Every year there is a World Cup thanks to paindoo BCCICC.

World Cup has lost the meaning. :yk

World Cup turned into sanghi cup.

Different formats, different types of of skills so different cups and champions

This isn’t for people who can’t even run a t20 league properly

Can't think of any other major sport where there is a WC every year. :inti

Football has 1 WC every 4 years. That's it. :inti

I wish cricket could be intelligently run like football instead of being run by paindoos.

How many formats football has?

And football is a club sports mainly thes days and theres a club world cup every year isn’t it?

Sanghis: Bangladesh is not important. Bangladesh was kicked out of the World Cup. Blah blah.

Okay? That's fine. Why do you keep bringing up Bangladesh over and over then? What kind of mental illness is this? :inti

Bangladesh did not want to be in India. You can call it withdrawal or "being kicked out". Whatever floats your boat. Bangladesh got what they wanted at the end of the day. :dav

They should focus on 2027 WC now. India are not scheduled to host any ICC event till 2029. We can enjoy 3 years of peace.

Every year Is world cup yet minnows team's can't even win anything.

Your minnow Bangladesh never reached in any world cup semifinal forget about winning it while Afghanistan reached in semi last time.

Bangladesh was, is and will remain a minnow forever.

"private company sacked a BD cricketer after getting the instructions from the national board"

Just be honest - it's not that difficult.

Let’s assume bcci asked kkr to sack fizz, how is that a security issue? A contractual issue yes

world cup, world cup everywhere, yet not a single semifinals for eternal losers

Its nice to put people in their places

Bangladesh wanted to play the world cup but didn’t get to play it, coping responses won’t help

The situation is the same with Pakistan; they wanted to boycott but cannot because of the power of the BCCICC. They fear sanctions.

That is why it is said that one should not use big words, one should speak only as much as they can afford it.

Bangladesh wanted to play in Sri Lanka due to security concerns. The ICC gave them time to reconsider, but Bangladesh showed spine, stood their ground, and chose to boycott the tournament to protect their self-respect. They have moved on, it's high time andhbhakhts like you do the same instead of obsessing over what they are doing now. :rabada2

And minnow or not, every life matters, this is just a sport, not the end of the world. And if Bangladesh are minnows in cricket, then we are minnows in plenty of other sports too. :inti

You know things are really heading southward when....
:afridi
- Cricket Iceland and Cricket Uganda put their entries on the Moye Moye Board!

- Chachu Andy Pycroft is still in circulation and will be doing what he does best :ua

- The WC will still go on - irrespective of who plays or boycotts :) :virat

Imo, ‘Thrown out’ is a strong term, meant to troll and make people angry.

But it is correct to say that BD was denied participation in the WC.

Consider:

One: Is it true to say that BD wanted to play the WC, but made playing outside of India a condition of their participation?

Two: Is it true to say that this demand was rejected by the ICC?

Three: Is it true to say that as a consequence BD was denied participation in the WC?

It then follows that BD was removed from the WC.

BD saying that it walked away, is a meaningless interpretation in the context of a power equation.
It is not correct. Denied participation assumes that there was a request to participate. This was not the case as Bangladesh’s participation was already confirmed.

The denial was of BD’s own request of changing the conditions of their participation. BD could’ve removed that condition and still participate. They refused to do that.

You can’t deny someone something when the other person is holding all the cards that determine their participation.

Because it is a Bangladesh kitty cats related thread sweep_shot bro, if Bangladesh doesn't get mentioned on a thread related to them it becomes whataboutism conversations 😔

Sanghis should focus on the World T20. Bangladesh can focus on next series and 2027 WC.

No need to make simple things complex. :dav

Bangladesh chapter is closed but Indians are still interested and obsessed with this conversation so much that they just cannot stop talking about it...

What you waiting for since the chapter is closed ?

One pakistan heritage player Safyaan Sharif and one afghanistan heritage player Zainullah Ihsan play for Scotland.

The whole Fizz saga could be the start of something big. Things always start small but they spiral into big things which most people cannot foresee. For Example, overthrow of former BD goverment in power.

Scotland’s journey to the World Cup has been nothing short of dramatic. Bangladesh was removed and when they were replaced, they arrived with no new World Cup jersey and no sponsors. For a moment, it genuinely looked like they might have to play the tournament in their domestic kit, unless a sponsor was found within a week.

Then came the turnaround.
Within eight days, Scotland secured kit sponsorship , Skyscanner came on board as the lead arm sponsor, while Gray-Nicolls stepped in to provide the playing gear. A Bangalore-based printing company worked relentlessly through Monday to get the jerseys printed on time.

Against all odds, the kits are ready. The team is ready.

Now, all that remains is the cricket.
Really hoping Scotland finish in a strong position and give us a story worth telling, one that inspires teams who arrive with little, but dream big.

Best of luck, Scotland.

Shame though Jersey weren't given this place in the competition, seeing as they finished above Scotland in the qualifiers.

Bangladesh govt makes shocking U-turn: Asif Nazrul reverses stance, says BCB and players boycotted India

Bangladesh government’s sports advisor Asif Nazrul made a shocking U-turn on Tuesday as he said that the decision to boycott the T20 World Cup 2026 matches in India was taken by the cricketers and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and not the government.

“We are hopeful that ICC will give us the opportunity to play in Sri Lanka. It is our government that has decided not to go to India. Our concerns are genuine, but the ICC has not acknowledged them,” Asif Nazrul had said on 22 January after a meeting with the Bangladesh cricketers in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Players React To Government's T20 World Cup U-Turn: "Funny"

Asif Nazrul, sports advisor to the Bangladesh government, made a stunning U-turn as he claimed that the decision to pull out of the T20 World Cup 2026 was taken by the players and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Despite his previous comments making it clear that the Bangladesh government decided to not send the national team to India for the competition, Nazrul completely changed his tune in a recent interview and put the blame on the Bangladesh players. The BCB requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift their games from India citing 'security concerns' but no changes were made to the tournament schedule.

Following a meeting between Nazrul, the players and the BCB officials, the decision was taken to stick to their stance - something that led to their removal from the World Cup.

The recent comments left Bangladesh cricketers upset as media reports previously claimed that they were in favour of playing the World Cup. They expressed their disappointment at the comments and one player even said that they feel 'helpless' when it comes to the recent development.

“That was funny,” a player told The Daily Star.

Another player said, “You heard what he said. What can we say? We have no one. We are helpless. We don't know what to say since we had no hand in this [World Cup exclusion]. Many things don't need to be verbalised to be understood. We didn't get any help from any side.”

Later, he changed his statement once again as he issued a clarification, admitting he failed to explain the matter clearly and made it clear that the decision was taken by the government. "Once again, I firmly state that the decision not to play in the World Cup was made by the government," he said.

Nazrul explained that his earlier comments were misunderstood during an "unprepared conversation" with journalists following a BCB event. He claimed the question asked was about whether he felt regret over not playing, not about who made the decision.

I can’t take NDTV seriously anymore. There’s just too much fake or misleading news coming from them. Sources like these only end up giving Indians an upper hand to mock Pakistan and Bangladesh based on false narratives.
