it was right to accept the blame, in this case it seems more like the whole thing has been turned into an election stunt which has backfired badly for the BJP. I can't see IK being willing to carry the can for this one.

Yeah I think you're right. The next 14 hours are very crucial.

The media are training their guns on Modi already. The moment our plane(s) were shot down and pilot(s) captured, it was game over.

Would like to tune in to Arnab tonight with some popcorn on the side. He was hankering for nuclear war yesterday, let's see how much he's softened up over the last 24 hours.

Lets hope soldiers from both sides stay safe and nothing more happens.

I hope and pray this conflict ends soon.

what is the use of having an army and a huge defence budget if there is no war when it is needed. will burn my passport and stop calling myself an indian if modi dares to de-escalate.

Exactly, why have such a huge defense budget if you give up because 2 planes were shot down? /s

No one in their right minds would want a war. Just look at Afghanistan, Syria, yemen, iraq.. Why would anyone want their kids to live in such an environment?

My point regarding you was that because of the media (not just Indian but Pakistani media as well) and the emergence of social media trolls even someone like you who was always sensible have started taking digs.. When you quoted a post which called a nation "Weak and hypocrites" you have went over the dark side finally. Which is a shame..
It is absolutely no different from indian media house and trolls calling Pakistan "begging for mercy", "cowards" and many other names..
If the media from both sides can make someone like you turn then I can safely say there is no hope for long standing peace and resolution of the conflict in our lifetime..

I think difference is IK. He has come a long way and is a very good reader of geopolitics and war history. With IK, People of Indo-Pak are in safe hands.

We can't overlook the fact that Imran Khan has 4.5 years and Modi has 3 months. IK with his potential 4+ years will gain more weightage at ANY FORUM, domestic or global. So we people of Indo-Pak are in safe hands for the time being.

Pakistani media has been very mild, from our players to actors to even anchors like Shahid Masood, which should tell you a lot. However Indian media has been behaving like the tabloids you find in the West. Look at the statement from Indian players to Bollywood, the entire nation was being whipped into a war frenzy baying for Pakistani blood.

You, Varun and SIF are reasonable Indians and I like interacting with you lot but I lost it yesterday when we had people like Joshila openly celebrating loss of life and gloating about 'paying the price'. Believe it or not I have Indian friends in real life too and one of them was livid with Modi, we spent entire evening talking about it.

But that was my point friend, if you let Indian media or celebrities get to you then the other side has already won. I don't watch Pakistani news so I wouldn't know how they portrayed this particular event however I am sure there would be some channels who would be Pakistan's India TV or Republic TV.

On PP there are plenty of Joshila from other side as well but after spending a few months in PP I realised it's not worth talking to them. They have been here for many years and have been talking about same old non sense without getting bored. Tells you how desperately they need a life :).

Since these guys managed to get to you even your comments might trigger some other sensible guy from india and then he starts chest thumping which triggers someone else so on and so forth. So best to ignore the trolls rather than feed them a reaction.

Don't let the trolls get to you, maintain sensibility even online and don't indulge in pointless chest thumping. Leave it to the trolls on either side there are plenty of them whose only form of entertainment in life are such forums..

Green tinted chest thumpers yes but which of the other side are blood thirsty warmongers (like he is) on here?

Pakistan has made a lot of mistakes in the past and there are many issues still on which we can be criticized. However, saying the the media on both sides has fueled the war hysteria is a case of complete false equivalence. Indian media is operating in a parallel universe. Even social media which is normally good for nothing has some hashtags in favor of peace trending but the way Indian news channels are spewing poison is simply unbelievable.

Reading their comments are as if I am watching Indian media with sub-titles on.

Sadly almost every Indian media is war mongering.

I am not being biased because I am Pakistani but I can say this proudly, Pakistani media did not promote war before Indian violating Pakistani Army, Pakistani media did not promote war before two Indian planes went down and Pakistani media is not promoting war after, though, Pakistani media did say that Pakistan will have no choice but to retaliate if India decided to take illegal actions.

India's greatest enemy is not Pakistan, but India's media. Period.

India's greatest enemy is radicalized extremists hindus.

I have never met a single extremists hindu who does not promote war against Pakistan.

Unfortunately, India has made one a PM, who miss-calculated out of desperation to win re-election and risking the lives of innocent Indians and Pakistanis.

Keyboard warriors should be send to the LoC with guns their hand for 10 minutes Let's see what happens

If India backs off now, Modi will look like a loser after all the talking from him. Hopefully, it stops now.

