Rate shahzad azam rana - fast bowler from islamabad. He has taken over 100 wickets in 2 fc seasons.
 
100 wickets! Wao. Thats great.Is he at the top 3? If he is, you know is a criteria for nonselection in Pakistan. Poor Sadaf :sadaf
 
If i was selector i would never select caped players in pakistan A. Instead i would give guys like sadaf hussain and shahzad azam a chance in that
 
And he has been drafted in place of injured ehsan adil in pakistan A side against kenya, maybe if he gets a game you can see him bowl.
 
He is playing today against kenya. I would loved to see him open the bowling with sadaf but they have gone for zia ul haq who hasnt yet make his mark in domestic cricket.

Atif jabbar and ahmed jamal both but they are poor bowlers arent able to perform in domestic. Look at shahzad azam he is also very quick i think 140+ and swings it both ways, their is a reason why he took 100+ wickets in 2 fc seasons. he should be playing in place of wahab riaz.
 
Just spoke to his team mate in PAK A who tells me he's bowling 142kph which is about 88mph.

Always love reading your little anecdotes bullet drive. They always seem to amuse me. Your always on the phone to this player or that player. Good for you bro. Not sure how his teammate predicted exacty "142kph" though. Why not 141kph, or 139? How come its exactly 142? Seems unlikely that his teammate would say that.

This doesn't prove anything. For all we know, that could be a conversation between you and one of your mates or family members, with you typing this up on both mobile phones and then print screening it. I have read the forum long enough to see the lengths you go to in order to try and convince people of your credibility. This is further proven by me taking a dig at your anecdotes and saying it is unlikely that his teammate would predict exactly 142 kph with you then automatically going into defensive mode and providing your so called 'evidence'.

My original point still stands when I asked how his speed is predicted as 142 kph rather than 141.26kph or even 143 kph. It is very difficult to predict the speed of a cricket ball with the naked eye, so I doubt the reliability of this information.

I saw him about 4years in a provincial 4 tournament. His problem was his inconsistent action which leads to much rubbish being bowled.

He was in fedral united squad in pentangular and didnt get a game and that tundler hamza nadeem did.

He was harshly treated by fawad alam & mohammad akram on that tour . Deliberately or not don't know . He was the fastest bowler among all we had plus a new ball bowler but in that game he was brought on 3rd & 4th change still he emerged as highest wicket taker .
Age is not at his side but he is fast medium more pacier than ehsan & very fit athlete . Lately he has developed his batting skills and can score few runs and hit big shots . Slightly better skills than wahab in batting . Can touch 144 145 kph with ball in hand . Let's see he gets selected for national team or pakistan A again ? Or gets totally discarded back into domestic again .

Right arm fast medium new bowl bowler . Gets outswing. Pitches it up. Fittest fast bowler in Pakistan domestic cricket , lean muscular athletic strong.

Scored 47 not out against srilanka A against red hot Chameera bowling at 150kph and against gamage & tharindu kaushal who took 6 wickets in that match. He came in at number 8 and remained 47 not out with 7 overs.

Last 3 seasons including cutrent season bowling figures

21 matches 112 wickets at an average of 22 runs per wicket & strike rate of 38 with 7 five wicket hauls.

He took 5 wickets in last FC game for Pakistan A against srilanka A on a dead flat track where zia ul haq, tabish Khan and Mir hamza managed 0, 2 & 3 wickets in two innings.

He bowls between 135 to 146 kph. 3 years ago in a speed competition he clocked 143kph has improved vastly since than.

Umar Gul who has played last 2 seasons when asked who he rates as fast bowlers in domestic he took 2 names Shehzad Azam Rana & Usman Shinwari.

Give him a chance now. Most wickets in last 2 FC season is a big sample size of 21 FC matches and 2 seasons.

Why are we so obsessed with Rahat Ali, Irfan and Imran Khan ? Are they untouchables like wasim , Waqar, shoaib ? Have they got ability like qasim, Waqar, shoaib ?

When NCA conducted fitness tests Shehzad azam was the fittest domestic fast bowler scoring highest in fitness test. He has taken most FC wickets than any pacer in last 3 years. What else he needs to do to get selected for Pakistan team ?

Did Rahat , Irfan and Imran get these many wickets in two consecutive seasons Ever in their life ?

Shehzad is right arm and his natural swing is outswing and he has got more pace than imran and Rahat.

If PCB doesn't take Asif to England than Shehzad Azam should be picked . If they don't like him than pick Ali Imran pasha or Mohammad Abbass. Pick bowlers who have good Strike Rate. Nobody deserves more than Shehzad Azam to be selected for Pakistan even not Mir Hamza or Sadaf. And Mir should be preffered over Rahat.

Pcb and selectors please don't make rahat,irfan and Imran sacred cows and untouchable.

What is the qabool of performing better fast bowlers ? In Younis's words sound they shoot themselves ? In Ajmal's words should they stop playing cricket and drag fruit's trolley and sell fruits ? :-)

1. Because he has the best fitness among all right arm fast bowlers in pakistan.

2. Because he bowls between 134 to 146 kph

3. Because he is right arm

4. Because he bowls good yorker and good slower bowls

So he will be in reckoning. His competitors are Azizullah, Ehsan Adil and Mohammad Abbass. He needs few fifers now. A tenfer would help.

