Shan has been dealt with terribly by PCB. He deserves this.
You know who deserves things? Players who work hard but also merit selection.
This isn't the Pakistani Charity Board. If you cannot play cricket well, then you should not play cricket at the international level, or even at the A level. This is the most asinine logic I have ever seen.
Would you give a person with a high-school degree an engineering job, when you have individuals with masters because the high-school degree individual worked hard at McDonalds and "deserves it".
No, you deserve what you can provide.
If you cannot provide, you deserve nothing. Everyone here works to achieve and they only get there with hard work mixed in with their skills.
I want to be a cricketer, but I don't have the skills necessary to do so, so I won't take that spot from a more deserved person. There are plenty of people who have worked as hard, and probably, if not harder than Shan Masood, and yet he "deserves it".
When it comes to playing cricket for Pakistan, the 11 best players we have, deserve it, not some hard worker, because in this world, there are many hard-workers who get no where because individuals who do the job better simply get the spots they want. That is the reality.
This deserving non-sense needs to stop.
Many of us here are professionals and have worked our tails off to be where we are, and obviously in many instances, some people who worked just as hard as us, got ahead of us here or there because they were simply better suited for certain positions and could do a better job than us.
No one is a harder worker than Fawad Alam for example, but if he isn't good enough (I personally think he is, but he actually has produced at the domestic and international level), then it doesn't matter how nice you are or how hard you work. If you are more talented, and produce more than someone else, they won't pick the guy who is less talented and won't produce as much, even with that hard work.
If it doesn't make dollars, then it doesn't make sense. That is the capitalistic mentality.
Shan is not a good player, is a nobody in domestic, and simply has the connections. Lucky for him, nepotism reigns free in our nation, but let us not pretend as though he deserves this on merit.
I don't even like Umar Amin, but he has really turned it on in domestic, and actually has some skill, and at least with him, you could see that there is something that you can build on with his production, with Masood, there is literally nothing, and I am in awe that people support these type of players who have friends and no talent or production. It is disappointing and awful to say the least.