There is a blessing in disguise here. Now IAF knows that Migs should be sold to the nearest antique store for an old lamp and couch. They should never engage them in any operation.

So you are saying that the only mistake was using the wrong planes for the attack. So much for #SayNoToWar

The mistake was appointing an idiot Hindutva as PM who thought his success at bullying minorities at home would translate to international warfare. Hopefully his term is coming to an end and India can take a more progressive direction, that would be the real blessing.

A pilot was captured in 1999. If we had de escalated we would have lost Kargil. We didnot.

Everyone wants peace. If Pakistan is not going to support any armed terrorist movement in India then i dont see a reason to not have peace. But if Pakistan wants to continue with its ways then there will be no peace.

Why dont you check the casualty to terror attacks in India since 1999? Compare it to the casualty in kargil war.

You saying game over, isnt game over.

It was India not Pak who started all this. They refused IK's talk offers then their jets cross the LOC yesterday. We gave them a befitting reply and now their people want peace.

This is 2019. Im surprised you haven't gone back to 71 as you always do.

Pakistan was a new born nuclear power in 1999 and under pathetic leadership. Today it has a strong battle hardened army and full capablity of launching dozens of nuclear strikes from land and sea.

I would have thought after seeing your pilot in custody, sanity would prevail and Indians like yourself would understand Pakistan today is no pushover but will cause as much or more destruction to India in return.

It's time to wake and smell the coffee, resolve Kashmir and get back to the IPL and Bollywood for Indians.

C'mon soldier,

put that hand made uniform on and march towards border.

Come on, lets give up your freedom and comfort in exchange of a captured soldier.

Kashmir will remain Indian territory.

US officers were PoWs in Iraq war. US didnot stop the war.

Give this threat of nukes to a non nuke country. Judt like you threatened disruption by Pakistanis in foreign countries, this is also a hollow threat.

How do you guys tolerate this kind of nonsense in India? Question to all Indians.

aren't you suppose to one of the most educated nation in the world. Question to all Indians.

or is he one of the kind? Question to all Indians

where is your uniform soldier or you will remain online soldier from the comfort of your home?

2019 Pakistan, get used to it.

Rumours that India is preparing to attack again, this time using Naval forces. Karachi on high alert. Can someone confirm?

Varun please take Joshila and Mamoon, we will give you Kashmir.

These news anchors are unbelievably irresponsible, they toxify the political debate and appeal to peoples' worst instincts. The amount of fake news in the last week has been crazy. I bet some of them don't even believe in what they say on air and are acting up a role to drive ratings.

This is the problem with social media and 24 hour news - it empowers the loudmouths and drowns out the quiet majority of "normal" people just want peace.

They should be sent to the guillotine. War mongering of such a scale should be punishable by death.

Indian leadership has gone to the dogs.

Congress and its past leaders never war mongered like this.

Why in the world are you even talking about nuclear strikes? That's never going to happen because if it did, Pakistan likely wouldn't exist anymore. At most there will be a conventional war.

Wow you’re a genius for stating that if there was a nuclear war then Pakistan wouldn’t exist no more.

Let me tell you what also might happen. Not only Pak won’t exist and if some reason Pak doesn’t nuke India then millions and millions of Indians will also die.

Why is every Indian so desparate for a war ?
What is this new obsession with war from Bhakths and hindutva?

and you think india will remain just fine?

No, where did I say that?

Where did I say that many Indians wouldn't die? I just said that we won't get to that point.

Also not sure why you go on and on about Hindutva. There are nearly 200 million Muslims in India, most of whom support India in whatever military action it takes.

No, where did I say that?

And just because a small black community support trump doesn’t mean he isn’t racist.

Why do supporters of radicalized extremists come up with the childish defense?

You've got it the other way around. A very small % of Indian Muslims might not be supporting India, but most are. Just like some tiny % of Hindus might not back India (probably for political reasons).

They actually did, we just have short memories. All these politicians are two sides of the same coin.

Nothing will happen. Things should cool down a lot more now.

The Indian machine is eerily silent. There is no urgency to save face. There is no enthusiasm to reclaim domination. They are scheming...

Donald being as eloquent and succinct as ever.

"We have I think reasonably attractive news from Pakistan and India. They have been going at it. We were involved in trying to have them stop. We have some reasonably decent news. I think hopefully that's going to be coming to an end. It's been going on for a long time." — US President Donald Trump