PSL would be huge for him.

He started off as a crappy inaccurate , gun barrel straight ,late 120s to early 130s bowler , but now he has improved leaps and bound can consistently bowler over 135k+ (infact can touch 140k as well) gets ferocious bounce as well as decent outswinger , will be deadly on a bouncy track. I would say bring him in , reminds me of Tim Bresnan with more bounce. Oh and I forget he can bowl deadly inswinging yorkers as well.

So the man with most first class wickets in last 3 years is not good enough for any team whereas Elton Chigumbura , Imran Khalid , Abdul Rehman , Bilawal Bhatti , Zia ul Haq , Aizaz Cheema are better bowlers and better prospects.

Must have been very disappointing for the guy who has worked so hard in last 3 years. Who out bowled Zia ul Haq, tabish khan and Mir Hamza in a game where all 4 were playing against srilanka A on the same dead track.

He now deserved to earn some good money from PSL which he richly deserved.

One of the few fast medium bowlers in pakistan domestic cricket , right armer having pacy yorker and bouncer along with good slower one in his armoury gets sidelined.

Shehzad Azam 4-55 played a vital role in his team Islamabad Region victory over Peshawar Region.

He has had a phenomenal last two years, but it is unfortunate that during the age bracket when he could have been selected, he was a mediocre bowler as far as stats were concerned. We wasted 3 years from the time he was 27 to let him get 30.

You missed a point. That was his first ever game for Pakistan A so it was nerves. He has only played 2 FC games for Pakistan A and 0 list A game for somebody who has been so consistent in last 3 years and ignored. Out of those 2 FC games he was the best fast bowler out of the 4 playing by a considerable marjin in 1 game his 2nd game.

Sohail Khan is and was overweight and has chronic knee and back issues so he is not comparable with shehzad azam rana.

Shehzad Azam Rana is the fittest fast bowler on pakistan amongst all age brackets so why does age count then ? He has sense of fast bowling training and fitness regimens. I won't mind him giving 2 to 6 years to Pakistan cricket, everybody is not destined to play 16 years for Pakistan.
Give him a fair chance just like Australia did to Ryan Haris. If he performs persist with him until his performances decline or we find a better choice/better option.

Sadaf hussain and Shehzad Azam Rana deserve to be around Pakistan A and Pakistan team on a regular basis as next options. There performances deserve it. They deserve it more than Mir Hamza , Ehsan Adil and Zia ul Haq. Although Imran khan is performing decently right now and so he should be persisted but Shehzad Azam is a better bowler than him because he can swing the bowl and has more variety and more pace. Also he is better than Rahat Ali (inconsistent bowler with no body language and no confidence)
 
I feel so sad for this guy.

He has been most impressive pacer along with Sadaf in last 3 years of Pakistan Domestic cricket.

Unlike sadaf he tasted success in T20 cricket aswell.

He has got impeccable fitness levels and bowls fast medium. More importantly he is very good at slower bouncers , slower ones and fast yorkers.

I am so sad that Pride of Diamond Cricket club and islamabad's best domestic player got ignored by PSL.

God knows how Hasan Cheema & Rehan ul Haq missed him.

Rumman Raees is a very good T20 bowler but Shehzad Azam Rana deserved it ahead of him. He could have been the Sohail Khan alternative for islamabad team.

I also feel so sad for Shehzad missing the oppurtunity to earn good money in PSL. He is already 30 years old.

Tanveer Ahmed & Umar Gul rate him very highly and have voiced for him on tv but apart from me and few other nobody rates him at PP and nobody speaks for him at twitter or Facebook. To add to it he doesn't enjoy sports reporters & sports journalists backing either.

Today Ptv Sports were showing islamabad city and cricket culture with Fakhar e Alam as the host. He went to diamond cricket club and the owners son who is club captain of diamond cricket clubs team was asked about pride of diamond cricket club and he mentioned Imad Wasim & Shehzad Azam Rana.

One thing more , in last 3 years shehzad has only been given 2 FC games for Pakistan A and in his last FC game for Pakistan A he out performed Zia ul Haq , Tabish khan and Mir Hamza and still he was the one who got dropped from Pakistan A squad.

Dude, I have been saying this before and I will say this again

PakPassion needs to put up some funds together and buy a speed gun.

Get someone in Pakistan who is good with an HD camera.

Get someone like GreenRoars to edit those videos and post them.

I guess if we collectively pull up our act, use Social Media like twitter, facebook, and Instagram - we can become a good social force.

I mean people like Saj Bhai and MIG bhai already are well respected in the cricket circles.

PakPassion needs a video talent section - it seriously needs to have it.

Aizaz Cheema is in form of his life. Though he is 36 but I salute his hardwork, hunger and passion even at this age. He had a great domestic season and he deserved to be picked for PSL and Allah blessed him.
